L’Oreal Paris has a bunch of brand ambassadors by region, and they all get invited to Cannes; among them, there’s people like Eva Longoria, Aishwarya and Sonam Kapoor, who all end up walking the festival’s red carpet events, just like last year. This time around, they got them all for this commercial that also credits J.Lo and Blake Lively, even though I don’t really spot them in it.

Those who do make it and aren’t listed, however, include Aishwarya, Sonam Kapoor, and the Bingbings– Fan Bingbing and Li Bingbing. That’s on top of Jane Fonda, and everyone’s faves Julianne Moore and Naomi Watts, who all come together to gather round John Legend.

The idea of them coming together around Legend gave me vibes of that Lux Soap Commercial that Shahrukh Khan did like a decade ago, which featured Hema Malini, Juhi Chawla, Kareena Kapoor, and Sridevi… but then I watched it again, and that one was grosser. xD La Vie en Rose, at least, is a nice soft tune to give you the feeling of floating in the clouds xD

A Scene in the Rain

August 22, 2010 — 7 Comments

Anomalous Material has posted this for the Encore Entertainment blogathon.

So here’s mine. Hopefully they’re not THAT common. Of course, you might be waiting for me to pick the Kiss in the Rain from The Notebook with sizzling Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, or the Kiss in the Summer Rain from Cinema Paradiso… because even though I don’t appear to be, I’m a sucker for romance.

And tonight, I’m in the mood for some romance, so… I’ll pick, the Dare scene under the rain of Jeux d’Enfants, who by the way also made it to my list of Best Kisses, why? Because it’s got Marion, and for some reason I find that movie overly romantic in a very twisted way. LOL

Watch the scene on YouTube. Of course, spoilers.

What do I like about that scene? Maybe it’s how their twisted relationship is build up to that point where they finally realize they are meant to be after all the sick stuff they made each other do. Then you’ve got Sophie arriving after realizing that Julien isn’t really dead, and him realizing the lie he just told. Their respective partners being completely ignored because nothing else matters, and Julien singing La Vie en Rose out of tune.

MixTape – Oldies-a-Mix

April 15, 2009 — 2 Comments

Wow, my iPod has some old music~~ haha. I decided to do a list by year, and foudn that picking a song a year is tough!! And it was a long list, so I thought I could split this up in a few other mixtapes. This one it’s a more varied one starting from 1940 with Carmen Miranda, and ending in 1969 with the Jackson 5. xD After that, I have enough music to do a 10-track mix per decade (one per year). You think?

  1. Carmen Miranda – Mamãe Eu Quero – 1940
  2. Carmen Miranda – Chica Chic Boom Chic – 1941
  3. Carmen Miranda – Não Te Dou a Chupeta – 1942
  4. Edith Piaf – La Vie en Rose – 1946
  5. Edith Piaf – Padam Padam – 1951
  6. Edith Piaf – Bravo pour le Clown! – 1953
  7. Yma Sumac – Indian Carnival – 1954
  8. Edith Piaf – Non Je Ne Regrette Rien – 1960
  9. West Side Story Cast – America – 1961
  10. The Beatles – Hold me Tight – 1963
  11. The Beatles – Can’t Buy me Love – 1964
  12. The Beatles – Help! – 1965
  13. The Mamas and the Papas – California Dreamin’ – 1966
  14. The Beatles – With a Little Help from my Friends – 1967
  15. Simon & Garfunkel – Mrs. Robinson – 1968
  16. The Jackson 5 – I Want Your Bacl – 1969

Continuing with the Best Kisses posts, this is one of my fave films. A dark romantic comedy about Julien and Sophie, who become friends as kids and begin playing a dangerous game of Truth or Dare. Marion Cotillard is truly fantastic on this one, and the various versions of La Vie en Rose make it great.

Since I couldn’t find great captures online, I took some time to make my own. If you use them, it’ll be great that you could link back, or leave a message. ^^

The graphics are from the following moments of the film; Julien and Sophie kissing on top of a car, after Sophie dares him to do so, which continues in the alley until the moment ends and she realizes that it might be just a game to him. And the other moment was when they were about to be covered with the cement, and Julien tells her he should’ve dared to love her like crazy… and they stay happy. together. forever.
