Archives For November 2009

I was looking into this for a few days, and I was thinking of giving priority to Sharing but since half my traffic uses freaking Internet Explorer, I have decided to give priority to my Google Adsense. Why are you guys still using Internet Explorer?

There is a new issue between the new WordPress version, the Share Button plugin and Google Adsense that makes Google Adsense NOT appear on Internet Explorer (version 8, I believe), which cuts seriously on my ad clickings. The WordPress forum post says it’s a “resolved” issue, but deactivating the plugin is hardly resolving the issue.

Anyway, so there will be no easy sharing until someone fixes that plugin, or someone suggests a better plugin to me. Which one will be faster?

We usually butcher language in this place, combining words from different languages, inventing verbs [check RASUTO FURENZING, Bibifying] and adjectives [check Bibified], but we do care about language… considering everyone seems to butcher language.

According to the Oxford New American Dictionary, “unfriend” is the top word of 2009.

This was also interesting;

Dictionary officials said twitterisms comprised a “notable word cluster” in 2009, including the following terms related to the social network: tweeps, tweetup, twitt, twitterati, twitterature, twitterverse/sphere, retweet, twibe, sweeple, tweepish, tweetaholic, twittermob, and twitterhea.

Also, I didn’t see the big deal about the Whopper Sacrifice promo. People DO have friends that are useless. Like people with over 1k contacts… and they only speak with only 10 LOL

Too many words to learn xD One of them is “tramp stamp,” a tattoo on the lower back, usually on a woman – now, I wonder how many women I know with those. Very telling, very telling. xP

Woah, long time~ Has it been two months already? Well, I thought since One Million Yen has come out (finally!) with English subtitles on an “official” release, that I’d give this a push. I know most of you would have seen Tokyo!, Hyakuman-en and Honokaa Boy by now, but we’re trying to space them out because there hasn’t been any new project announcement since Otouto, which opens this coming January.

In the meantime, you’ll have to enjoy these things.

Here we go~~~

First, let me begin saying that I thought 2006 was a great year to watch films. Also, funny thing to point out — it was really, and I mean… REALLY tough to pick my Best Supporting Actress picks~

Many of my favorite films have a 2006 tag in them, so this list might seem a little bias, even though I really tried hard to not be. You might noticed how hard I tried not to be bias. LOL — check the Best Actress category~

You’ve seen this.

I’ve found a new Club Keiba CM, plus photos — and also decided to post other Club Keiba printed ads. Club Keiba should be paying me for this post, but I’m an idiot. LOL

Woah, those crazy fans~

November 15, 2009 — 3 Comments

I just sorta had a surreal experience while shooting a gig last night. After the 50min. gig, I was waiting coz I had lost my dad in the audience — hahaha, he’s like my bodyguard. You know, tiny girl + big camera is not a good combo at nighttime. Anyway, the band finished playing and were getting their gear packed when girls starting gathering around the entrance. Then the screaming started, like ear-splitting screams… they sounded three times the number they actually were. In the end, the band and the rest of us went the other way, from a side exit.

Once we got out of there, and security closed the fences, chicks had followed us there and kept on screaming against the fence. I was just startled, and it was kinda funny. So we ended up on the building where they were hanging out before the gig, and went up 3 floors. They chilled a bit there, when bam! Fans were downstairs waiting for them to show up on the balcony. Honest to blog, there weren’t that many, but they sounded like a hundred. LOL

The band began throwing signed stuff liked print-outs, and other paper. And I threatened to throw some tempura because honestly I was kind of starving, so I camouflaged my pass and my gear and quietly left to get my dad, and also get something to eat. I didn’t eat much either. Too many people~~~

Let’s see~~~ There’s 65 Countries competing for 5 spots on the Foreign Film category this time around, from which I have seen… around… TWO, hahaha. I’ve seen only Madeo (Mother) from Korea, and La Teta Asustada (Milk of Sorrow) from Peru. But I’m watching No Puedo Vivir Sin Ti from Taiwan this weekend~

Also want to watch Mei Lanfang (Forever Enthralled) from China, The White Ribbon from Germany, and Dare mo Mamotte Kurenai (Nobody to Watch Over me) from Japan. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to find some of those Asian contenders if I look hard enough…

On Animated news~ apparently there are 20 Animated Features that could compete for possible 5 spots for Best Animated Feature. Among these 20 animated films? The kind of Peruvian The Dolphin – Story of a Dreamer. Yup, that’s right. From these 20 films, 7 have yet to be released in the US market (including Dolphin), in the case they can’t meet the deadline, they wouldn’t be able to compete.

There should be at least 16 films that meet the requirement, otherwise we’d be stuck with the 3 regular nominations, which wouldn’t be bad… we just have to be more picky. LOL

From those 20, I’ve seen 5… Coraline, Mary and Max, Monsters vs. Aliens, Ponyo, and UP. And I plan to watch 9 (Nine) over the weekend~~~ so I’ll let you know how that goes~

I should be really working on these more often because there are 3 more left before I get to choose the ones from 2009~~~ This time around, I kind of feel like i didn’t get to watch many good films. It was really tough to find 3 animated films to include, and considered to just choose two instead, but I found 3 xD so I hope it’s not mostly filler~

MOMA is doing an exhibition on Tim Burton, it opens to the public this coming November 22nd until next year on April 26th — not that I can actually go, I don’t think. LOL

But still check this out~

There’s this thing about The White Ribbon Trailer, it knows who their target market is. It’s not one of those foreign film which you don’t know it’s foreign because the trailer is just pieces of images edited together with some background music to set the mood, and no dialog at all because they don’t want your regular Joe to know the film has subtitles.

In that sense, I like this trailer. I wanna watch. Soon.
