I’m just guessing this is Sony’s fault because Dixie Chicks are signed under Columbia which is part of Sony, which makes it part of this whole SME Content region restriction issue. The Dixie Chicks Vevo channel is half locked for me, and I hate it. I’m sorry for the Dixie Chicks, but I fucking hate their channel.
You know those times when Facebook changes and people go all “WTF is wrong with Facebook?” because they usually make atrocious changes that we end up getting accustomed to. I don’t think I can say the same with YouTube (or Google, for that matter).
I kinda like the YouTube facelift that goes alongside the facelift that Google got its Reader, Mail and other stuff. However, one think does bother me…
You can’t eliminate stuff from your subscription timeline! Remember there used to be an ‘x’ with each video, so you could make it go away. Well, I used that a lot to keep up with what I already watch or things I wasn’t interested in. Then, when things were cleared, you could “load more” and move on.
Now? Now I have to load more and more, and I get a subscription timeline of tons of videos. I makes it almost impossible to keep up, because you can also see the favorite/add to playlist/etc activity!
After a few weeks since my last forum comments on IMDb, which I only visit for rating films and shows and almost never hang out at the boards any longer, I ended up looking at my comment history and found a post on the Shirley Holmes board…
Of course I ended up searching for “shirley holmes” on YouTube… lo and behold!
Meredith Henderson is living in L.A. and is a gamer~~~ I did not expect that, ever. She’s a full-on gaming dork too, getting excited over Comic Con and all. I didn’t understand half the things she talked about because I don’t game, but loads of my friends do.
I also ended up finding a copy of Espanol Latino Shirley Holmes! El Caso de la Bruja Wannabe with — of course — Shelley Duvall of The Shining. xD Espanol Latino dubs are hard to come by in full episodes, even though I have the first seasons of Shirley Holmes on tape with that dub. I wish I could come by the last season.
I have been waiting patiently for a number of years for a DVD release of that show.
Also buy right away… or you’ll end up with over-priced copies of them like Are You Afraid of the Dark xD which are around $100-$300 dollars per season (7 in total). But… if you have no issues in paying around $2k for a show on DVD, be my guest… LOL
Did you ever noticed that “as seen in” feature some YouTube video uploads have?
I always wondered how to get a YAM Magazine one [which eventually did happen], so I’m wondering how this works. I suppose that YouTube picks up a pingback because it’s Google… and everything is interconnected now.
This one turned out to be really awesome, if I may say so myself.
Of course, I have been trying to put this together since last year, LOL – so it’d better be good, right? Though, I know there are some repeat tracks if you’ve followed the blog, I think it’s fair to say that the combination of songs has a nice flow. It’s turned out to be a really moody list~
You can check my previous Chinese Music Playlists [1][2]
I could be wrong, but streaming in different sites is not that good for hits, right? Why not just show it in MUBI? After all, don’t you want people to sign up? Anyway, it’s nice that MUBI YouTube lets you embed a whole movie! xD
Not really the best of captures, but we’ll take what we can with YouTube removing stuff. Once again, YouTube users~~~ contact me in order to figure out how to keep the videos online. Your upload credits will be kept.
Thanks hirokisakurajima for the upload~
OMG, Yu-chan plays the piano!!!
I had read about that, but never actually believed it… you know, it is the internet.
By the way, her last Ongaku appearance… which was uploaded by rocking user aoinohoho is gone because YouTube deleted the account – understandable. Aoinohoho, if you still visit the site would love to get hold of those videos.
Which leads me to a rant. Seriously Japan broadcasters, REALLY? As if you’re going to release interviews for sale. Even the likes of Letterman, and all those night shows have clips online. What’s up with that!?
Hi, VEVO… and Sony Music Entertainment – like I’ve said time and time again… You Suck.
What’s the point of a “video premiere” online if you’re gonna be blocking content by region? And it’s not like we can’t view the video from Pink’s official website, right? I mean, to put it in words~~~
Pretty much anyone outside the US, can’t see Pink’s Raise Your Glass video. Not helping with view counts, let me tell you. And it’s not like it’s Pink’s fault. I’ts not the artists fault… it’s the record company… and VEVO for teasing — making us belief that when clicking the link, we will be able to see, but giving us that “blocked content” message instead.
Sony, stop sucking the fun of the internet.

Anyway… about the video? I like Dave Meyers, he’s fun. He works fun times with Pink, but I don’t love the video. Sure, I’ve replayed it more than five times already since it premiered, but that’s mainly because I want to sing along to the song.
Okay… did anyone else had troubles getting the feed? I was using my Chrome, and switched to Firefox… and even dared to open the crummy Explorer. I checked if my plugins were updated (they were), and I even downloaded the newest version of Java – which I usually avoid.
Still, all I got was the red loading.
I know it’s not only me, because I saw a ton of messages, but I wonder why it was such a bust. I mean, a lot of other people do live streams fine. Last night I had a fine experience at NPR and the Jonsi concert. Why do Vevo and YouTube need to make such a fuzz with technology?
I gave up after trying to get the feed for 30min. 30 MIN!!!!!
My dad thought it funny I find cover versions of the Beatles, so we ended up finding a few in Japanese, but this one coming from Malaysian singer Maggie Wong & the Jungle Lynxs sounds super fun!
