  • Viewers Against Only-Dubbed Films!

I am NOT against dubbing… I have read that some people with viewing difficulties prefer watching dubbed films, and I respect that. This is why I’m titling this “Only-Dubbed,” I don’t have a problem with dubbing a movie, but what bothers me is not having the option of watching the subtitled version of it.

    Case and point, (more…)

  • Bjork and Sigur Ros Concert!

    National Geographic article here.

I wonder if Nat Geo Latin America will broadcast Live… coz I wanna see on my tv. Anyway, there’s also a link where you can watch the webcast (here, I think) – You’ll need Quicktime.

Concert begins at 7pm-12 Reykjavik, Iceland GMT time… meaning GMT -5 in Peru Time, 2pm

  • YPF is Out in Theaters!

Holy mother of effing sh!t O_O

Young People Fucking made a wide release… as wide as a film with the word Fucking in the title would get, I’m guessing.

  • All Hail Nine Inch Nails and Torrents

Nine Inch Nails just became a LOT cooler in the online community because their latest album The Slip cannot only be downloaded as a .ZIP file on MP3 format, but you can also download it as FLAC, M4A and WAVE (that file is over 1GB!!!) for super non-compress audio. And they use torrents for the last three formats… only cool kids use Torrents. LOL’

To top Radiohead off, NIN didn’t ask you to put a price to their music, and gives you the full album art on PDF format for you to print and have, as well.

Now it will all be a matter of waiting to see what this move will bring them. In the meantime, you can download Nine Inch Nails’ album The Slip from their website.

  • The Dirt on Carly Pope

I began watching a new old set of tapes (for archiving purposes), and I managed to go through 2 tapes… so that was like 9 hours… in 3 or 4, lol. Anyway, During the viewing, I saw a few clips where Carly Pope was featured, like 25 Hottest Stars Under 25 (by Teen People) which she shared with Brendan Fehr (from Rosswell). Were these two together??? And also, Carly was on 2000’s Nickelodeon’s Kid Choice Awards alongside Leslie Bibb, and some dude from Nickelodeon. Carly had crazy hair back then, lol… and she seemed very catty-friendly with the dude. I thought that was weird because I didn’t remember that at all.

Anyhoo… I got melancholic about seeing her work on time, because she’s been doing a lot Canadian indie films that I don’t get to see. She made Young People Fucking in 2007, and according to someone on the boards it was gonna be a limited release on April 18 this year, but haven’t heard anything about it. I mean, it took me 3 years to get to watch Eighteen and Everyone… and when I was still in Vancouver I was lucky enough to watch Hamster Cage at the movies (Fifth Avenue Cinema ROCKS) and I even got to see Larry Kent (the director of the film) after the film… how awesome is that? Vancouver was great for Carly Pope viewing because I also got to watch a  rough cut version of Break a Leg Rosie, which was a surprise because I was not expecting to see Carly at all!

Just a few days ago, I saw a re-run of Dirt on tv, and Carly was there playing Garbo. Hotness. I still have mixed feelings about the show, but being a big Greta Garbo fan… and a big Carly Pope fan, it all makes me giddy to the point of no return~~ And I think it’s fantastic that she’s taking classes, and continuing her studies… and according to her Wikipedia, she IS fluent in French, Italian and Spanish. Though, you never know… it might be the whole same issue there is with how many languages Natalie Portman is fluent in, LOL’

Anyway, I leave you with a lengthy interview that Curve Magazine did to Carly on 2007, I’m guessing. Great read, WORD.

  • Deezer, as Good as It Was?

Hey, guys! *woot woot* Post 200

I’ve been thinking of getting rid of the Deezer player because I haven’t been able to find or upload the music to share… and I haven’t logged into my account in FOREVER. LOL’ So I might be changing my music player in the coming days… maybe going back to my old player, or beginning using the audio library on this new WordPress (Yes! Amy updated her WordPress).

Anyway, I have been Asian-ized once again…. like my 2003 period. I’ve been updating my Korean, Japanese and Chinese music… haven’t really found any new artist, but I have expanded my library of the artist I used to listen to so often… – I have also expanded my discography is some artists on my iPod.

Here is the list of albums I’ve been listening to:

  • Amazon MP3 Goes International

This is the smartest move that Amazon.com can do for its users. (full article here)

We have received thousands of e-mails from Amazon customers around the world asking us when we will make Amazon MP3 available outside of the U.S,

We are excited to tell those customers today that Amazon MP3 is going international this year.

    I can’t wait for it.

  • Oxymoron MusicPass

How thick can an industry get?

I got a bunch of e-mails promoting the new MusicPass idea, which brought a very loud “whose brilliant idea was it? No, like… really.”

    Dear, Sony.
The idea of music download is that you don’t need to go to a retailer to pick up a copy of an album, and you don’t even have to wait for the retailer to open in the morning.

Well, considering I do most of my digital music shopping at 4 a.m. ~~~~ xP

  • Revolutionize, Give Your Music for Free!

    Lol’

Like ANY artist would. They should like soooo totally do it. Kick it Radiohead style!! They do make you feel kinda guilty over that, I ended up giving some money – Good music deserves $$ =D

Moby, he’s not cool… but totally earned some bonus points when giving his tracks for non-commercial videos/films etc etc.

Major labeled artists shouldn’t complain about illegal digital copies. They’ve got enough money, and they make all their $$ in their concerts anyway… just ask Madonna.

  • Found the Silver Sea!

I have finally found the Silver Sea album by Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, after extensive searching and waiting. I will share for a limited time only, if you’re interested, be sure to leave a message in this post.

The album has 13 songs of pretty awesome vocals. Meav’s got one of the most delightful voices I’ve heard in a long time, it really is a pleasure to just listen to her. Many of the tracks are slow to mid-tempo songs that really showcase her vocals, but most of my favorite ones are beat-driven tracks like The Wicked Sister, and The Dark-Haired Girl.

Some other highlights are Morning in Béarra – that, if I’m not mistaken, sounds like She Moved Thru the Fair, – A Maid in Bedlam, and Youkali Tango – a sexy-sounding Tango in French. Song lyrics and translations found at LyricsMagnet.com. Here’s the tracklist:

    1. You Brough Me Up
    2. The Wicked Sister
    3. Morning in Béarra
    4. Full Fathom Five
    5. The Waves of Tory
    6. A Maid in Bedlam
    7. The Cradles
    8. Newry Boat-song
    9. Martha’s Harbour
    10. The Dark-Haired Girl
    11. Port Na Bpucaí
    12. Silent O Moyle
    13. Youkali Tango
