Surprise! On the #4 position, there’s Josh Peck.

josh-peck

The heck is wrong with you, Amy? Nickelodeon guy, really? Drake & Josh??? — Just hear me out. He may be a Nick dude, but he managed to participate on two very-non-Nick-friendly films~~~ Mean Creek (with fellow who didn’t make it, Rory Culkin), and he even dared to appear on Havoc (with Anne Hathaway, Bijou Phillips and Joseph Gordon-Levitt)… and that’s when he was still working for Nick.

Last year, he worked on The Wackness sharing the screen with Ben Kingsley, Famke Janssen, Mary-Kate Olsen and fellow the 20 to watch, Olivia Thirlby.

Peck has lost weight, grew up (he is even taller than his Drake & Josh castmate/friend), so he’s got that “not-looking-bad-yourself” thing in his favor. He just needs to stay away from so much voice work and Nick cameos (for a while) and begin pimping the acting chops.

We are actually making it half our list of Actresses now! On #6, Aoi Miyazaki.

miyazaki-aoi

Always, all the time, all I hear is “Miyazaki Aoi is so kawaii (cute) and how awesome she is,” and well~ she is also so very popular in Japan topping every list there could be. However, scratch all of that, and what have you got? You’ve got an actress.

I’ve seen her in a few couple of films, some of them are pretty great like Gaichu (Harmful Insect), or are very deeply sentimental like Sukida. Her films often have to deal with human emotions, though I’ve also seen her doing comedy~ but what truly makes me think she can pull it off if she decides to stay away from this love-interests type of films was her decision to play the lead on NHK’s historical drama, Atsuhime.

This role that lasted a whole year let Miyazaki play Atsuhime from her tender kid age, throughout her teens, her 20s, her30 up until her death in her late 40s. She played innocent, clueless but at the same time idealist. She matured and began learning how things in life and politics work, and stood by her ideas trying to make everything better for everyone. Miyazaki truly nailed it on this one.

This is why I’m putting her here.

On #5 of the Actors list is none other than Harry Potter star, Daniel Radcliffe.

daniel-radcliffe

Say what, you say. Yes, Daniel Radcliffe. Despite pretty much only working on the Harry Potter franchise, with other few projects here and there, he makes it to half list. Why? Because he wants it. He wants it bad, and he works hard for it because he knows he can’t just wait for things to come his way.

December Boys was okay, decent movie. My Boy Jack was okay too. But his choice to bare it all on Equus, and saying he wants to play gay (or transvestite, internet is unclear on the quote) on film, makes me think that he might as well end up playing a role similar to Macaulay Culkin with Party Monster, which would be very welcomed.

He seems to be involved on the film The Journey is the Destination about the life of photojournalist Dan Eldon. Radcliffe also seems interested in working the theater business with a Broadway appearance on the 1960s musical, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. Worth keeping an eye~

So~~~ we’ve already covered half of the guys and half of the girls (though, 2 of the top5), and we’ve also talked about some of the people that didn’t make it into the list for several reasons. Now it’s time to get to know the rest of the people, this time around exchanging guys and girls in each posting.

Here it is! Amanda Seyfried (“Sigh-Frid”) on #7 of the Actress list.

Amanda Seyfried by Stewart Shining

Who would’ve thought that the “there’s a 30% chance it’s already raining” boob weather girl would be where she is now? Because I, for one, did enjoy watching Mean Girls and all the mean-girling-ness xD Afterward, she went and did some more TV before jumping into summer-blockbuster and ABBA reviver and Meryl-Streep loving Mamma Mia!

I mean, Big Love is a pretty great HBO project for Seyfried, but that with the combo of Mamma Mia gave her such huge boost, she’s only just begun. And actually, I thought she was pretty great in those first minutes of Jennifer’s Body… but we know M.Fox has been taking all the promo for that one. More Seyfried, Less Fox — that’s what I think.

She’s got Dear John coming up (directed by fellow Chocolat director, Lasse Hallström), Letters to Juliet (with Gael Garcia Bernal), and there’s also A Woman of No Importance (with Annette Bening, and fellow Driving Miss Daisy director Bruce Beresford), and that’s because things are just starting.

Jena Malone by Troy Jensen

It is so rare to run across any great Jena Malone photograph, so it was a surprise to find this during the search for photos for my previous post.

for one thing or the other~~~

We are halfway through the list of 20 Actors Between 20-25 to Watch Until They’re 30, so it’s time to stop for a minute and talk a little about the few actors… or in this case, actresses that didn’t make the list for different reasons.

You should know that I’m writing as I think of those names and reasons, so I’ve got nothing planned. Forgive the possible lack of photos, lack of other info and ramblings.

Why am I singling out “actresses” – well, mainly because I already have a few of their names right on the tip of my tongue, and like I said before… my list of guys was very limited from the get go, but don’t worry. I will also talk about guys. LOL

So finally~~~ The bottom 5 of the Top10 actors you should be watching until they turn 30. And here’s another asshole. Because there is a 95% chance that he is a douche with all those reports and things he says. Plus, he’s short… that’s probably where the bad attitude comes from.
Not everyone can be Tom Cruise.

You may ask why he is ahead of freaking Shia LaBeouf, after all LaBeouf has 2 franchises – but those are pretty boring franchises. Skull wasn’t that good of an Indiana Jones film, and Transformers 2 was rubbish. ANYWAY, why is Hirsch on #6 of the list???

Emile Hirsch

His jump from TV to the big screen was on The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys (with Kieran Culkin, Jena Malone and… Jodie Foster!) — so that’s pretty awesome. He later was placed into the spotlight with The Girl Next Door sharing screen with Elisha Cuthbert  (oh, what the heck happened to you) and Paul Dano.

He’s also been involved on Imaginary Heroes (Sigourney Weaver, Jeff Daniels, Michelle Williams),  Lords of Dogtown (with a whole bunch of people including Heath Ledger and Michael Angarano), he later should’ve been nominated for his role on the Sean Penn’s directed film Into the Wild, and became part of Milk sharing the screen with Penn himself.

So that’s freaking impressive, liking his attitude or not. Would I dish my hard earned cash on someone who’s such an asshole? No, I wouldn’t. This is why Hirsch’s thing isn’t a blockbuster. But is it worth keeping an eye on the roles he chooses? Yes, he has chosen interesting projects since he left the small screen for the silver one, and there is no reason why he shouldn’t be looking for other roles like that.

And no. Hamlet is not a brilliant idea, but Hardwicke could make it work.

bmw-electric-scooter

Okay, not as cute as let’s say a super roundy hot pink scooter designed for Hello Kitty, but it IS cute for a brand like BMW. Plus, I would so totally get beat up if people see me riding one of these, but I would so totally want to ride it for at least one time. Check out more photos here.

I also want a green mint Vespa. LOL

Gosh~ I was so unwilling to add Shia LaBeouf, but I know I must suck up my subjectivity, and just freaking add him despite me not really liking him. He’s pretty annoying when he talks (after all, he’s one of those new generation Disney kids), but I’ve watched a couple of his films, and yeah… whatever, he’s got 2 franchise under his belt.

Shia LaBeouf

So why is he on my #7 spot, if I hate him so much? Some small reasons. The first, he was on A Guide to Recognizing your Saints. And he’s also showing up on New York, I Love You — but at this point who isn’t, right? Anyway, those two movie choices tell me that he is willing to do something else, and given that Hollywood seems to love him, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s receiving every script that’s on the market. Huge possibilities right there~~~
