Archives For Swedish

Nick, over at Anomalous Material, did his list of 13 Iconic Movie Images (for him). I thought I would share mine here since things have been a little on the weak side lately.

I dunno exactly why 13, but… it suits me fine. It gave me room to include things I wouldn’t have included in the first place. I’m surprised I cut so many from my Top10 Fave Films, but I did manage to squeeze half of them in. LOL I also set myself two rules… no black and whites, or animated films. ;O

So here we go~~~

You can talk about ANYTHING related to LGBT worldwide entertainment. If you’re a filmmaker that’s looking to promote your LGBT related short/film, or an out musician, or have an LGBT web series… you can all go promote it that week ;D

You can check the details, download graphics, etc on the YAM Magazine 2011 – LGBT Blogathon post. Don’t forget to leave a comment and/or link back to the post. Let all your friends know.

Heh, heh.

You know I love hair. And I love The Sounds (not as much as I used to, but still like them). Plus, she looks very rocking, even if it’s the same coloring… I just like the emphasis on the hair xD

Forgive the late post. xD

Black Swan leads the Broadcast Film Critics nominations with 12 nods, including Best Film, Director, Actress, and Supporting Actress. In the newcomer award, Chloe “Hit Girl” Moretz earns two nods for Kick-Ass, as well as Let Me In… which could pretty much suck because that would mean her votes split… or she could win for Kick-Ass, just because Hit Girl is awesome.

Why couldn’t they nominate her once for both like they do in Japan?

Cool stuff from these nominations? Some love for I Love You Philip Morris! And nomination for Jennifer Lawrence for Winter’s Bone in Best Actress and Young Actor/Actress, that’s going against Hailee Steinfeld for True Grit in Supporting Actress and Young Actor/Actress – it’s on!

Sucky about this? There’s no consistency in nominees… you’ve got categories with only 3 nominations — they’d better have nominated Madeo (Mother) last year, or I’m calling foul.

They mostly love The Social Network, I guess~ since they’re awarding the film for Best Film, Direction and Screenplay. But they also love Black Swan awarding Best Actress, Cinematography and Score.

Best fan-awesome? Noomi Rapace for Breakthrough x)

The New York Times’ got around 1min. clips of actors acting titled Fourteen Actors Acting. From Tilda Swinton to Chloe Moretz going through James Franco and passing through Michael Douglas, all the way to Jennifer Lawrence with a tinge of Noomi Rapace.

And… I want to say it looks great, because I love black and white – but really?

Even I can’t fangirl.

I’m never really good with Satellite Awards, I always forget them. But then again, there’s so many Satellite nominees per category… it seems a bit excessive. It’s like chucking all the best performances of the year, instead of choosing five spots even if three good performances will be left out.

And when there’s not enough good performances… they just fill the category up!

Inception is leading this one ;P

Excuse as I say that I thought Grammy awards couldn’t get any lower than last years. This is me saying that I enjoyed Eminem, and Lady Gaga fine.

But it’s really effing sad that Katy Perry’s got a Grammy nod for Album of the Year.

Not really static about any of the main categories. However, one category did really jump out for me — Julieta Venegas got a nod for Latin Pop Album. She plays so many instruments… and she has her own sound. When you listen to Julieta Venegas, you know it’s Julieta Venegas.

Her album wasn’t even nominated for a Latin Grammy — instead, Nelly Furtado’s which I actually liked fine won. The saddest part was that when watching that I told my mother “You know what would be sad, if Nelly Furtado wins Best Female Pop at the Latin Grammys.” Let’s not pretend Nelly is not singing in Spanish for commercial purposes. If she were trying to connect with her roots, she’d be singing more in Portuguese.

Plus, they also nominated They Might Be Giants for their Children Album [Meet the Elements, I am a Paleontologist]. I think that’s pretty much it.

Here are the general categories nominees~
