  • Monday Blues, How About You!

I finally get the LOEN 1theK thing re-brand. WON-DAH-K, Wonder K? Right? Too slow? Didn’t care much maybe? ANYWAY~

SunnyHill released the first part of their Sunny Blues album (which is pretty good), and have just released one of them videos where they teach how to dance for Monday Blues, but they never seem to time that release to an ACTUAL Monday. But still~~~ SeungAh is being ridiculously over-the-top Aegyo cute. I can’t seem to resist it.

How can this be dork, cute and sexy all at the same time?

  • Marit Doesn’t Wanna Talk About It

I felt kinda okay-ish when the song was leaked a couple of weeks ago, but now I kinda have started to really like it. Marit Larsen’s I Don’t Want to Talk About It shall be included in Marit’s 4th full-length studio album titled When the Morning Comes [1].

I wonder if it will be available in Amazon. I think it’d be sad to discontinue my Marit album collection, even though -according to my records- I’ve shifted 99% of my music activities to stream and downloads. With a record of just one physical album released in 2013 (which was a special gift I got).

  • Chen Bing for Mayday’s Eternal Summer

Since I was kinda lukewarm with Season 2 of The Voice of China, and the format of the show seems to have expanded… and I don’t have my dad to watch with, I haven’t been following this year’s season. Just reading Cfensi’s recaps. xD

Also, there’s not as much variety of music genres and voices like in the first season. However, I’m always game for someone who wants to sing Mayday, because as my dad would note… there is a certain flare to Mayday’s music, as well as Ashin’s voice (plus composition skills!). Nobody can really do Mayday’s music like Mayday can.

But damn~ Chen Bing (陈冰), aka. Kiki, does it pretty well.

I’m not sure about being Kiki Chen, though. And it can’t be plain Kiki, because there’s Kiki from Milk@Coffee.

You can also get the clean song on Xiami, because those damn The Voice special effects can get in the way.

  • Take the Night (or Day) Off for this Laura Marling Medley

Not so much ‘big vocal chops’ as ‘lyricist to watch out for,’ but Laura Marling’s voice is lovely nonetheless. This is a lovely medley she did for WNYC with -probably- the strongest segment in her album Once I Was an Eagle; Take the Night Off, I Was an Eagle, You Know and Breathe.

She’s a 24-year-old from the UK… and this is hardly ‘new talent’ as she’s on her 4th album already. She’s 4 or 5 years younger than Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and 2 years younger than Rihanna.

Whatever happened to the US music industry?

  • Huzzah Rani for Mardaani

Though I did knocked the trailer out because I thought Rani might have been a little “too chunky” to pull off the chasing and fighting [1], her frame actually makes much more sense. I’ve never met in real life a come-hither-you sexy of a female (or male) cop, as many of them just look like the police that are played by extras, instead of them sexy male or female leads on Hollywood movies.

Plus, Rani does look like a total badass, so what’s not to like?

And seeing that she’s promoting self-defense classes and all, why not just lump black-belt Rina Takeda in here. ‘Coz, duh! Rina Takeda would not only take Rani (or Madhuri or Priyanka) out, she would also take down SRK, probably Salman and maybe Akshay Kumar… though I may have read he knows martial arts or something? Maybe he was just a fan of Hong Kong martial arts movies…

  • Rina Takeda Kicking Ass in the Morning, Taking Names in the Evening

High-Kick Girl! was a really really poorly-edited movie with a very weak script, but Rina Takeda makes a lasting impression because, well… in their words: “No wires. No stuntmen. Literally really kicking. Seriously… I get kicked.” is their selling point.

If Scarlet Johansson gets to be an action star. Why shouldn’t Rina Takeda get to do it? Please, Luc Besson and Donnie Yen and Jackie Chan. Take notice!

    SO.MUCH.POTENTIAL.RIGHT.THERE.

Karate Girl was already an improvement. Imagine the possibilities with a strong director, first class action choreography and a proper project surrounding the girl.

  • Hyde vs. Beto Cuevas vs. Sanam – FIGHT!

    We got a triple FIGHT!

It was the second half of 2003 when I was listening to La Ley quite non-stop, since it was only one of the handful CDs that I had taken to Canada, when my friend grabbed my headphones and told me, “Do you know l’Arc en Ciel? It sounds exactly like him, but in not-Japanese.” I’d always kept that at the back of my mind until today when I found this new Indian band called Sanam, and had a similar thought.

Of course, l’Arc en Ciel has over twenty years of history already, so it’s an obvious imbalanced fight. Though I do kinda chuckle whenever people refer to lead vocalist Hyde as a “chibi” person, as well as measuring other people as “one hyde and one inch tall” LOL

Note: Also love how the fans sing as a prelude.

Of course, if La Ley hadn’t decided to split mid-noughties, they’d have a couple of years into l’Arc en Ciel, and the image that I have of Beto Cuevas wouldn’t be so quite embarrassing.

  • Fireworks Filmed with a Drone by Jos Stiglingh

There’s a very cool video of the fireworks show in West Palm Beach FL. that was shot using a drone. Some of the shots would’ve looked really awesome in 3D, and the clip would’ve been more awesome if YouTube had let the uploader use the original audio track, which seems to have been set to Andrea Bocelli’s Con Te Partiro [clip].

So I went to one of them websites that mishes and mashes clips together. Make sure you watch the fireworks in HD ;)

  • Tabu vs. Tabu – FIGHT!

    ruk-ruk-vijaypath-pattu-cheera-katti-idhi-sangathi

Tabu made a Telugu movie released in 2008 called Idhi Sangathi (sometimes romanized Idee Sangati or other variations without the ‘h’), which has been nearly impossible to locate even though Telugu movies are usually on YouTube (though sometimes dubbed in Hindi). In the case of this one, they haven’t even uploaded a single clip of any of the songs nor a trailer (in YouTube).

  • Khamatova for June’14 SNC Magazine et More

Admittedly, I haven’t been hunting enough Chulpan Khamatova news, but I ran into this photoshoot she did for the current issue of SNC Magazine. Apparently there’s an interview to go with the photos (that feature kids from this agency), but I haven’t been able to find a translatable (or scanned) transcript of it.

I also found out them Khamatova fans are really active on VK.

Interestingly enough, I couldn’t find a photographer credit even though I did find the “assistant photographer” Pavel Vedenkin (Павел Веденькин).

Also, I ran into this kinda awesome (except for all the clips of The Sword Bearer) Chulpan Khamatova’s scattered filmography clip that’s not on YouTube. Nothing beats Khamatova dancing… specially in that veggie suit. PLUS! This animated short titled Anya by Damien O’Connor to support Irish charity To Russia With Love, which features -albeit for just a line or two- Khamatova’s voice. Both voices, if you know what I mean [1].

Here’s the rest of the pictures I found:
