Archives For Trailers

‘Tis the trailer season… too many of them, and they will probably keep on being released.

This time around, it’s all about Aoi Miyazaki and trailers for two of her upcoming films. First of the trailer for her — tear-jerking — drama OKAN no Yomeiri, in which her mother (Shinobu Otake), after one wild drinking night, brings a younger man who apparently is ready to marry her… out of the blue – Seriously, this starts out like a comedy… until Miyazaki’s character discovers her mom is *dramatic music* dying.

And the second one is an animated film based on the award-winning novel by Eto Mori, about a spirit who is placed into the body of a teenager who has just committed suicide, so the spirit is able to get a second chance at life. INTERESTING!

I still feel like this trailer is too loud. I don’t want to say I hate the music, but it’s not the type of music I like to listen to in a movie I thought was quiet. LOL Oh! I know what it is… it’s the placing of that particular song in the overall trailer. Looking just at the images, you get the sense of quiet, and they seem to have kept the scariness of Oskar’s character… even if they made Eli’s character a complete girl now.

I still like both young actors. The Road was quite dreary in a good way.

not tagging this as trailer because Harry Potter trumps this LOL

*EDIT*
Look! It’s s a Ain’t it Cool SPOILERY Review from someone who’s seen a screening.

Ugh, still can’t get used to MUBI.

Anyway~ The guys at the site formerly known as The Auteurs are letting you watch some of the films screening at the Libertas Film Fest in Croatia.

My personal favorite was the animated short Guliver, which sorta reminded me of Tim Burton’s style… but you know, about Guliver, in a much more grim setting.

All I know is that you can only watch it through MUBI with an account, which is FREE. You can join, and watch it. They always have a bunch of free stuff, and free stuff is always good. xD

If you’re still not sure, here’s the trailer~

I want to say I have rekindled my affairs with Harry Potter fandom, but I still don’t approve of Warner’s decision of making this a 2-part film, as well as the Fake 3D conversion. I also don’t approve of the Epilogue. LOL

I was talking to some friends last week, and they also disapproved the Epilogue. In fact, they said Deathly Hallows was the weakest book of the whole series — Testing the waters, I told them I thought Half-blood Prince was also weak, and to my surprise… they also agreed.

My friend’s favorite book is Azkaban, followed by Phoenix. FYI.

I really want to feel giddy, but things that jumped out~~~ Ginny is taller than Harry. I feel sad for Daniel Radcliffe, whom I totally love, but oh! If he only were taller!

Then there’s Ron protecting (or is he pulling) Hermione reminded me of Harry protecting her against the werewolf. I’m trying not to be shippy, but that just sort of brought back that scene.

Harry has high on drugs eyes when he meets Voldie.

And that snake looks like crap.

Lee Hom does everything. He writes his own music, plays like 14 instruments… since he’s American, he learned to speak Mandarin… and Cantonese… and Japanese… and he even speaks French. Etc. Etc.

To make things short, Lee Hom is a pretty awesome musician.

And he’s acted before… not so sure about Moon Child, but Ang Lee’s Lust, Caution is a VERY good project to have on your CV… and now, Love in Disguise is his debut as a director.

call me crazy, but this reminded me of Nodame Cantabile. It’s the music setting. Plus, big points for Joan Chen ;P not tagging this as a trailer yet.

Also, subtitled come from the Official Wang Lee Hom channel. Now they only need to add his videos, so I don’t need to read “Sony BMG doesn’t allow the stream of this video in your region” Argh!

Oh, Jay~
Why did you have to open your mouth and talk. LOL

You look cool doing your kicking, but all your dialog didn’t do it for me. Having said that… I do find Seth Rogen slimness, kind of unsettling because during the first frames, there was some quiver… then he spoke and it was gone. Phew.

But this is Michel Gondry, right? So I’m still watching it.

BTW, I hate the way they say “KAY-TOH” UGH. Never heard the English audio for The Green Hornet, so I actually grew up with how normal people say Kato. xD

I don’t know if you had heard about Disney’s Rapunzel that suddenly got changed to Tangled. Anyway, the trailer for Tangled, the animated Disney film formerly known as Rapunzel, just hit the net.

And I’m loving it.

Especially because it’s set to Pink’s Trouble music.
I love that album, and that song rocks.

and the trailer is so SO funny.

Look! It’s the girl from Center Stage!

Hmm… seems like these films take FOREVER to be released.

Not gonna tag this as trailer yet, because I need a graphic, and I’m gonna miss that photo of Yu-chan from Raiou… LOL but it seems like Shanghai doesn’t have a distributor in America? What? Is it because the only major American star there is Cusack and the rest are Asian? But it’s got Harvey!

Gong Li is pure hotness here.

And though Kikuchi is not credited on this Chinese trailer, I’m pretty sure she’s in it. As well as Franka Potente. Both will probably show up in the Japanese trailer, and the International trailer.

Raiou Gets a Teaser

May 14, 2010 — 6 Comments

Woah~ seems like Yu is everywhere this May.
I’m loving it.

Like I’ve said before, Yu’s face on Raiou seems flawless. And she seems more grown up, I was a little taken by that. I feel so proud. LOL even though I’m younger… This is the Yu I like, the one that acts. I’m all over the voice she uses on that teaser. The screaming, it reminds me of Shiro.
