Hitoride Dekirumon! is another NHK show for children I happen to see on my archived videos. It ran through 1991 to 2006 (quite the long run compared to Occidental children programming). Not entirely sure what the name means, Google Translate shows it as One Possible!, but I’m more inclined to say that Continue Reading…
Eigo de Asobo (in its original 1990 title display 英語であそぼ, or in hiragana えいごであそぼ), meaning… I think, Play in English or Let’s Play in English. Well, I actually didn’t know what the heck ASOBO meant, lol… but I looked it up. (answer here, if you’re interested in use and phrases), is another NHK show I remember catching a glimpse of. I actually went through my video archive on VCR tapes, and I had recorded some of the show during its 1998-2001 period.
According to Japanese Wikipedia, the show began in 1990 and went through several changes (as apparently many Japanese kids shows do), Continue Reading…
I began watching a new old set of tapes (for archiving purposes), and I managed to go through 2 tapes… so that was like 9 hours… in 3 or 4, lol. Anyway, During the viewing, I saw a few clips where Carly Pope was featured, like 25 Hottest Stars Under 25 (by Teen People) which she shared with Brendan Fehr (from Rosswell). Were these two together??? And also, Carly was on 2000’s Nickelodeon’s Kid Choice Awards alongside Leslie Bibb, and some dude from Nickelodeon. Carly had crazy hair back then, lol… and she seemed very catty-friendly with the dude. I thought that was weird because I didn’t remember that at all.
Anyhoo… I got melancholic about seeing her work on time, because she’s been doing a lot Canadian indie films that I don’t get to see. She made Young People Fucking in 2007, and according to someone on the boards it was gonna be a limited release on April 18 this year, but haven’t heard anything about it. I mean, it took me 3 years to get to watch Eighteen and Everyone… and when I was still in Vancouver I was lucky enough to watch Hamster Cage at the movies (Fifth Avenue Cinema ROCKS) and I even got to see Larry Kent (the director of the film) after the film… how awesome is that? Vancouver was great for Carly Pope viewing because I also got to watch a rough cut version of Break a Leg Rosie, which was a surprise because I was not expecting to see Carly at all!
Just a few days ago, I saw a re-run of Dirt on tv, and Carly was there playing Garbo. Hotness. I still have mixed feelings about the show, but being a big Greta Garbo fan… and a big Carly Pope fan, it all makes me giddy to the point of no return~~ And I think it’s fantastic that she’s taking classes, and continuing her studies… and according to her Wikipedia, she IS fluent in French, Italian and Spanish. Though, you never know… it might be the whole same issue there is with how many languages Natalie Portman is fluent in, LOL’
Anyway, I leave you with a lengthy interview that Curve Magazine did to Carly on 2007, I’m guessing. Great read, WORD.
Updating this list!
Since the update on March 18 (just a month ago! Wow, I’m so exact~~), these are the films I’ve seen:
Okay, just saw the film and have been trying to find the lyrics, but no such luck for me. Help?
Continuing with the previous post for Okaasan to Issho, here are the lyrics and some links to one of the songs on the latest version of the show.

Lyrics in Japanese from the NHK with clear audio.
Here’s the romaji:
When my family first got cable, I remember watching NHK. Now, as a person who doesn’t speak Japanese at all, and being a Japanese wannabe… the only programs I could actually follow sans subtitles were kid shows. One of them is the long-lasting Okaasan to Issho, which apparently began showing on October 5h, 1959. I think the first time I saw the show was in 1999… or I could be wrong and be 1998. Anyway, if you don’t know about it… it’s like hmm, Menudo meets Sesame Street, but for really really small kids. I’m guessing 2-3 years old. The show has been inventing and re-inventing itself throughout the years. Changing life-size-puppets, and hosts in their many years. Continue Reading…
I was watching a re-run of How to Eat Fried Worms, and noticed a couple of known kid faces. Like Hallie Kate Eisenberg (most known as the Pepsi girl… or from the movie Paulie, LOL) – Alexander Gould from Weeds… well, I know him from there anyway. And… Ryan Malgarini who I know from The Hot Chick (he played the little brother, ha!). Anyway, it got me thinking that I couldn’t really think of any boy actor who wows me at the moment. I mean, when you think of child actors nowadays, you can immediately name Abigail Breslin (aka. Little Miss Sunshine)… or Dakota Fanning. In my case, I would also mention Jodelle Ferland of course~~
Amy’s having a rubbish couple of days. LOL’ And needs the help of people online…
I’m looking for someone who can help me out with a new WordPress 2.5 installation. Now, this blog and my portfolio runs perfectly fine and dandy on WP 2.5. Last night, I did an installation for someone, using another server and WP 2.5 doesn’t work properly. Case and point; now… if you don’t see anything wrong, take a look at BOTH… one from the new installation, and the other one from this blog.
So I thought maybe it’s my WP 2.5 installation, that’s why I did it again. But I had the same problem, even though I started with a brand new database, and all. So I decided to downgrade to WP 2.3, and yet… I seem to have the same missing stuff.
Is it the server’s fault? WordPress bug? What did I do? T-T I still need to do a clean install of WordPress 2.3… Oh yeah, and the programming nightmare it’s from the theme, of course. Not that I program anything on WP – LOL’ I keep on getting an error with getting the recent comments, and I checked out that I might have to activate something I can’t actually see on my buggy installation of WP. BUM!
— EDIT —
6hrs, later, people! I got WP 2.5 perfectly running, when all of a sudden it crashed with a 500 error. BUM. I did a clean clean, new database install of WP 2.3, and it seemed to work dandy… SO, I upgraded to 2.5 from there, and had the same gone-interface. SO… I went on and did a clean clean, new database install of WP 2.5 twice… second time work good. I was getting my theme on, and the plugins working when BAM! Internal Server Error. My mistake, their mistake?
— EDIT —
1hr. later! After the server 500-crashed on me, I did my last WP 2.5 install. Again, new database… clean clean. It seems to be holding up okay. Keeping an eye over it…
Behold, us mere people. LOL’
TcCandler.com has released its list of the 100 most beautiful faces… female faces, just to make that clear. As past lists, the faces, the names, nationalities and everything is varied. And Natalie, my Natalie… she made it to Numero 1 this year, after being on the list for 11 years. So she’s actually been on the list since probably the release of Leon~~~ SNAP! These guys are good.

My Marion (Cotillard, for those who don’t know) lands on Numero Quatre, after 7 years and dropping from #3 last year. And making it to the Top5 is Katharine McPhee who’s been on the list for 2 years.
