I don’t really hunt down anything Twilight and I’ve been a lousy Buffy fan since my re-watch in 2006, but Joss has just posted this video of Buffy vs. Edward in which they overlap the different ideas presented by both materials to hilarious contrast that comes in an assortment of subtitles that include Portuguese (Brazilian or Portuguese), English captioning, Chinese Simplified, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, French, Spanish, etc — all brought to you by fans.

My re-imagined story was specifically constructed as a response to Edward, and what his behavior represents in our larger social context for both men and women. More than just a showdown between The Slayer and the Sparkly Vampire, it’s also a humorous visualization of the metaphorical battle between two opposing visions of gender roles in the 21ist century.

Mom, I know you’re inside those blue eyes somewhere and that there are so many things that you won’t understand tonight, but this is the only important one to take in: I love you, I love you, I love you. And I hope that if I say this three times, it will magically and perfectly enter into your soul, fill you with grace, and the joy of knowing that you did good in this life. You’re a great mom. Please take that with you when you’re finally OK to go.

I’ve finally fallen for Kwai Lun-Mei’s charms.

I first saw her in the not-so-bad, Taipei Exchanges, but it wasn’t until promotion for Flying Swords of Dragon Gate had started that I had begun sorta having a lady-boner for her because she gave me such rocking vibes a-la-Tilda-Swinton. Then, of course, I saw the movie and it seemed like a done deal. She was fun, rough, rocking and quite the show-stealer with the way she talked, her dreadlocks… that look in her eyes.

She was an insolent fothermucker. I loved it.

Then during my trip to Taiwan, I kept seeing her on some cellphone commercial being all giggly sending funny SMS and using cute emoticons. But nothing much came of this half-lady-boner until watching Gf*Bf. After that, I was done for. Maybe it’s because the movie is actually damn good, but her performance in there actually sealed the deal for me.

I think… I might have become a fan for life.

I was watching Erik Lamens’ SM-rechter (SM Judge) because… well, because I couldn’t resist the synopsis of a judge being wrongly accused of abusing his wife when they were only into SM. It’s all a true story to boot!

All throughout the film, I kept thinking Veerle Dobbelaere looked a lot like Famke Janssen had a lovechild with Andie MacDowell — with a dash of Noomi Rapace. I’m still uncertain why I thought of Noomi, but the Famke and MacDowell connections are there at plain view.

I think the Noomi bit could have been due to Dobbelaere’s final outburst. But I could totally see Famke Janssen doing this role, if there ever — heaven forbids!! — were a Hollywood version of it.

Look at that flawless face.

An advanced screening of Yoji Yamada’s Tokyo Kazoku [1] was held prepping for its imminent release on January 19th.

Time flies by. It seems like yesterday when they finally announced they were shooting the movie.

In the movie front… no signs of Vampire on DVD.

Maybe I am the only person in the world who saw actress Bérénice Marlohe on Skyfall and thought of Meisa Kuroki. Am I? Is it crazy? Not… maybe? A little? Come on, they do look alike, right?

berenice marlohe meisa kuroki

Both mixed-race — apparently Marlohe is part Chinese/Cambodian/French, while Kuroki is Japanese (possibly Okinawan???)/Brazilian — thought early web talk stated her dad was part Panamanian instead. So there you go, the internet. And they’re like 10 years apart from each other.

I don’t think neither of them are stellar actresses — but somehow, I’m still rooting for Meisa Kuroki to pull through after the 2012 that she’s gone through, LOL. Now that is crazier than thinking these two look alike. xD

You know Jackie Chan’s upcoming movie, Chinese Zodiac (十二生肖) [Trailer], which has so much numerology~~~ twelve signs, opening on December 12 of 2012. And you know Jackie Chan is best-buds with Leehom [1] … so much so that Jackie smooches Leehom for fun, so Leehom is apparently doing the main song for the movie because this song is titled like the movie.

It’s so chinked-out. Reminiscent of his The 18 Martial Arts album, which I have already gotten accustomed to. I kinda love the song, not a solid 4/5, but possibly close to it at first few listens.
