Archives For wonderfalls

When Hannibal started airing, I gave the show a watch (the first two episodes seemed like a lot) but since it seemed to stressed me a lot, I decided to stop watching and not be waiting for the latest episode, like I used to do for some of my now-not-so-current television watching. And though I had decided to not watch the show, I found myself catching the episodes on the weekend showings on AXN Latin America.

Two episodes a sitting- it doesn’t even matter if you skip a week, since you can catch up the next week! And it’s perfectly timed with my dinner on Sundays, so I don’t get eerily hungry whenever they show Hannibal cooking.

During the commercial for tonight’s episode, Dr. Alana Bloom talks to Will about her decision to not pursue him as a love interest… because he’s unstable. And obviously, as a Wonderfalls fan [1], I immediately though of Jaye as a crazy person. It’s like a perfect conversation!

Glee - 1x10 - I'll Kill You Suzy Pepper

Listen, you little psycho. This is Will’s wife, and if I don’t get enough sleep my anti-depressants won’t work, and then I’ll go crazy and I’ll kill you.

HAHAHAHA.
Stalkers make me laugh.

Suzy Pepper (laughs) was played by Sarah Drew, who also played Bianca… Jaye’s stuttering stalker on Wonderfalls.

Wonderfalls - Shows You Shoul\'ve Watched When They Were on the AirNot long ago, I got the opportunity to watch Wonderfalls. Some of the words that come to mind are “Brilliant!” or “Fudge you, Fox,” and “Buh-buh-buh buh-bye.” In these short couple of weeks, I have fallen in love with the now-canceled-Fox-show.

What’s the show about? It’s about Jaye Tyler. Now, if you LOVED watching Juno being Juno with all her Junoness, you’ll love Jaye because Jaye is the quintessential Juno. Many-a-times people find themselves in the extremes of loving/hating the puns, and the worldplay… but if you love it, you’ll enjoy Wonderfalls.

Jaye is a 24-year-old graduate from Brown University with a Psychology Degree, yet she finds herself over-educated and in a crappy job in a souvenir shop on the American side of Niagara Falls. She also finds herself working under the supervision of a mouth-breather who is still in high school… when one day inanimate objects shaped in the form of animals begin talking to her. Yes, Jaye is a crazy person… or maybe not?

Jaye, very much a la Joan of Arc, begins listening to these voices that tell her to do stuff in very cryptic messages, which often results in her getting into trouble or even helping people! She’s also joined by her not-not-a-sister (double negative there), her over-achiever-yet-living-at-home brother, her neurotic but caring mother, her nervous dad… Mahandra, her 1/8 Indian (native American) black woman friend, a cute-yet-heart-broken bartender, and a whole bunch of other funky and quirky characters that will surely make you snort throughout the 13 episodes.
