Archives For magazine shoot

Photographed by Hong Jang Hyun.

I feel I shouldn’t be posting these, hahaha. But you know, Julz sent them… and I have nothing to post at the moment, so I figured some people should see them xD

So I’m linking this time.

For the full set, NSFW… I mean, looking at bikinis catalogs at work is kinda creepy — go to Eiffel in Seoul.

Yu Aoi for Anan

June 4, 2010 — 1 Comment

Trivia bit?

This issue came out on March 2010. Yu also appears on the Anan covers for March 2009 and March 2008. And she’s got at least 5 Anan covers in total, though I dunno their dates.

How I noticed? I name my photoshoot files with name of magazine and date of publication, and if possible… photographer, though that usually happens with publications in English.

The newest issue of So-En Magazine (yes, the famous one with Yu as a boy) has recently hit the stands with Yu on the cover once again. As you can see, the cover is sporting the look for Yu’s newest Photo Exhibit and upcoming Photobook Uso. (Lie.). So she’s pushing hard to promote this.

Maybe it is because I didn’t know my sources well, but if I recall correctly when Portugirl came out, there wasn’t much promotion for it, at least not that I recall people blogging about it.

Anyway, I found this info on Japanese Streets, where they guide on how to get issues of So-En magazine, which by the way is a renowned fashion magazine that started in 1936. 1936!!! Otherwise, you can get it on Amazon Japan, or somehow get it from Bunka Publishing ~~~ and… you can pre-order Uso. over at HMV Japan.

by the way… anyone attend the event on the 29th? or anyone attending the exhibit?
would love to hear from you.

Julz reporting with these hot photos of TOP.
and I had a vision of him with my favorite Mori Girl.

Okay, I wish she looked less like a little gnome,
and hotter in par with TOP here, but oh well~

Photographs by Jang-hyeon Hong (홍장현)

Seriously, K-Pop fans… you’d look a whole lot less creepy if you decided to post photography credits. They were right there on the Vogue website! I hope I romanized the photographer’s name correctly.

I think the website that had the scans for the Boys Style So-En photoshoot is gone, so I took some of my late night hours, un-watermarked and cleaned up the images for re-posting.

Call it… Yu Aoi archiving purposes. LOL

Photos by Mie Morimoto, but you know~ It’s all about the style in this one, right?
Stylist: Junko Kobashi
Hair & Makeup: Takayuki Miyamori [who also did Yu as a Mori Girl]

Yu Aoi for Jane Magazine

March 12, 2010 — 9 Comments

It’s been quiet in the Yu Aoi news lately (weird, considering Otouto was released), so I did my usual search on Google and came up with a couple of things. First, that cover.

Two, my HMV order is supposed to get shipped the coming 24th [Salyu’s new album with DVD, Shiina Ringo old albums], and I’m actually pretty excited to get the back issue of Eye Scream magazine with one of my favorite Yu magazine shoots. I think I’ve crossed that fan line with that buy… LOL

I swear, this is the first time I’ve bought a magazine for a photoshoot with my “fave idol”.

If I could have my way, I would have Yu do all her PBs with Yoko Takahashi… or Marisa Shimamoto… and finally Keiichi Nitta. If I could have my way. Of course, Mario Testino would be awesome too. xD

And finally… Anyone know what this article is about? Many news on this, and one of them Google-translated as “Aoi Yu produced” but I doubt she’s producing, or she’ll be all promoting in her website.

ps. I’m fascinated with how those shoes work with the socks…
and the bombachos ha! And that smile is so damn contagious…

How about some Carmen Miranda in Las Vegas?
or Brigitte Bardot as a Geisha? or… Frida Kahlo in Bollywood?

xD Kristen Wiig is pretty funny, and takes this photoshoot to a nice place with the help of photographer Tom Allen. Though his site forwards you to Streeters.com, which kinda sucks coz it’s on Flash and you gotta check the whole site instead of just heading to PHOTOGRAPHER > TOM ALLEN.

Tina Few will be gracing the cover of Vogue on March 2010, with photographs by Peruvian photographer Mario Testino. Funniest part? Fey’s Testino accent…

“You look like Stephanie Seeeee-mour.” Her favorite moment: “At one point I was posing for him, and he was talking from behind the camera and he was like, ‘You have to fliiiirt, darleeeng. You have to bee-leeve you are wuuuurthy to be on the cover.’

On the interview she covers normalcy, hand-me downs, mom jeans, power-suits, award season fashion, wardrobe on a movie set… her new film, and much more.

Asami Mizukawa for Playboy?

LOL’

I never expected to see Playboy Japan, let alone post about it. Photos and style seem different, no? Reminds me of the French Playboy edition with Juliette Binoche. Super class!
