Archives For Celebrity

While the regular edition of l’Officiel has Katy Perry on the cover, l’Officiel China — which is celebrating 32 years of something — has Gong Li on the cover. There’s an accompanying piece (in Chinese) if you’re interested [link].

Also, I found a new photographer! Very excited when I googled his name and ended up looking at some very awesome fashion shoots and celebrity portraits. Sadly his Weibo isn’t so active :( His name is Feng Hai (冯海), in case you need his name in Chinese characters xD

冯海是天才的摄影师啊!

Anyway, Gong Li is always class. She looks stunning, and the styling of the photograph is great as well, but since my Chinese is so poor, I haven’t been able to find the info I want. ~~~

Very Japanese Trailer of you, Tokyo Kazoku xD

Though, no sign of Yu-chan.

I mean, it makes sense it’s only like 10 seconds of actual footage xD the film began shooting just short of two months ago. We still got a long wait ahead of us… Having said that, I think my Japanese drama language will work out for me with this one, so I just have to wait for a DVD and not actual subtitles xD

Has anyone noticed that there’s so many un-subbed Japanese movies as of lately? Like, every time there’s a movie worth-watching~ SORRY, NO SUBS! And since the dismissal of upload sites, there’s been a lot of non-fansub activity.

Are all you fansubbers hiding from me???

Oh.Ma.Gosh.

I knew Bibi could do impersonations, but this is too much. Positively good and quite hilarious. I’m not a very huge Bruno Mars fan, I think he’s composition (especially lyrics-wise) and performance in general could improve, but I’m not denying him some merits. His singles are pleasantly catchy.

I’m a huge Bibi fan, but I’ve often talked about what I think her performances are lacking. So as the years have gone by, I think this is the first year that I’ve seen her completely comfortable performing live. Those hints of awkwardness are gone giving way to something in her eyes, something within her that makes her at ease on stage.

Like she’s allowed to be silly on stage without worries.

Dude, she did a little number on Beyonce’s Single Ladies [1], Lady Gaga’s Born this Way [1], and I can’t mention enough how she killed it when she did that Aaron Kwok number [1].

I’m a loving this Bibi.

— EDIT —

YouTube version has just made its appearance.

Of course, it’s Yu’s birthday, (She is 27 now!!!) and my Weibo timeline was flooded with Yu-chan photos all this time wishing her a happy birthday. xD

Anyway, one of the pics was this one of Yu with her Canon-sisters Yamada Yu and Kaho, birthday cake, candles, and all.

Isn’t Weibo the BEST?

お誕生日おめでとう、蒼井優!

Of course it’s not, but~ it could be. xD

If you follow Tony Leung’s career… or the Chinese movie scene in general, you’d know there’s a movie coming up called The Silent War (聽風者 or 听风者) — actually, it has just come out — featuring Leung alongside Zhou Xun and Mavis Fan (these two are in everything together??) xD.

Anyway, BiBi was at the movie’s premiere~

And she sang the theme of Infernal Affairs [MV] in Mandarin ‘coz Tony is there. xD

She did good :) She’s been sounding good lately despite audio problems generally found in CCTV broadcasts. Seriously, it’s like… no matter how good a singer you are, all CCTV performances sound like crap. Not even Leehom or Faye Wong can escape.

Also, Mavis is the only one truly enjoying the performance. xD

And Tony Leung’s left side looks super old compared to his right side.

Guh, Li Bingbing~~~ I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE ALMOST 40. I am… pure shock. I am pure shock that your Hollywood debut is about to be, and you’re nearly 40. Fabulous at 40, indeed.

This is Li Bingbing in a series of photoshoots for Comfort, Vogue, Cosmo, Elle, Hotspot, l”Officiel, In Style, and one photo I can’t identify with Li Bingbing with the jacket, lips on her t-shirt and suspenders. Anyone know where that comes from?

Dudes, so they finally released a finished version of the music video [1] xD which has atrocious rainbow-colored English lyrics xD But you can check some funny remarks and a quickie English translations from Beijing Cream.

You can also check a slightly better quality version of the video on YinYueTai — but still not crisp enough to be able to read the tiny English caption xD

I’m rather surprised I only know a little over +30 names xD and a little more of the faces, including a brief apperance by Ajia [1] and Li Yu Gang (李玉刚) whom… you know, you can’t totally tell from just the audio. I’m also rather SHOCKED that I didn’t get Song Zuying from early on the song but her later bit xD

Judging from the song alone (okay, and a bit of the video), Sa Dingding did great. This was her Beijing Welcomes You   [MV] 5-sec Bibi moment for me. xD The song is no Beijing Welcomes You, though. And I love some of Chang Shilei’s stuff. His 2008 Niu China album was my favorite that year, and he does produce some great songs like I Would Say to Them (对他说我愿意) [1] or HIGH歌 — OMG, are you watching The Voice of China [clip] [1]? xD

Also, the video is pretty cheap. Walking down a shelves of book of… what I supposed is the Beijing library or something. xD And also the people that weren’t in Beijing and obviously couldn’t be flown to shoot for the video because of budget. I’m looking at you guys, Eason and Aaron~~~ and Kelly Chen xD

Liu Huan, Na Ying, Harlem Yu, and Yang Kun. I mean, dude- Liu Huan alone would trump Christina Aguilera. LOL And I have a soft spot for Christina Aguilera [1], but imagine participating and singing in front of Liu Huan, and having HIM picking YOU to be on HIS team.

His pitch-perfect and perfect-toned-singing-Mandarin.

I would maybe… MAYBE… change Harlem Yu over someone like Wang Feng. But that’s just me. These are all seasoned singers and vocalists (I can’t label Liu Huan as just a singer, sorry).

So the Chinese version of The Voice, aptly titled The Voice of China (中国好声音, Zhong Guo Hao Sheng Yin), has made its debut about two weeks ago. I’ve only seen the first episode, but I already like the judges selection better because you’re being judged by people already in their 40s or 50s who have been working in the industry for years — not a bunch of people in their 30s who have been barely working for 10 years.

And Liu Huan has been working as a music teacher for the past 10 years, besides still being a music icon, so he’s perfect. Plus, I’ve already taken a strong dislike to Adam Levine, whom I used to find so attractive. LOL I can’t stand him EVER again. xD How people change.

My dad is going to be crazy about this one.

Another four years, another Olympic ceremony [1].

After the Mandarin-class-favorite song of Beijing Welcomes You [1], Jackie Chan — ever the eager kid in class — has managed to gather even more artists willing to lend their voices than for the Beijing Welcomes You song, which boasted an impressive number of music stars.

No music video of Beijing Blesses You (北京祝福你) has been released… yet. But there are clips of the making of the MV [1] doing their rounds on YouTube and Sina Video, so we’re all up and guessing who’s singing which line in the massive 8min. song. It wasn’t enough for Jackie to get more names than the Olympic committee… no, he needed a song that’s even a bit longer.

I think it’s pretty fact that Han Hong is at 1.11. The rest are up for grabs from the likes of Leehom, Chris Lee, Sa Dingding, and BiBi~ going through the voices of Li Bingbing and Fan Bingbing. So there you go. xD

Video is here, if you’re interested. xD
