… or at least scarce.

First, with Maca’s announcement that Twilight earned a little over $70M this past weekend… which isn’t really surprising considering the amount of promotion they did trying to shove it down my throat. Ugh.

If I want smut, I’ll head over to read smutty fanfiction on HP characters, thankyouverymuch.

If I want a broody dark vampire to save my life, I’ll love Angel forever and always. If I wanna rough it up with a bleached rockish vamp with a ‘tude, I’ll pick Spike. If I wanna watch/read an interesting vampire story, I’ll watch/read Let the Right One In (Låt den Rätte Komma in)… and please, NO REMAKES.

THEN! It gets WORSE. UGH! I just read that Pushing Daisies is over. EF it ABC – what the heck, they keep on stretching pretty stupid uninteresting Grey’s Anatomy’s storylines… go wacky with Lost, which I never enjoyed, and you kill Pushing Daisies. WTF! Shut your Pie Hole ABC… >,<x

I am just about to watch episode 8, but I just had to mention Aoi Miyazaki on episode 1. You all must see her on this scene at school (for boys), pretending to be a boy… and I mean, can you believe? Aoi Miyazaki and Eita playing kiddos? Bizarre concept idea… and it doesn’t always work, but there ARE cases. You’d know that if you ever saw El Chavo del 8.

Atsu-Hime - Aoi Miyazaki

Aoi Miyazaki as Okatsu (later known as Atsu-Hime) getting Naogoro (Eita) out of a lecture by her father.

Grownups playing little kids, you can see the are grownups, but their acting totally works. This is the case…

about nothing in particular. I might be attending to a few events to this year’s Semana Cultural del Japon (Japanese Cultural Week) – so might get photos.

Eri my Love – Finally!

October 23, 2008 — 2 Comments

Saw it. It’s a pity more people didn’t get to watch this…

11-one-or-two-minute-episodes + a five-minute-SP, some of them were pretty funny and showcased Asami Mizukawa’s funnyness. Is it wrong that I laughed so hard when Eri hit Ogurin with the paper-fan?

After the break, enjoy a +1minute of Eri (Asami) impersonating Ruka (Juri), Ogurin impersonating Takeru (Eita) and finally Eri impersonating Michiru (Masami) – Laugh Out Loud moment… well, if YOU’ve seen the series anyway…

I literally laughed my ass off with Asami’s Michiru’s spot-on laugh. Seriously… if you want to watch it, the LJ Juri Community has it~~~ You either need an account or maybe join the community…

The WB’s Popular Music?

October 14, 2008 — 9 Comments

If you were a fan of The WB’s Popular, you were probably a fan of its music… or at least a couple of the tunes. Anyway, back in the day… I was probably a big BIG fan of the show, proven by this:

The WB\'s Popular - Fan-made - OST

Looks pretty darn good, non? I made it, actually… this backcover looks much better than the cover, because obviously I spend 3-times more hours on it. I even took the trouble to find the Warner, Sony Music (why?), Columbia (why?) logos, and the text I got from some Warner Music albums I own.

This is the tracklist I made in 2001, I probably have a whole bunch of other tracks, so now it will likely be a double-disc. Shall I work on a Vol. 2? xD

  1. Kendall Payne – Supermodels (Popular’s Main Theme)
  2. Tyrese Lately
  3. Wiseguys – Ooh La La
  4. Dido – Honestly OK
  5. Groove Armada – I See You Baby
  6. David Bowie – Changes
  7. Youngstown – Will You Marry Me? (Cheesy Boy Band Song)
  8. Vitamin C – Not that Kind of Girl
  9. SisQo – Thong Song
  10. Sugarhill Gang – Rapper’s Delight
  11. Spandau Ballet – True
  12. Sir Mix-a-Lot – Baby Got Back
  13. Falco – Rock Me Amadeus
  14. Sydney Forest – High School Highway (Popular’s End Theme)

Will You Marry Me? is the only poorly ripped from TV track. Care to add other tracks in the show that were on the original broadcast? I know of some… Actually, take that back. I found the post back up~ Will post that up later…

**EDIT**
I think I have most of the tracks, but Season 2 information is very lackin’ – If you’ve got song info from the original broadcast that is missing, please post away~~~ xD
The WB’s Popular Track List by Episode PDF (99Kb)

I am pretty sure I’m better designing now, so maybe I should re-make this album xD. It’s not like there are the best hi-res Popular stills out there… someone help? ^^

I noticed some of you have been looking for the soundtrack for Osen, I’ve blogged more about this soundtrack than other JDramas, so I thought it fair to get a sample for you to listen! The OST contains 22 tracks, not including the song of the intro (Odore, by Micro) or the closing song (Koi Uta, by Tackey & Tsubasa), but it IS a good Original Soundtrack with pieces by Yugo Kanno.

So I got 6 of my favorite tracks, and put them together with the opening and closing songs… for Osen’s MixTape!! xD

  1. Micro – Odore! – “Dance!”
  2. Yugo Kanno – Osen Main Theme
  3. Yugo Kanno – Tema wo Oshimazu – Effort is Valuable
  4. Yugo Kanno – Omotenashi no Kokoro – Heart’s Hospitality
  5. Yugo Kanno – Honmono wo Mirume – Discerning Eye for the Genuine
  6. Yugo Kanno – Noren wo Mamoru – Protect Reputation
  7. Yugo Kanno – Osen Main Theme (Ballad)
  8. Tackey & Tsubasa – Koi Uta – “Love Song”

Oh man… I just watched an episode of The X-Files, spanish-dubbed… it took me back! LOL’ It’s the dubbed I grew up watching… not that I was an avid X-File viewer, but I did from time to time. I still remember the episode where there was a ‘chupacabra’ – CHUPACABRA!!! I love how they say it in English, SO PHUNNY. xD ~you know, like that episode on Charmed where Piper says it~ Anyway!

Moving on… today, on channel Space, they were showing an episode with the guy who played Dr. Romano on ER… he was some cancer-man, and needed cancer to survive. He had gotten his head chopped off from a car accident at the beginning of the ep, and grew it back up! xD – Also featuring on that episode, there was the actress I’ve seen on an episode of Shirley Holmes… HA! If I recall correctly she was ‘Barbie’ with a B, or something like that… xD Season 3, episode The Case of the Real Fake. LOL’

Anyway, the episode was kinda creepy still… all kinda bad effects and all. Aww… I miss TV like that. xD – You know, TV with old school effects, makeup… I think I deserve a dose of good ol’ The Storyteller, with Jim Henson~ NE?

Amy is Watching~~

October 2, 2008 — 1 Comment

… what am I watching this TV fall season? It’s TV talk!! I went through 2 seasons of Dexter last month in a whim… and I just recently finished watching season 4 of Weeds, which I wasn’t so happy with, even though I heart Mary-Louise Parker. But what is moi watching now?

Well since TV…. here isnt’t er… very prompt with seasons – roughly waiting an average of 3 months for popular shows, and more… even a whole year – I’ve got to find other ways to watch, because I don’t like waiting.

Amy post! I’m currently typing while listening to Salyu’s debut… ‘landmark’ – I’ve been listening to it for the past two days, repeating out loud what I could make out from just listening. Ha! Listening and pronunciation practice xD

Coding… coding either bores me, or gives me headache. I don’t know which one I prefer. T_T – But I make do.
