Archives For Films

Aha! It’s time for a recap of films I have seen… truth be told, I haven’t seen AS MANY films as previous times, as I recall. There’s been entire weeks when I didn’t see any… and not even mentioning music~~ you will see.

Okay, so I managed to cross some names from my movie list. But the list has also increased a bit, LOL! Which means trouble, hahaha. This list of films is never ending.

So these are the films I’ve seen:

Ok, I admit it. I went to watch The Dark Knight today with my The Joker tee. Call me a crazy fangirl! xD Long story short, me likey. Go watch The Dark Knight this weekend, it won’t disappoint. Word. It’s dark, it’s serious… has action, gets you to the edge of your seat. And yes, the main attraction will be Heath Ledger’s freak interpretation of messed up The Joker. Okay! SPOILERS AHEAD! <-that’s a warning, I still don’t know how much spoiling I will write.

Does anyone know the criteria on how IMDb moderates their posts? Most importantly… its threads?

You see, I saw YPF over the weekend. Yes, dubious~~~ But I’m so gonna buy it! So there was this “talk dirty scene” with Carly Pope and Aaron Abrams from the segment “Friends” I knew the scene was in, but it still makes you burst out laughing.

Anyway, I went to the IMDb boards and someone created a thread about it over the weekend, so it was a surprise to visit and find that the thread has been completely wiped. Thoughts? Censoring, or spoilers?? The film is calle Young People Fucking, for dude’s sake!

IMDb - Threads Deletion

So I invite you to talk about the film (specifically the ‘talk dirty’ scene) in this post. Does anyone have the quote? LOL’

inside the gold’s following of Nine made me wonder…

Yes, Nine will have a pretty heavy list of credits when the trailer comes out. You can just imagine…

Nine… starring

Double Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis, Academy Award Winner Marion Cotillard, Academy Award Winner Judi Dench, Academy Award Winner Sophia Loren, Academy Award Winner Nicole Kidman, Academy Award Nominee Penelope Cruz
Directed by Academy Award Winner Rob Marshall.

Which made me, and other people, wonder if there had been other heavily Oscar Winner projects. I can’t really think of anything at the top of my head, but I was checking IMDb (and got side-tracked a little), and I didn’t come up with anything. Hahahaha.

From just trailers, I thought Burn After Reading did a pretty filled Academy Award credited film. Let’s see… I had to check some of the credits, but I don’t think it does as Oscar-studded as Nine. Here goes~~

Burn After Reading starring…

Academy Award Winner George Clooney, Academy Award Winner Tilda Swinton, Academy Award Winner Frances McDormand, Academy Award Nominee Brad Pitt, Academy Award Nominee John Malkovich

Written and directed by Academy Award Winners Ethan and Joel Coen.

I could even stretch this a WHOLE lot more and say Cold Mountain was pretty Oscar-studded. LOL. Considering some of the actors earned their nominations and winnings after the film xD. Check this out…

Cold Mountain starring…

Academy Award Winner Nicole Kidman, Academy Award Winner Renee Zellweger, Academy Award Winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, Academy Award Nominee Jude Law, Academy Award Nominee Natalie Portman.

Directed by Academy Award Winner Anthony Minghella

Have you got any project that is Oscar-studded??

After Penelope’s win last night/tonight ~ Here’s how the Nine trailer would be.

Nine… starring

Double Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis, Academy Award Winner Marion Cotillard, Academy Award Winner Judi Dench, Academy Award Winner Sophia Loren, Academy Award Winner Nicole Kidman, Academy Award WINNER Penelope Cruz
Directed by Academy Award Winner Rob Marshall.

or…

Starring all of these Academy Award winners:
Double-winner Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz.

How rocking is Tilda Swinton?? Very rocking indeed!

Apparently, she will begin a film fest of her own called The Ballerina Ballroom Cinema of Dreams, in her hometown of Nairn in Scotland. No biggies, no red carpet madness… just love for movies. Best part of it? Tickets for the films (apparently Tilda’s favorites, and some others) will be £3 (GBP) or… baked goodies (yes, baked goodies… yum), meaning home-made cookies, home-made cupcakes or anything home-made stuff u can come up with, I suppose. Hmm… home-made cupcakes~~~ my aunt should send her some. Tilda would love. xD

Yes, I had the best banana cake-yness just two days ago. My aunt makes the best home-made baked goodies.

Festival will run from August 15 to August 23, and you don’t have to worry about uncomfortable seats because apparently Tilda will be using beanbags. I hope they’re not like my cousin’s beanbag… because there are nice beanbags, but my cousin’s is not one of them~~

I am NOT against dubbing… I have read that some people with viewing difficulties prefer watching dubbed films, and I respect that. This is why I’m titling this “Only-Dubbed,” I don’t have a problem with dubbing a movie, but what bothers me is not having the option of watching the subtitled version of it.

Don’t forget that Centro Cultural Peruano Japones will be showing Shinobu Yaguchi’s Waterboys and Swing Girls this month.

It’s been like a month and a half since I last blogged about the music I’ve been listening. Of course I’m totally loving my Salyu albums since last post, and have been digging my Japanese trend these past few weeks… you wouldn’t believe. Everything Asian… le sigh. xD Including a lot of Asian films, therefore a lot of Asian Soundtrack additions because Amy loves her some soundtrack music.

So… I saw the Linda Linda Linda movie the other day, and I got the songs stucked in my head. LOL’ The film released 2 soudntracks of sorts… One the official soundtrack, and one 6-track album performed by the actresses of the film as PARAN MAUM (Meaning Blue Hearts in Korean, referring to the * Blue Hearts covers).

* The original soundtrack contains 3 of the 6 tracks in “we are PARANMAUM” with bits with less lyrics.

  1. RINDA RINDA (Linda Linda) *
  2. Boku no Migite (My Right Hand) *
  3. Owaranai Uta (Never-ending Song) *
  4. Aoi Kokoro (Underneath Heart)
  5. BIZU Saiku (Beading)
  6. SON no BARUDO (Son’s Ballad)

Best title for like EVER. LOL’

The film was a little TOO bizarre for me, but it does get some very funny moments, and I couldn’t help but post a collage of capture of the first half of the film with Yu Aoi with an electrical perm, Juri Ueno with her perm, and funny faces and expressions, including Azuki Panda-chan~~ and the “hue hue hue hue hue” laugh, and “puan~” moments.
