The WB’s Popular Music?

October 14, 2008 — 9 Comments

If you were a fan of The WB’s Popular, you were probably a fan of its music… or at least a couple of the tunes. Anyway, back in the day… I was probably a big BIG fan of the show, proven by this:

The WB\'s Popular - Fan-made - OST

Looks pretty darn good, non? I made it, actually… this backcover looks much better than the cover, because obviously I spend 3-times more hours on it. I even took the trouble to find the Warner, Sony Music (why?), Columbia (why?) logos, and the text I got from some Warner Music albums I own.

This is the tracklist I made in 2001, I probably have a whole bunch of other tracks, so now it will likely be a double-disc. Shall I work on a Vol. 2? xD

  1. Kendall Payne – Supermodels (Popular’s Main Theme)
  2. Tyrese Lately
  3. Wiseguys – Ooh La La
  4. Dido – Honestly OK
  5. Groove Armada – I See You Baby
  6. David Bowie – Changes
  7. Youngstown – Will You Marry Me? (Cheesy Boy Band Song)
  8. Vitamin C – Not that Kind of Girl
  9. SisQo – Thong Song
  10. Sugarhill Gang – Rapper’s Delight
  11. Spandau Ballet – True
  12. Sir Mix-a-Lot – Baby Got Back
  13. Falco – Rock Me Amadeus
  14. Sydney Forest – High School Highway (Popular’s End Theme)

Will You Marry Me? is the only poorly ripped from TV track. Care to add other tracks in the show that were on the original broadcast? I know of some… Actually, take that back. I found the post back up~ Will post that up later…

**EDIT**
I think I have most of the tracks, but Season 2 information is very lackin’ – If you’ve got song info from the original broadcast that is missing, please post away~~~ xD

I am pretty sure I’m better designing now, so maybe I should re-make this album xD. It’s not like there are the best hi-res Popular stills out there… someone help? ^^

Ten Steps…

October 4, 2008 — Leave a comment

The upload of the day! xD Marit sure does know how to tease listeners…

Just listened to it a minute ago… a bit later than I intended (it showed already 200 plays), but I was listening to the soundtrack of Kiraware Matsuko no Issho (Memories of Matsuko) – Man, that film gets me each time in the final “Okaeri”. Even the OST makes me mush inside…

Anyway, back on Ten Steps… of the 4 tracks released already, this is by far the more country-ish that I’ve listened I think. At first, I thought I was hearing a Dixie Chicks intro xD – But Marit’s got a talent for sounding sweet about not so sweet things… ha! “I’m about to break your heart,” she says… but she’s so chirpy! It’s scary x’D

Marit… but I want more. xD

Are you listening to Marit’s songs? She just released This is Me, This is You on her MySpace, and there’s a new video…  Marit Larsen!! Sin nya singel!! xD “I’ve Heard your Love Songs”

Kawaii desuNE! xD

Well since TV…. here isnt’t er… very prompt with seasons – roughly waiting an average of 3 months for popular shows, and more… even a whole year – I’ve got to find other ways to watch, because I don’t like waiting.
