Emma Watson’s New Site is Pure PicSpam~

Well, color me surprised.

Not only has Emma Watson had her website re-designed with a brand new and clean site, but also it seems she’s finally bought off the previously bought EmmaWatson.com – as you probably knew (or didn’t) Emma’s previous URL was EmmaWatsonOfficial.com, which now redirects you to EmmaWatson.com so someone probably made a bit of money there.

The new site has a lot of very-welcomed white space, really big pictures, and easier navigation. Stuff is easier to find, and it’s probably easier to Google. And did I mention the pictures? There’s a lot of slideshows with her editorials and photoshoots and film stills. Sure, you can’t save it, but you can totally “print screen” them xD

And HELLO? Exclusive commissioned photos? People will probably print screen those too, but it is still nice to know you can rely on the official site to deliver original content.

Emma is proving to have a savvy online presence.

And be very fashion.

And I’m glad she doesn’t tweet.

Now all she needs to do is release a photobook. RIGHT?

Because photobooks are totally pretty. And she can pull it off… release a PB, I mean.

To Watch Until They’re 35 – Nick Stahl

Continuing with our list of The 20 to Watch… in the actors category, comes perhaps a familiar face, but not really a name that sticks around. It’s none other than Nick Stahl~

Born in Texas, USA on December 5th 1979, Stahl barely cuts it with the age at 30 years old. However, with films in his filmography like the critically-acclaimed The Thin Red Line by Terrence Malick with heavy-weights like Sean Penn and George Clooney, or the fantastic In the Bedroom, sharing scenes with Tom Wilkinson, Sissy Spacek and Marisa Tomei… we can’t help but keep an eye on him.

He doesn’t stop with the heavy drama, since he also starred as John Connor on Terminator 3, as well as playing Yellow Bastard on Sin City. Moreover, he also played Ben Hawkins in the kind-of-short-lived but critically-acclaimed HBO series, Carnivale.

Stahl has a few projects on the works now, including On the Inside alongside the newest It Girl, Olivia Wilde, as well as Burning Palms with Zoe Saldana, Rosamund Pike and Paz Vega. However, we really REALLY think he should get a better agent… I’m sure there are a lot of interesting independent films that are much better suited for a fine actor than… let’s say, Mirrors 2.

I really, REALLY hate Japanese trailers.

The film, as it looks there, looks a bit rubbish. The black & white looks really dull, though I saw some of a sakura shot, and it look kind of interesting.

To Watch Until They’re 35 – Eita

Guess who’s #10 on the list of The 20 to Watch Between 25-30?

But it’s, of course, Eita!

Born in Tokyo, Japan on December 13th 1982. He might be unknown to almost everyone, unless you are already familiar with Japanese films and series, but this 27-year-old actor has proven that you should keep on watching him.

His list of films include Aoi Haru (Blue Spring), Azumi, Densha Otoko, Su-ki-da and Memories of Matsuko. Of course, Matsuko as a film works because of so many different aspects including Eita’s ability to make you want to connect with the brilliant Miki Nakatani.

Last year, Eita worked on two films that seemed to be in many of the “best of lists” in Japan, including the acclaimed Dear Doctor — by famous director Miwa Nishikawa, who wrote and directed Yureru (Sway) — as well as the seemingly popular April Bride, directed by indie acclaimed director Ryuichi Hiroki.

Add to that his recurring role as Mine on the Nodame Cantabile franchise [headed by fellow 20 to watch Juri Ueno] which sprung not only an 11-episode series, and two television special, but also two theatrical films opening on December 2009 and this month.

There is a certain softness in Eita’s aura that translates well whenever he’s on screen, making him perfect to play the sensible young man. He doesn’t even need to speak a single word, even though you probably would need the subtitles to actually understand what he is saying [unless, of course, you speak Japanese], but whenever he’s in a dramatic scene… all of that doesn’t matter. He’ll deliver the goods in a way that language would really not be a barrier.

Very few [men or women] can captivate you like this.

Abusive Relationships with Pop Culture?

Would you recognize the symptoms on you?

You probably do.

You know how it feels when they build it up with trailers and promotional images. Little mentions on forums, and ripped videos on YouTube. Obviously, from there you could go to completely hating it or falling in love with it.

Oh, love! Isn’t it wonderful? You must know each and every little spoiler… you can probably quote random lines from your favorite pop culture addiction. Must get each and every photo you can find online and save ti on your hard disk. Everything is bliss…

Then your perfect pink-colored glasses break with a silly celebrity gossip post, or an incriminating photo… or maybe an enraging statement made on the news. Your idols turns out to be a douche, or a total bimbo… or maybe a total bitch. Or maybe the other way around, as in holier-than-thou?

*sighs* fandom… what to do with fandom. xD

Rie Miyazawa and Asami Mizukawa Join NHK’s Gou

Thanks Julz for the heads up~

Ueno plays the role of Gou (also known as Oeyo), the third daughter of the 16th century daimyo Azai Nagamasa (who married Oda Nobunaga’s sister Oichi-no-kata). Gou and her two older sisters are famous historical figures. The eldest, Yodo (also known as Chacha), will be played by Miyazawa, while the second sister, Hatsu, will be played by Mizukawa.

Teens of the 90’s

I watched all sorts of crap in the 90s, like… I could really be your teen comedy viewer. I’m still a sucker for a good love story… but, I think… I’m a little more picky now.

So I’ve made yet another list in The Auteurs~~~

Of course, no particular order~

Specifically to Julz, since we’re nearly the same age. What movies did you watch? Anyone else who was a teen in the 90s… early or late 90s. What movies?

I would watch teen comedies… like I’m pretty sure I could be ashamed of the things I’ve watched regarding teen comedies from Can’t Hardly Wait [listed] to things like Drive me Crazy [yes, with Melissa Joan Hart… and that Crazy Britney music video xD] to everything around and in-between teen romcoms.

From all the romcoms I have seen during those years, the only one that comes to mind at the moment that I don’t feel guilty about liking… and own on DVD is 10 Things I Hate About You. You could say I have a huge Ledger, Levitt and Julia Stiles bias~~~

There’s also the teenage “horror” flicks… from The Faculty [listed] to things like The Blair Witch Project [also listed] and those I Know What You Did movies also with Jennifer Love Hewitt… which I shamefully own. Those I own shamefully. LOL

And… oh god~ Cruel Intentions. I obviously rented the film [I don’t even know if it opened in theaters in here], so I rented it. I couldn’t have been older than 14 years old, so I was with my dad doing some grocery shopping when I stopped by the video store~~~ Me being the biggest Buffy fan — hence Sarah Michelle Gellar fan — caught the cover of the film and wanted to get it for the weekend. I’m telling you, it’s not such a good idea to rent a film Spanish-titled Juegos Sexuales (sexual games) with your father paying the bill.

I love Ryan Phillippe’s smugness on that role, and it’s not a shameful admission this one. I like Cruel Intentions, it’s just so satisfying to watch that last scene with The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony. Obviously, I was a girl with a crush on Phillippe… but THANK GOD it only lasted those years.

And… thank god for quiver killers? LOL

Not-so-Glee? on Rolling Stone

Anyway, a lot of people thought the journalist was offside. Inappropriate questions, tried to make the actors uncomfortable, ended up getting meangirled at the end of the day as a result.

Whatever.

I loved it.

Because his behaviour shaped the story. And his behaviour made it so much less safe and boring. His behaviour brought out a much more authentic side of the stars, ALL OF THEM. Lea Michele is a narcissistic humourless bitch, Cory Monteith is a con artist and a skilled dodger (which totally makes up for his bad pants) with a shady past, and Dianna Agron is a tight ass prude. It’s AMAZING. And so is Jane Lynch. Who has no patience for silly high school games and will cut a motherf-cker for wasting her time. As for the heartbreaking Chris Colfer, well, he may have the attitude, but he has to follow a locker room code too.

As for me? I was a little amused by Monteith’s story… kinda worrying all his past. Agron seemed normal… a little pompous (the story about the guy who can’t say “I love you”?), Lea… seemed annoying and pretentious. If you’re calling someone a whore, make it funny.

And well, Chris Colfer was endearing, but he did need to stop talking about the grudge. The interviewer WAS annoying though, but I guess most interviewers should have their annoying shades to actually ask people about their private lives.

I mean… reall~~~ “Entertain us????” *rolls eyes*

Sue Sylvester meangirls the best. =D
