Itoh Tube and Yu Aoi?

December 4, 2009 — 2 Comments

I have no idea abut this, but I ran into this story from Walkerplus~

As most fans know, Yu Aoi is represented by Itoh Company — whatever their actual reputation is — and here comes a story with the title “Itoh Tube leaking Voyeuristic Videos of Popular Actresses!?” WHAT? I hope that by “Voyeuristic” in Kanji, they mean “insightful” otherwise… WHAT? LOL

From what I could gather… meaning from what makes sense on the Google Translate. It seems like Itoh Company is re-vamping their YouTube Account (because prior to these random releases, their channel was rubbish) by creating a sort of a series featuring their signed artists… including Yu. It seems like those VH1 “Diary of…” where they followed x singer/group while they were preparing a concert, etc. It’s supposed to be going into the life of x idol while they go about their business and personal life… I think.

Here’s Yu’s Itoh Tube space. There’s two videos at the moment — one of Yu’s Itoh Channel intro and her own intro *minna-san, aoi yuu desu* xD and a short Making of the latest dancing Kirin CM. I only understood, “It’s been a while since you last dance” or something like that.

I’m impressed at how she manages to change her voice when talking and sponsoring. One seems very serious and even very grown-up, and then she goes on her “work voice” totally high and chirpy. Like two different people. LOL

What you think?

I think Julz is going to be VERY happy.

The National Board of Review named Up in the Air as the best film of the year. And like the Examiner mentions on its article… is this backlash against Mo’Nique’s refusal to promote the film and piss on her Oscar chances? Woah, that’s like a mafia. LOL

Clint Eastwood was named Best Director for Invictus, but like The Envelope says… Eastwood is a NBR fave. It really IS like a mafia~~~

Kazuraki Adobe Font

Adobe’s Type team has developed a typeface called Kazuraki, inspired by the calligraphy of 12th century poet Fujiwara-no-Teika. While it may not be wise to use this for book content, it’s worth a spazz at the idea that it could be used on movie posters, movie titles, book covers, and many other pieces of copy.

It’s gorgeous.

Mario Testino and the Girls

December 3, 2009 — 3 Comments

I can’t remember when I first saw a Mario Testino photograph, but I do own his book PORTRAITS, which is big and pretty and has loads of pretty photos too. I love it.

You know Testino, right? If you don’t, think of any model of celebrity… and he’s probably photographed him. He’s photographed everyone but me, it seems. That’d be awesome, be photographed by Mario Testino. Come on, Mario! We can have food together in Lima. It’ll be fun. LOL

So now it will be a Mario Testino day~~~

I love his photography best when he goes simple. I really seem to not be able to stand most his high fashion photography though. I always feel it’s forced… like when he shoots Natalie Portman, and I love her. And she’s got some awesome photoshoots, but her Testino work doesn’t seem to click.

But I do love his almost naked composition, over-exposed, natural light, grainy and slightly out of focus. There’s something about that style that makes me tingle. Many of those last photos of Princess Diana are like that. They’re gorgeous.

That’s it for the first batch, check back for the 2nd~~~

Well, I certainly don’t keep track with Grammy Awards anymore, so should I be adding the event to my Award Season calendar? Or should I just wait to run into it when it’s airing?

Grammy nominations were announced last night, and I’m glad I’m not the only one wondering why are the Grammy nominations so similar to MTV, the AMA and every other music-related award show? Just take a look at the General Field nominees to see what I’m talking about.

Westlife by Kevin McDaid

December 2, 2009 — 6 Comments

Hello there?
These photos are to promote Westlife’s new album Where We Are, with their single What About Now — BLEH! I know. The titles… *sighs* Why must they use those titles?? Anyway, the photos were taken by Mark’s main squeeze ;P

Woah, they look all sort of hot. Hahaha
No, I mean it. Check the break.

Say what?

I’m really pissed right now.

The Annie Awards (that’s the best animation awards) just announced their nominees, included for Best Animated Feature are, of course:

  • Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
  • Coraline
  • Fantastic Mr. Fox
  • The Princess and the Frog
  • The Secret of Kells
  • Up

Yup. That’s it. Say WHAT? Where’s Mary and Max?

You mean to tell me that THE best animated film of the year doesn’t get recognition from its own medium? Yeah, whatever. These are the awards that declared Kung Fu Panda better than WALL-E, so maybe we should be talking about actual technical animation than actual film.

The whole list of nominees is here.

I totally messed up the date on my calendar xD
I thought it was gonna be tomorrow.

Anyway, some surprise, and some not so surprise.
You might have seen a few already~~~

Spirit Awards will be handed out on March 5th, 2010 at 8pm. PST.

On my search for 2009 released albums, I stumbled across this post by Layabozi listing 60 Chinese Albums to Show Off — I so need to affiliate with them for YAM. Once Nate gets his crap sorted… Anyway, I digress~~~

They got some people working as musicians or music PR peeps~ to choose the albums to show off as a way to commemorate the 60 years of the Republic of China. Though, there seems to be a glitch on their list because a Hedgehog album seems to be showing more than once there~~~ xD

The ones on the list that I could already be showing off are:

  • Hedgehog – Noise Hit World
don’t mind the no-sense English. It’s a really FUN album.
  • Faye Wong – Restless
  • Khalil Fong – This Love
  • Chang Shi Lei – Niu China
  • Faye Wong – Fable
  • Carsick Cars – Carsick Cars

And I could be adding to my Show Off list…

  • Faye Wong – Faye Wong (2001)
  • Faye Wong – To Love
  • Yuguo – Babel
  • Zhou Bichang – WOW

Though I’m sure choosing a Wang Leehom album would get me some minus points.

This feels like an acid trip.
