  • Get Hana & Alice on Region 1 DVD Now!

Decided to post this (to make my daily post a day quota) and because I think it’s important people buying Hana & Alice on Region 1 DVD… if you haven’t got it on DVD (original copy, people) to NOT only support Yu and her projects in the region (non-Asian releases), but also support Viz Pictures who have been releasing films like Linda Linda Linda, Shimotsuma Monogatari (Kamikaze Girls), and Cha no Aji (Taste of Tea). All very great films~~~

Also… more people will be interested in perhaps subtitling Yu Aoi films (*hints* Hyakuman-en), and perhaps we could get proper DVD released of Hito no SEKKUSU, and other future projects.

PLUS!! Hana & Alice is 50% the price I bought it for!!! The DVD is quite cheap… only $10USD!!! And if you live in the States, you even get free shipping~~ 10 bucks!!! To own a Shunji Iwai film like Hana & Alice subbed, and with a great (and quite lenghty) Making Of featuring the cast working hard and goofing around. Plus, you can’t miss Yu snoring. LOL~ There! I said it!!

Wait!! There’s more~~~ All About Lily Chou Chou is also quite cheap, 2USD! So if you buy it with Hana & Alice, you get both films at $22 bucks with possible free shipping within the States.

  • Yu Aoi Film Discussion – Ashita e no Yuigon – Best Wishes for Tomorrow

Hmm… I actually saw this a long while ago, and I couldn’t re-watch this because I lost my copy, silly me probably didn’t back up. And I couldn’t take any screencaps of Yu in it. I might… someday, take the time to do it, but if you have the film at hand (because you are about to watch it, or plan to)… would you do some captures of Yu and shared them here? Just a few captures would be nice since there aren’t many images online~

    Anyway! Let’s start, shall we?

    Something about the film:
    (From AsianMediaWiki)
Best Wishes for Tomorrow reenacts the war crimes trials against Lieutenant General Tasuku Okada, commander of the 13th Area Army in the Tokai region, and the general’s 19 subordinates who were accused for executing 38 American soldiers who had landed in the region after bombing it with high-explosives and napalm, killing thousands of civilians.

Genre: Drama, with depictions of war.
Starring: Makoto Fujita, Robert Lesser, Fred McQueen, Richard Neil

  • First-ish Look at Disney’s The Princess and the Frog

Is this a trailer? Doesn’t feel like one 3P

Anyway! Disney’s 2d animation is back! It’s been years since the last 2d animated Disney film (2004 with Home on the Range which wasn’t so good), in fact… this is their first princess-ish animated film since~~~ since Aladdin’s Jasmine in 1992, but that was more like an Aladdin flick… or Beauty & the Beast in 1991, but Belle was not really a princess. LOL So! That leaves us with The Little Mermaid’s Ariel in 1989~~~

Wow, 20 years of my life have just flown by~~~

The Princess and the Frog reminds me of The Rescuers, and All Dogs Go to Heaven – hint fat crocs… and fat crocs who sing, with a hint of Sebastien from The Little Mermaid~~~ ‘LOL. Still wanna watch though~~~

  • Be like Others: Transsexuals in Iran

Be like Others - Transsexuals in Iran - BBC Documentary

Over the weekend I saw this documentary by Tanaz Eshaghian that surprised me quite a lot. First of all, I had no idea about Iranian policies on sex reassignment, but this documentary is quite an intriguing look into the lives of homosexual people almost being forced into this operation, in order to regain their rights back.

Some of them go through it, and end up more content with the whole support of their family, but in many situations they face rejection, misunderstanding, and even suffer a lack of attraction from their current partners after the operation.

I decided to share this with a few of my friends, and thought to take advantage of that upload to share with some of you~~ Won’t really feel like re-uploading, but you can try persuading me in a comment. LOL~~~ In the meantime, take advantage of the upload… you just need Pando.

  • Harrison/Sam Shipping

Awww… you know~~ Before I was all Harry Potter Shipping crazed, before I learned what the heck shipping meant… and before I knew there were people in communities supporting these ‘ships’ – I had Harrison John and Sam McPherson.

I’m still hung up on them. I still die for Christopher Gorham – woah… long crush much? it’s been nearly 10 years hahaha – and I still hunt films (and shows) with Carly Pope, but I still catch any project Popular-related~~ xD

But looking back… you see Harrison/Brooke~~~ and listening to the audio commentaries – Ryan Murphy does say that Harrison picks Brooke people – it’s time to face it~~~ After re-watching the show you see they do build them up, but still… there’s still part of me that wanted Harrison and Sam to happen. *sighs*

Then there’s that~~~ Sam’s a lesbian. Say what? I can’t recall THAT being mentioned on the dvds… can’t be certain, but I’ll trust the internet this time around, and say it. Anyway, I remember reading a REALLY great awesome script-format fanfiction posted on Geocities (which, by the way… it’s closing! I feel ancient~~~), and it was sooooo great. It began on Harrison’s choice, and focused on Harrison’s relationship with Brooke (steamy much? if I recall correctly) and also with Sam. Man, I should look that up once again and save it before Geocities is gone~~~

In the meantime, I’ll leave you with these Harrison/Sam videos~~~

  • Medical Drama Meets Power Rangers?

LOL, that’s how I felt watching episode 1 (out of 6) of the TBS drama Godhand Teru starring Yuta Hiraoka, whom I totally recognize from Swing Girls. LOL But, honestly, I’m watching this because of Asami Mizukawa~~ I just ran into it, saw her and well… let’s give it a try~ After all, I did enjoy the last show I saw with her.

Also, when di Hiraoka Yuta get kind of hot? LOL’ he was totally working the dorkability alongside Juri Ueno back in Swing Girls… and he’s also sporting a bit of a dork vibe~~~ I mean, I did recognize him for it!

The drama seems interesting, and probably will finish watching it… unlike Voice (even Eita couldn’t push me to finish that show) ~~ after all! Godhand is only 6eps, I can deal with that…

As for the Power Rangers reference? Well, Teru (Hiraoka) has sort of a superpower (to simplify things a bit) that was handover by his dad when he died on a t errible plane crash… this power takes over Teru each time there’s a life or death situation, and it’s totally Power Rangers that sequence~ LOL’
