… of languages!

Ok, here’s my story. Japanese is pretty awesome, but let’s get real. Any Asian language that I will ever try to learn, will eventually come to a sudden halt with the different writing… including Russian. Man, I don’t even have the slightest idea how to read or speak Russian. Da! LOL’ anyway… Korean it’s fun to play around with my friends, and it’s even fun to listen to Seo Taiji, and at least they have an understandable alphabet that doesn’t use Chinese characters… pronunciation is a bit tricky though…

Chinese (Mandarin)? Well, that’s a whole different story… grammar might be easy, but pronunciation, writing and reading? My God, could you get any more difficult?! It is frustrating to me… and then, there’s Japanese. The Japanese hiragana and katakana is quite simple to learn an begin reading, pronunciation is far more simpler than Mandarin, for sure… problems begin when you wanna start reading more, because you need to learn all the kanji (all the Chinese characters they used, and some Japaneses modification ones).

Then you have Thai, Hindi, and God knows only what other languages in the world…

About a year and a half ago, I took one intense month of Japanese. It was cool, I was learning loads, but then it was time to memorize kanjis, I can’t seem to memorize them. And even if I study for 3 years, I would never be at a proper level… for me, learning an Asian language is much more demanding. This is why, I have decided to study Swedish, all by myself! This will be a challenge for me, but then if everything goes well, I might take some classes… see how it goes. I’ve begun lesson 1, and learn some vocabulary…

Anyway, wish me luck! Because if Swedish goes well, I might try Norwegian and Danish… or even Icelandic which are very similar apparently. And I’m still thinking about French… my pronunciation doesn’t convince me. I pretty much think I suck at speaking French… and I don’t even speak French!
