  • Glee Quote of the Week – S01×07 – Throwdown

So so hard to pick a great quote
because the whole episode was filled with Sue Sylvester
    dialog to spare~~~

    Glee - 1x07 - Minorities!

Alright, everybody! Listen up! When you hear your name called, cross over to my side of this black shiny thing.

    (That’s called a piano, Sue.)

Santana, Wheels, Gay Kid — come on, move it! Asian, Other Asian, Aretha, and Shaft!

BUAHAHAHA. So so many great quotes on this week~

  • To Watch Until They’re 30 – Aoi Miyazaki

We are actually making it half our list of Actresses now! On #6, Aoi Miyazaki.

    miyazaki-aoi

Always, all the time, all I hear is “Miyazaki Aoi is so kawaii (cute) and how awesome she is,” and well~ she is also so very popular in Japan topping every list there could be. However, scratch all of that, and what have you got? You’ve got an actress.

I’ve seen her in a few couple of films, some of them are pretty great like Gaichu (Harmful Insect), or are very deeply sentimental like Sukida. Her films often have to deal with human emotions, though I’ve also seen her doing comedy~ but what truly makes me think she can pull it off if she decides to stay away from this love-interests type of films was her decision to play the lead on NHK’s historical drama, Atsuhime.

This role that lasted a whole year let Miyazaki play Atsuhime from her tender kid age, throughout her teens, her 20s, her30 up until her death in her late 40s. She played innocent, clueless but at the same time idealist. She matured and began learning how things in life and politics work, and stood by her ideas trying to make everything better for everyone. Miyazaki truly nailed it on this one.

This is why I’m putting her here.

  • UK Music Video Awards 2009 Winners~

I don’t know any of the winners, except for Coldplay’s Strawberry String which won Video of the Year… which is kinda bumming because video doesn’t seem to be released yet, so WTF. I did like some of the videos though… or sometimes just the songs, but I was expecting something else, I think.

  • Fox Promo Mash-up: Strippers~

    Glee - 1x06 - Procreation

I’ve always thought the desire to procreate was a sign of deep personal weakness. Me? Never wanted kids. Don’t have the time, don’t have the uterus.

    Hahahaha.
And come on! That journal entry! xD

which I will also post, because it’s too funny.

Oh, Bambie! I cried so hard when those hunters shot your mommy.

  • To Watch Until They’re 30 – Juri Ueno

I decided to add Juri Ueno once and for all, well because Julz already spoiled my fun. LOL And just to make you look, I won’t tell you where I’ve placed Juri, you’ll have to check the list.

Just as Yu, Juri isn’t very known by your average person, unless you’re into jdramas and Japanese films – but once again, you so totally be watching her in whatever medium you can, or else~~~

    Juri Ueno

Now, don’t get me wrong. You might be thinking she’s rude, but that’s only for this photoshoot. In fact, Juri Ueno is a ball of energy waiting to burst open. Quirky and off-beat, she’s mentioned that she’s grown up watching variety shows, and that she’s happy that there are roles for people like her, who don’t feel beautiful or “adorned”.

People like her? You mean, people with tons of personality and a lot of randomness?
Then, yes, please. We need more of you.

Even though Juri’s movie career has been a little on the erratic side of things – from the smallest of roles on Jozee, the Tiger and the Fish, to the awesomely funny Swing Girls, to the sort of bland Naoko, and the quirky GuGu the Cat – you just know that Juri has it. You only need to watch her interpretation of oddball pianist prodigy Noda Megumi on Nodame Cantabile and overlay it with her work as a motocross rider with identity issues on Last Friends. There is no broader acting range than that.

In interviews, she’s expressed a lot of interest in continuing working as an actor which will undoubtedly bring a string of new films (and dramas) that will keep us watching. Please, Juri! Keep on working! ^-^
