  • To Watch Until They’re 30 – Juri Ueno

I decided to add Juri Ueno once and for all, well because Julz already spoiled my fun. LOL And just to make you look, I won’t tell you where I’ve placed Juri, you’ll have to check the list.

Just as Yu, Juri isn’t very known by your average person, unless you’re into jdramas and Japanese films – but once again, you so totally be watching her in whatever medium you can, or else~~~

    Juri Ueno

Now, don’t get me wrong. You might be thinking she’s rude, but that’s only for this photoshoot. In fact, Juri Ueno is a ball of energy waiting to burst open. Quirky and off-beat, she’s mentioned that she’s grown up watching variety shows, and that she’s happy that there are roles for people like her, who don’t feel beautiful or “adorned”.

People like her? You mean, people with tons of personality and a lot of randomness?
Then, yes, please. We need more of you.

Even though Juri’s movie career has been a little on the erratic side of things – from the smallest of roles on Jozee, the Tiger and the Fish, to the awesomely funny Swing Girls, to the sort of bland Naoko, and the quirky GuGu the Cat – you just know that Juri has it. You only need to watch her interpretation of oddball pianist prodigy Noda Megumi on Nodame Cantabile and overlay it with her work as a motocross rider with identity issues on Last Friends. There is no broader acting range than that.

In interviews, she’s expressed a lot of interest in continuing working as an actor which will undoubtedly bring a string of new films (and dramas) that will keep us watching. Please, Juri! Keep on working! ^-^

  • Ooh la~ Actor Spotting: Chris Colfer

    Chris Colfer

Certainly, Chris Colfer is something. He’s so adorkable!!! He’s so great as Kurt on Glee, I just want to squish his face xD – He hasn’t done much else except from this project with Ryan Murphy, but it’s a great start.

There’s nothing much left to say so… just watch Glee. xD

Last episode, 1×04 (Preggers) was so great because of him.
I just wanted to hug him forever x’D, you will too~~~

  • Glee Quote of the Week~ – S01×04 – Preggers

    Courtesy of Sue Sylvester
played by the awesome Jane Lynch

    Glee - 1x04 - Yes, We Cane!

You know caning has fallen out of fashion in the United States but ask anyone who’s safely walked the immaculate sidewalks of Singapore after winning an international cheerleading competition, and they’ll tell you one thing — caning WORKS! And I think it’s about time we did a little more of it right here.

And to all those naysayers out there who say “That’s illegal. You can’t strike children on their bare buttocks with razor-sharp bamboo sticks!” Well to them I say “Yes we CANE!” And that’s how Sue C’s it!

Why aren’t you freaking watching Glee?

  • My TV Fall Season’09

    What is I watching?

As you know, I’m watching Glee!!! – 22eps for this season, I’m so happy!!

and I just began watching House last night. This season premiere blew me away. I’ve got a bizarre thing going for House. LOL’ I actually think he’s pretty hot… in the OMG-he’s-such-an-asshole-but-so-smart-and-plays-music kind of way. And there was also Franka Potente in the episode. Potente, *laughs* always makes me laugh. It’s a Peruvian thing (dunno if it’s Latinamerican) – it’s commonly heard “esta power” or “esta fuertota” – sorry, I can’t translate that. But “Potente” always reminds me of that, so whenever I watch a film with Franka Potente, I giggle.

Anyway… I’m rambling. The premiere of Season 6 was wicked. Very different from a House episode, but still good. I did miss seeing Cuddy, though. It’s guaranteed that I’d be watching next episode.

Also… next week, Desperate Housewives begins… which, okay~ last season wasn’t so good. In fact, I’m beginning to screw up my DH collection because I’ve decided to not buy Season 5, but I’m willing to give Season 6 a try. After all, the first time I saw the later seasons of Buffy, I didn’t really liked them. xD

Nothing else. I think it’s time I pick up the pace for film viewing, I do want to be eligible for my own awards.

Also! I can’t wait any longer for Dexter and United States of Tara!!! And I’m also planning to watch Mad Men Season 3. Also interested in Big Love. And I know I should watch True Blood, but all the “OMG this is truly better than Twilight” scares the shit out of me.

  • Some Pushing Daisies and Glee Stuff

    First…
Glee just got a Full-Season order from Fox!!
All of this in the month when Popular is turning 10 years since it first aired.
Just next week, in fact! What a 10 year anniversary~~~
I’ve seen Popular fans on the Glee boards xD so happy~~~

  • ViiKii is Subbing Camouflage!

Woah! I just had a surprise adrenaline rush. xD
Like the title states (and hopefully my begging and grovelling helped),
I just found out that ViiKii is subbing the remaining episodes of
WOWOW’s Camouflage, starring… if you didn’t know by now, Yu-chan~

I’ve only discussed Chapter 1, so I’m looking forward to discussing the rest.

If someone tells me how to work around the subs so we can used them with the RAWs,
    let me know~

  • Best of Emmys 2009 – Dr. Horrible Takes Over

    xD

That was the moment for me. LOL I was expecting my Dr. Horrible mention xD
Now if only someone could upload for embed a good version of the intro
I love it when he mentions Joan… Ms. Holloway xD

  • Emmy 2009 Afterthoughts and Winners

Sorry I didn’t Live blog the Emmys, but come on. It wasn’t that interesting, was it? Coolest moment? xD Dr. Horrible taking over the broadcast – hint, irony? – Whatever you say about streaming, still… downloading episodes/on demand beats watching things on tv. And as for resolution? There are big enough files that you can watch. Great HD quality. xD

    As for winners?

I haven’t been able to read about all the winners, but some highlights!

Toni Collette FTW!!!! United States of Tara also won Best Main Title! Who else won?!? Kristin Chenoweth for Pushing Daisies!!! FTW II!!!! xD

The Beijing Olympics Opening also won (though I dunno if it won more than one) But it did win for Director for Variety, Music or Comedy Special – BUT! WTF!! Award given to Bucky Gunts? I think not. If the award should be given to someone it should be Zhang Yimou (or the Republic of China) because from what I’ve heard about the NBC Olympic Broadcast… it was… NOT pretty.

The Olympics was a gorgeous event, but the NBC broadcast was a chop-fest.

Grey Gardens also won Best Actress (Jessica Lange) in a Made-for-TV-Movie (and Best Supporting Actor), and Best Made-for-TV-Movie. Mad Men won Best Drama (again), 30 Rock won a bunch of awards – HBO won a bunch too. You can read all about… I mean, those “main” categories here and here.

  • Popular’s Glee!

    Oh. My. God.

I recognized it in the first minutes of the first episode. Quarterback wants to sing in the choir/drama club? It had to be, and it was! Produced and created (at least one of them) by Popular’s Ryan Murphy! I lost it! Glee is almost like Popular, but with more budget… – I smell cult hit, or maybe two seasons. Glee is not for everyone, but it should be.

    Glee

I was so excited after watching the first two episodes, that I went straight to the boards and behold! Some people were suggesting Mary Cherry should make an appearance xD – But there’s been an evolution from Murphy’s previous works… Glee feels like Popular combined with an edge of Running with Scissors and everything else Murphy’s done between then and now. LOL

Also… Popular meets Running with Scissors meets High School Musical? I dunno how this much music will play into a full season, but doesn’t bother me at the moment… Go watch it. It’s Ryan Murphy.

  • Best of VMA’09

Hmmm… I couldn’t find any other non-YouTube video of Janet’s tribute to Michael, sadly this one has an audio error at least for me… but it will have to do for the time being.

    *re-post*
