Archives For Celebrity

This is the theme for Leehom Wang’s directorial debut Love in Disguise, premiering August Thursday 12th, right on time for the debut of his new album 18 Martial Arts… which I am already pre-ordering (plus, re-packaged Jing Chang’s album xD and other stuff from YesAsia… thankyouverymuch).

I feel the MV spoils the film though, but that’s just me. The song’s good, though.

5th single already? If you paid attention, I posted Jing Chang’s 4th single just a week ago.

Otherwise known as 義氣 (Yi Qi), referring to the spirit of loyalty and self-sacrifice. Aiya They Didn’t is reporting Jing Chang will be releasing a re-packaged album by the end of the week (Aug. 13th), which will include:

  • 6 music videos [4 singles + Loyalty + 不再聯絡 (Bu Zai Lian Luo) – Lose Contact]
  • a Loyalty commemoration poster
  • a Mending card [is this Hao Le?]
  • and a birthday party invitation (????) xD

Not sure why this is a 5th single, since it’s not included in the copy I’ve listened of The Opposite Me, but it’s kind of a nice rock/dance song. Kinda weird… but I could dig.

I’m considering purchasing this re-packaged album. Seems like a good deal.

;P

I’m lazy, don’t wanna make a Top10.

I hate photographing social events, mainly because I’m anti-social. Also because social events are usually all about who you photograph, and them posing, and faking their smiles. There’s nothing I hate more about photos than fake-smiling. But alas, we must photograph those sometimes… not so much about social events parties, but the events themselves.

I have a few rules that I follow. They might be strange rules, and nobody probably does it because they’re not anti-social like me, but I always keep them in mind.

– I never call out celebrities so I can take pictures of them. I don’t want them to see me — I do carry weird hair, and that calls attention… but that just goes with the hair — I don’t want them to look into my camera. I like that when they don’t look at my camera, it feels voyeuristic. LOL

– I never use flash. Flash is hard on the skin – mind you, sometimes events are so badly lit, it’s impossible to take photos without it. However, in those cases, sometimes I borrow/steal other people’s flashes. I believe the use of flash is only appropriate on studio settings, because when flash is used in a natural or “non-set-up” setting, it just makes it look out of place.

Plus, women who aren’t necessarily made-up like models for a shoot look rough with a flash hitting on their faces. Clear skin women looks very pale like zombies… and overall, people have shiny skin. Plus PLUS, flash in these cases make wrinkles pop up as if they were the grand canyon.

I have a lot of issues with flash.

– A natural pose is better than Pose-Hard. I rather catch a person standing naturally in conversation with someone else, than having to photograph them standing in pose and smiling at cameras.

– Be a tourist. I love photographing the stages and how the light hits different parts of the scenery. It makes the event about the place, as well as the people behind it. You know, the people who work on the stage and the lights.

So having said that, these are my Top5 Tips for Red Carpets Events from my photographing point of views – as well as a viewer at home ;P

I swear to god, Asians release single after single. It’s been like 2 weeks? And BoA has already release this 2nd single… which is more dance, and I dig more than Game. I still think she looks potentially Hyori-ish with the blond hair, but I also think that this blond hair washes her out.

Having said that. BoA dances in here. She can’t still match that rocking choreography on I Eat You Up, but this one is more my flare. This is her forte.

Only without the Cannes part. xD

The Lima Film Fest opened tonight, at a freezing night for reporters. I saw people shivering, but we had to wait outside for people to go in before us… and you know I don’t do “social photos” I HATE, LOATH the social section on magazine and newspapers. So I decided to take more photos of the sceneries xD

And then camera people screamed at people “please, such-and-such a pose for this side too” so I felt obliged to take photos. And you know I hate using flash, even though it’s so dark… but I like blurry grainy photos anyway… so when I was going through the few photos I took, I thought… Hmm… wouldn’t they look nice in black and white?

So this is me trying some “classic” look.

I’m thinking of writing a 10 Tips for a Better Red Carpet event list. xD
Remember guys, it’s PASO, PASO, POSE. Not PASO, PASO, PASO… OKAY I’M GONE.

Check out the whole set here.

OMG, yes. Make this happen soon. Gong Li and Andy Lau look so hot together. xD

That’s 4 singles as videos, people. Broken is still my favorite song of her album, but Ni Shi Wei Yi (The One) was also one of the good tracks. There were a couple of good tracks…

Actually, I didn’t really love the album, I just really REALLY loved Broken. xD

This video was like Goku (Dark Hair Jing Chang) turned into Saiyan (Blond) riding on a “giant” raven. xD

Based on the manga by Fumi Yoshinaga, Ooku — refering to the quarters of the Shogun’s female companions — tells the story of a fictional Edo era in Japan where women have become the dominant members of society, and males are sought after to reproduce.

Actress Kou Shibasaki will be playing the female shogun.

This made me think of the comic Y: The Last Man, which was the first ever comic I got into due to my roommate wanting me to read it. If you haven’t read it, do give it a look. You can be blown away.

As for the movie, the trailer kinda game me chills. Kou Shibasaki as the Shogun, such a marvelous idea. What’s Kazunari Ninomiya to do? xD

You’ll have to excuse my Japanese. Is the English translation “The Most Beautiful Me”? Okay, I had a listen to most of Nakashima’s discography, after I was totally team Nana xD She strikes me as a emotionless-goth sometimes, and then the other times she strikes me as a total emo. However, I kinda dig her music.

She sounds great on Ichiban Kirei na, and somehow with my understanding of the lyrics… they seemed kinda poetic. I mean, the kind of lyrics that I like from Asian songs in general. Like having to sing about “that time in winter” and stuff like that. I like it when songs talk about the seasons and the elements, hahaha.

I think this song is the theme for Unubore Deka.

At last! I had seen this video about 2 weeks ago and was waiting for Typhoon to upload it because the version I had seen was a TV capture and it was fullscreen.

In Chan Mian Jing, Bibi is all eclectic again. I think her hair is really great, she has had great hair since she moved to Typhoon – why are we discussing this? Well, because we already know Bibi can sing. She can’t dance, but she can sing. So Bibi’s biggest obstacle is looking and acting like an idol. I really suggest Typhoon moves away from this. Yeah, make her look sleek… I even admitted she looked really great on Canned Fish without the glasses and the long hair, but I also said she didn’t look like Bibi. So I appreciate that Typhoon let Bibi use her dark-rimmed glasses for this video, but the eclectic look doesn’t go with it.

So keep Bibi’s hair styles and colors, keep the glasses… and please, put Bibi on a well-tailored suit with a Motown sound. Her voice can deal with it.

As for the music here? I liked it, the song is one of the highlights in style from an album that has a LOT of types of music. She experimented a lot with different sounds. It feels you’re going through different music eras when you listen to it. For instance, there was a song that sounded so much like Stevie Wonder, and then  I Miss U Missing Me sounds very late-90s, while Canned Fish sounds early 2000s and One-Way Mirror sounds mid-2000s LOL.
