Archives For Korean

I love saying that now, “From the vault.” xD

Anyway, I’m sure you guys know this video. It’s a classic one. One from when you first started using YouTube. It’s that hilarious video of the two Korean girls dancing to Yoo Chae-yeong’s Emotion [MV] — this is what years and years of listening to Kpop and watching variety shows does to you. I think even Hyori has danced to this song on Family Outing.

I can’t remember when I watched the video exactly, but it’s definitely one of the first videos I watched and re-watched laughing out loud with my friend before we began truly listening to Kpop.

No Nokaze link to Miki is a deal-breaker for me.

Okay, maybe not a deal-breaker, but I was astounded when the Memories of Matsuko banner with Nakatani-san showed up all Happy Wednesday on me when discussing the Korean re-adaptation of JIN.

Sure, we only have like 50 banners… but still, 1/50 chance xD

I haven’t done one in a very long while, huh?

Since the demise of the LivingSocial application on Facebook — TuneSocial — and my shift from downloads to streaming… it’s been hard to keep track of the music I listen to and rate. I tried Discogs.com, but I’m thinking of dropping it because they’re such an uptight community. Every time you add an album that doesn’t adhere to their guidelines of barcodes, catalog numbers, and milimetric genres, you get voted down.

I don’t buy or sell anything there, and I find myself adding more than I’m actually just searching for… and still there’s people who vote me down and are bitchy about it, instead of helping out and finding the lacking info themselves.

I rather keep my own database without hassle. I’ve added about 350 albums tonight… in the time it took me to add just a few albums at Discogs.

These are the albums I’ve heard this year. There aren’t TOO MANY amazing ones yet, but there are a few very good singles that shall be contenders for the Top50 list this year~

This year I’m doing better with my music than with my movies. LOL I’ve only seen like new movies this year, hahaha. If I don’t work harder on that, I’m not going to be able to pick my Best Movies this year.

Light blue highlight only points out a “special edition” xD

Oh, gosh~ JeA.

*laughs*

you are really priceless~~~

I put together my lists of Top15 Movies, Bottom15 Movies, as well as my Top15 Albums from 2011.

You all know that I like Brown Eyed Girls. I actually spent a huge chunk of my trip to Taiwan listening to Brown Eyed Girls’ albums (especially the first two), and then I realized something. I LOVE JeA, like… so much.

But I have a confession to make~ I didn’t really “get” her at first. To be honest, I was way too distracted by GaIn to notice anything, but as time has passed by… I finally get it. JeA, you’re amazing just the way you are. I’m sorry I took you for granted when I first started listening, but now I have a deep-seeded respect for you (as a person) and your talent. Your voice is beautiful, layered with feelings and experience that just flows towards your audience. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

FINKL’ing

April 2, 2012 — Leave a comment

Julyssa posted FINKL’s MV for Now, and I just couldn’t help and YouTube some more because… well, I really miss Hyori. LOL I really can’t believe how little she has aged (REALLY), as well as how with time… Hyori seems to have less and less clothing. LOL

She looks fantastic with a lot of clothing, to be honest. Like with the outfits in this Comeback Special performance~ she really should make a total turnaround for her comeback this year. I wonder what she’s planning~

On Saturday — the day I was having dinner with my friend, I went to some tea shop that reminded me of The Storyteller… or maybe it was Bilbo Baggins place, I can’t be sure.. but it was one of the most rustic places I had ever sipped tea at with it’s scribbled walls and wooden interior~

*EDIT*

The place apparently is called Dalsaeneun Dalman Saenggak Handa (달새는 달만 생각한다 인사동), the branch in Insadong.

So… halfway through my stay in Seoul and I’ve hardly seen much. In all honesty, we’ve been really tired jumping from one place to the other, so we’re taking this time to relax like we haven’t before…

Having said that, I’ve gotten the chance to meet up with friends that I haven’t had the chance to see in nearly six years, so it’s been definitely a nice experience — warm, despite the bizarre Seoul weather that’s greeted us, which includes a full day of rain (bus water splashing included), sunny mornings with scattered snow, and loads of icy wind which have contributed with my broken throat and runny nose.

I know I always talk about how I miss Vancouver and my friends, but my meeting with them has made me realize how much I miss hanging out with them over simple cups of coffee and snacks.

Of course, walking alone in Seoul through the streets and using public transportation made me think of that person. LOL So many people remind me of that person xD

I dunno how to type the name of the palace ^o^

*EDIT*

Gyeongbok Palace it is~ Miss ya so much, Seoul~~~
