Se Viene Shakira de la Vieja Escuela con Empire

February 25, 2014 — 3 Comments

I’ve been so disconnected from Shakira for so long. I still listen to her old albums, but that fandom fijacion that would have been is not there- that means I literally don’t know what’s new with Shakira. After the birth of her son, she’s making a comeback. The last single I sort of knew was Loba or She Wolf, so apparently it’s been less time since her last album.

Not a fan of Can’t Remember to Forget You, but her latest single Empire brought back all those Piez Descalzos and Donde Estan Los Ladrones vibes and feelings. Lyrics-wise still not there, but it’s okay.

All of a sudden interested on what’s coming up with her new album.

  1. I’m not a big fan of Shakira’s music after “La Tortura,” although I do like the beats of a couple of her dance songs like the Spanish-language version of “Rabiosa.” At least she still seems to be nice and enjoying performances, and Americans seem to like her presence as a judge on “The Voice.” Still hoping for something like “Donde Estan Los Ladrones” again.

    • La Tortura was kinda good as well as No, both from Fijacion Oral. That’s pretty much the last I heard of her, and she went all pseudo-Latin pop in English with those hip-shaking songs that Americans liked. Seeing Donde Estan Los Ladrones, I never would’ve thought that Shakira would be considered a sexy Latina by Americans and Europeans – the other day I heard her being mentioned on a Bollywood film hahaha.

Now, with this song all of a sudden people say she reminds them of old school Alanis. And all of Shaki’s old school latino fans are like Shaki has always been old school Alanis before Alanis had an old school. xD

    • Also, WP marked you as spam for some reason. xD
