Archives For 2012

I’ve been talking a lot about Popular lately, it feels [1]…

So I was updating yammag lists — especially the actors one — and I usually double-check people’s follows (sometimes to my disappointment ToT – I’m looking at you, Naka Riisa >,<). Anyway, it turns out Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) follows Leslie Bibb, then I checked her follows and found that she was following Tamara Mello.

Things went on, and I decided to make a list of everyone who was on Popular that was on Twitter.

They had a Will&Grace re-run a few days or weeks ago, and even though I haven’t enjoyed the show since I was a teen… Karen still manages to make me laugh.

Here’s the clip, but be careful if it gets deleted.

I really don’t know how I missed this trailer.

I mean, it’s got Yu-chan’s line in ENGLISH… broken English, but HER LINE IN ENGLISH. And it’s nearly a year-old video post, and I never knew. And NOBODY told me. T_T That’s the most depressing part.

I had talked with people who had seen Vampire already, and they’ve told me that Yu-chan’s part is small… but memorable (but maybe they’re a little bit biased). In any case, I’m not guiding myself by the reviews that came from Sundance because most of them… they were expecting some other movie about vampires.

I’m posting this today, because Vampire just got a Japanese release date — September 15th this year — but i can’t find an upload for that version on YouTube, so here’s a link to Wildgrounds.

I found this… seems to be pretty old considering this YouTube upload, but the animation style is still nifty. The Vimeo version doesn’t have a logo and is much MUCH crisper. I don’t know who did the animation though.

Remember when time-lapse used to be the craze within designer circles? You used to find all the good ones in design blogs, and stuff…

I found this on Facebook, posted from a second-hand rate website.

There’s also a Vimeo version.

I can see why people hate time-lapse now, though I gotta admit the time-lapse with Machu Picchu is quite stunning. We don’t get to see Machu Picchu shot as beautiful as it was shown there.

In the first part of this re-imagination of The L Word in a Jdrama universe, we saw my dreamcast.

I’m still a little unsure on one of my main details, though, and that’s whether I want Meisa Kuroki as Carmen — the hot Latina who sizzled people’s screens and made Shane go Loco (I’m sorry for the cheesy bad writing, but The L Word deserves this cheese)… or whether she should play Molly — the no-longer-straight law student who wouldn’t fall for Shane’s game, so I’m hoping to be able to make a reasonable mish-mash of the both of them.

Because I only have this one series [1][2].

I guess it must be the Blogathon week, I just couldn’t shake that feeling that I had to talk about The L Word one way or the other… again. What better way to talk about than combining it with MY FAVORITE topic as of lately~ JDRAMA!

A while back [1], I found a post where a fan talked what Japanese stars they would pick if they ever wanted to remake The L Word in Japan. Of course, I went a step further. I thought about the HOW TOs in the adaptation of a Japanese The L Word… because, well- for starters, Japan in not the USA. Also, I can’t show Showtime content on Japanese television. Not if I want to use my dreamcast~~~

I made this Jdrama character chart because I take this sh!t seriously. LOL

I was looking for some pictures for my upcoming post, when I stumbled into this Asami Mizukawa funny screencap from her show Yume wo Kanaeru Zo and I burst out laughing.

This is… sorta like a romantic version of infographics, right? xD

There’s also a Vimeo version available.

I’m not sure what this show is… singing contest or just pure music fun, but it’s called Tian Sheng Yi Dui (天聲一隊) and there’s no English name that I could find, so… Bibi had previously taken on Celine Dion [1], and I was about to post her video taking on Mayday’s LoveING (戀愛ING) [MV] [clip] when I found her re-taking on Aaron Kwok’s Give Your Never Ending Love (對你愛不完) [MV].

Which was good… and at the same time, positively hilarious.

She had previously done impressions of Aaron Kwok with that song [1], so it’s refreshing to see her singing her own version of the song, but at the same time having a blast doing it.
