I know all about the gays

And they recently released their Hot 100 [plus Top 10 Men of Color, Top 10 over 50, Top 10 Out Gay Men]. So let’s talk about MEN~~~ You know gay men love them guys buffed, most of the times.

So can I just say… some of them are just questionable? xD

Let’s start with Eddie Cibrian [who cheated on his wife and is now dating Leann Rimes, who “se me cayo”], then Milo Ventimiglia [whom after dating Panettiere seems like a total creep], Robert Pattison [whose stinky rumors are now forever plastered in my memories whenever I hear his name], Gerard Butler [who after starring on Dear Frankie and quivering, turned into total skeeze], Kellan Lutz [WHO? Oh yeah, Twilight], Ryan Phillippe [come on… really? multiple cheating is a multiple turn-off], Channing Tatum [enough with the meat already…], Zac Efron [Gosh… I feel I’m hairier than him… and we’re kinda the same age], Taylor Lautner [Okay, that’s just creepy… but then again MOMS dream about him, so I guess you guys are less creepy.], Ryan Reynolds [seriously guys… where is the substance…], and finally David Boreanaz whom I totally loved until recently. Man is a total let-down.

Now that I’ve got my disagreements, can I just say I feel really REALLY proud of Chris Colfer? He made the list, and I feel so giddy for him!

Other notable appearances? Tom Ford, Daniel Craig, Robert Downey Jr., Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family), James McAvoy, Lee Pace, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taye Diggs, ever on the list even if there’s no movies Johnny Depp, another who’s ever there Brad Pitt, newest addition hottie Mark Salling (Glee)~~~

Well, it’s been a long time, hasn’t it?

Forgive the delay on the countdown, and I certainly hope that this sudden interruption didn’t cause any screw-ups on the next few inclusions (like it did with #6 on my actors list). Anyway, continuing with our 20 to Watch between the ages of 25-30, there’s no other than… another French actor! Louis Garrel~

Born in Paris, France, on June 14th 1983, this 26-year-old actor shot to fame next to his the 20 to Watch fellow co-star Eva Green on Bertolucci’s The Dreamers, and with less than 10 years acting, he’s become one of France’s most promising new generation actors.

Son of Philippe Garrel (director) and Brigitte Sy (actress), grandson of Maurice Garrel (actor) and godchild of Jean-Pierre Leaud (actor)… it seems like Louis Garrel’s got acting running through his veins. No wonder he made his screen debut when he was only 6. However, it wasn’t until he was of legal age (around 18 years) when he made his 2nd film.

After his big break with Bertolucci, Garrel starred on Ma Mère (My Mother) alongside Isabelle Huppert, and directed by Christophe Honoré, who would direct him in several other films. He followed that up with Les Amants Réguliers (Regular Lovers) directed by his father, featuring his grandfather in a supporting role, and sharing the screen with Clotilde Hesme, who would eventually play opposite him on Les Chansons d’Amour with fellow the 20 to Watch Ludivine Sagnier. Regular Lovers would eventually earn him the Most Promising Actor at César Awards, and the Best Male Newcomer at the Étoiles d’Or.

He continued his collaborations with Honoré on the film Dans Paris (In Paris), and Les Chansons d’Amour (Love Songs), which is possibly Garrel’s 2nd most popular film after The Dreamers, La Belle Personne (The Beautiful Person), and Non ma Fille, Tu n’Iras pas Danser (Making Plans for Lena). He followed that up with work with François Ozon on Un Lever de Rideau (A Curtain Raiser), and Actrices (Actresses) directed by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi — whom he seems to currently date.

What’s in store for the future for Garrel? To be honest, it’s a mystery to me. The only thing I got to find out is that he’s worked on  a short film titled Petit Tailleur, where he takes the role of screenwriter and director. As far as acting gigs? Nothing seems to be on the horizon at the moment, but that’s no excuse to keep an eye on him… Right?

Please, if you haven’t seen The Host (Gwoemul) — not the Twilight series writer one — and are thinking of watching, watching it subtitled and not dubbed. PLEASE.

Don’t believe me? This is why~

Sure, that scene is supposed to be funny… but that dubbing is HORRIBLE.

Well, no wonder I hadn’t heard about Lady Rouge since her appearance in the Lady Dior series’ Lady Noire. It’s because Marion’s been so busy, that they didn’t have the time to make it happen… instead? They made a music video featuring Eyes of Mars by Franz Ferdinand.

*spazz* Marion in a red dress… and Marion in a suit. I’m a little iffy about her singing voice in that song, but the visuals more than make up for any of it. She’s rocking, and looking smoking hot.

It would look so SO good on HD.

But alas… I can’t access the video through the Lady Dior website at the moment.

Anyway~~~ I am posting because Lady Blue has just been released~
and you can view it over at the Lady Dior website.

Directed by David Lynch (Mulholland Dr., Inland Empire).

Look, I like Lynch’s films as much as the next cinephile, and I appreciate his storytelling and the things he does… but seriously? Lady Blue? It looked too much of a student film to be a high fashion piece. I could accept the hand-held camera and the dim moody lights, but the blurry lights (which I usually love) and the whole “this looks all shaky and stuff because it’s not reality” was just too much. I could barely pay any attention to the purse.

Also, you do not get Marion on a Dior piece and make her gorgeousity blurry.

but you know… you can watch for yourself, and have your own opinion.

People are saying it’s time that LimeWire is put to sleep
or most likely…

According to the article, 60% of people use LimeWire. Really?

I haven’t used LimeWire in… at least, 8 years? I do know about two or three that use it, but that’s because they pretty much suck with anything related to computers. And I mean really suck.

I have recently used aMule because I needed to get three albums (of an artist… Ding Wei, if you must know), and the only place I found it was on this Chinese website that only supported aMule/eDonkey files. However, I haven’t used it for anything else.

After Napster — does ANYONE use that for legal downloads anyway? — I went through a lot of other programs, including AudioGalaxy, iMesh, Kazaa, eDonkey, LimeWire… and maybe a few others, but the lines have started to blur already.

What I have been doing for music? I have been listening to a LOT of stream music over at HaoTing.com [literally meaning “good music” or “good sound” or “pleasant to hear”], and whenever I decide the album is quite good, I download via any place. Those MP3s sit on my HD for a while until I finally add them on my iPod, and once they become my favorite “albums” [hint: albums, not single tracks], I look them up in different online stores, and actually buy the physical album.

The last album that has defy that system was Salyu’s Maiden Voyage, which I pre-order for fear of losing my copy of the limited edition with DVD concert… like I lost Seo Taiji.

Welcome to Tokyo

May 15, 2010 — Leave a comment

A while ago the Tokyo Metropolitan Government commissioned Studio 4°C to make an animated short to promote visiting Tokyo. Available in original Japanese audio with English, Korean, Chinese Traditional and Simplified, Italian, French, Spanish and Dutch, the short is titled Honey Tokyo and tells the story of a girl from the future traveling to present-day Japan to bring back Happiness to her time. A boy named Takeru serves as her guide to different places in the city, doing different activities and learning about traditions.

The short had a budget of around half a million $USD, and can I just say~~~
it’s a really great investment? It just fuels my wanting to go to Japan.

Check it out at the Welcome to Tokyo website.

Great way to mix Art and PR. Tagged as commercial and short! xD

Raiou Gets a Teaser

May 14, 2010 — 6 Comments

Woah~ seems like Yu is everywhere this May.
I’m loving it.

Like I’ve said before, Yu’s face on Raiou seems flawless. And she seems more grown up, I was a little taken by that. I feel so proud. LOL even though I’m younger… This is the Yu I like, the one that acts. I’m all over the voice she uses on that teaser. The screaming, it reminds me of Shiro.

Vampire in Vancouver

May 14, 2010 — 6 Comments

Okay… Vampire is more than a meh title… but you know, even if it’s a film in English, I’m all for keeping the name as “ヴァンパイア” [VANPAIA] — but hopefully this is just a working title — LOL Because you know I’m all for Shunji Iwai and Yu Aoi in anything they might do together… but that is so generic a title.

Nippon Cinema [Bloody Disgusting, and Just Jared, without mentioning Yu…] are reporting new casting decisions for the film. Alongside Yu Aoi, Kevin Zegers and Amanda Plummer, whom I have already reported on, there will also be roles for Rachael Leigh Cook (She’s All That), Kristin Kreuk (Smallville, and is from Vancouver), Trevor Morgan (Mean Creek, Jurassic Park III), Adelaide Clemens (whom I don’t know), and Oscar-nominated Keisha Castle Hughes (Whale Rider, The Nativity Story).

I had totally forgotten this will be shooting in May, so this explains why Yu Aoi was missing from the FLOWERS premiere that other day everyone got blasted for those dresses. And I seem to be the only one who noticed.

I have always had a soft spot for Leigh Cook, even though I haven’t followed her career. I do know she was involved in a project [with Dove?] about self-esteem and body image across schools in the US. And I totally love Whale Rider, so I’m thrilled to see Hughes hasn’t stopped acting after she got pregnant.

Kristin Kreuk… I have the notion, because everyone keeps telling, that Kreuk is hot. I know. I get it, but man… her acting? I mean, how much of a suck was Chun Li?

And finally… Trevor Morgan, who has always played the bully. In my mind… I can only think of Empire Falls and Mean Creek, and he’s a bully in both, isn’t he? He’s an okay actor though.

A while ago Mario Testino opened his show Portraits for the first time here in Lima, Peru to re-open the Art Museum in town. Even Kate Moss showed up for the opening of the show – color me surprised.

As Lainey would say, I would cut a bitch to get my Mario Testino book Portrait — which I bought years ago, FYI — signed. But you know… things like that are hard to do. But my mom keeps telling me if Mario Testino shows up, she so totally will get my book for signing.

And, well,  since no cameras are allowed inside, I couldn’t take any pictures of show… even worse with a Nikon big-ass lens camera. So this will have to do~~~

Since I already (and only) own Portraits — which was 3 times the price I paid for my copy — I ended up buying the Diana, Princess of Wales book, because I’m a sucker for those photographs. The natural light, it gets me. I’m pretty much sure I also overpaid for it, but oh well~

And then comes the news that Kate Moss (the book) by Mario Testino, in limited edition of 1500 signed copies of a little over 120 pages, will be 350 Euros and/or $472 USD. I mean, F*ck me twice on a Sunday~ You know I’ve been dishing a bit too much dough purchasing Photobooks, but 350 Euros? Damn.

Anyway, exhibit was… well, what I expected. There was a funny moment in which I saw a portrait of Jennifer Aniston almost facing Angelina’s portrait which was next to the Brad portrait.
Coincidence or conspiracy? xD

Just saw a glimpse of these on the tv, so I had to look it up.

Boy is pretty good. Let’s hope he keeps his voice, because… you know, he’s like 12? Plenty of time for changing voice, smoking, drugs and booze – those can mess up one’s pipes.

If he’s smart, he’ll make it out of his teens.

And he’s totally better than Bieber, the Jonas bros, or Miley for that matter.

Some non-Disney record company… scoop him up already!
