it is indeed Fried Rice Day. LOL

  • The Library of Congress Photochrom Travel

The Library of Congress has colorized a bunch of B&W photos, which make them look completely kick-ass. Honestly, just sit back, hit on the “Slideshow” link and watch on fullscreen.

    On what is a Photochrom~

Published primarily from the 1890s to 1910s, these prints were created by the Photoglob Company in Zürich, Switzerland, and the Detroit Publishing Company in Michigan. The richly colored images look like photographs but are actually ink-based photolithographs, usually 6.5 x 9 inches.

Like postcards, the photochroms feature subjects that appeal to travelers, including landscapes, architecture, street scenes, and daily life and culture. The prints were sold as souvenirs and often collected in albums or framed for display.

Check out the complete set here.

  • Yu Aoi for Shiseido Shampoo – Tsubaki CM + Photos

I wasn’t gonna post this CM, but Yu’s blog was updated with a couple snaps from it. Why so important? Because it’s Yu in trousers, shirt and a tie, and such very long hair.

Seems a waste to have her only for a few frames on this CM. LOL

    but then again, I’m biased.

Also, I know guys love silky long hair… so you can’t get better than Yu Aoi’s hair for a shampoo commercial. Shampoo Commercial Hair is surreal.

  • I Feel in the Mood for Hanson~

    hanson-2008-bryan-johnson

I’ve been listening to their last 2 albums these past two days.

Is Hanson a guilty pleasure? Sure, I can’t tell everyone, but I do tell some people they’ve got to let those MMMBop days go. Honestly, you can’t judge a group by a song you heard in the late 90s. If you only let yourself listen to Underneath, and The Walk you would understand.

Plus, it doesn’t count if they liked MMMBop and then it got too popular for its own good.

Actually, Underneath Acoustic is pretty great, and I just happened to read that they also did a re-recording of their debut Middle of Nowhere (for their 10th anniversary)… what that means? That means mature Hanson still singing their old songs. Can you imagine Justin Timberlake singing Bye Bye Bye? He’s too afraid. LOL

Come on! Michael Jackson was still comfortable performing I Want You Back, and I’ll Be There.

I also read that a new album will be released next year… May, hopefully.

While updating myself on Hanson news, I found two interesting posts… In Defense of the Hanson Brothers, and Hanson in Sharp Form… – Here’s a couple of excerpts~

There’s little point in dancing around it: I like Hanson. Always have. I’ve also spent enough time listening to Slayer, Motorhead, Mayhem, Krisiun and the like to feel comfortable with my affinity for this trio of pop-friendly siblings.

Like keyboardist/singer Taylor Hanson, I wasn’t a Gilmore Girls watcher, but I read recently that one character on the show referred to Hanson as “the new Bee Gees.” Then it all made sense.

And the most interesting part of the whole post was this:

Then a friend who spent most of his time listening to Norwegian black metal told me he was impressed with songs that would eventually appear on Underneath (2004).

Also… did you know? *warning, Amy facts may seem weird* Taylor was my brother of choice. xD

  • Faces!!

I found these shots of Anne Hathaway taken by Yu Tsai

  • Ooh la~ Actor Spotting: Osric Chau

    Osric Chau

If I talk about interesting faces on screen while watching 2012, I should be talking about Osric Chau, the monk practicioner — How do you pronounce his name? I have no idea. At the moment I’m saying it with a thick Scandinavian accent. LOL He is 23 going on 24 (born on July 1986) so we are practically the same age! He’s also Canadian! From Vancouver!

And that photo is adorable, but apparently he’s an exceptional martial artist, and shared the screen with David Carradine and Daryl Hannah on Kung Fu Killer.

He’s also got a website! Not a very good one — is that Bradley Sans I’m seeing? — but you can contact him and his management from there. There are also photos and some updates. If he googles himself, I hope he ends up here. LOL — Hey, Osric! How do you pronounce your name?

  • China’s 60th Anniversary on Slow Motion by Dan Chung

This really wouldn’t work on a 2hrs broadcast, but I seriously think that CCTV should buy this for broadcast of this year’s highlights. It’d be awesome to see this on the TV. xD Like Officially, you know?

And some shots look like miniature models, right? xD

Check it out yourself here. Awesome stuff.

  • Limited 1970’s Styled Tricycle by James Perse

It’s currently sold out, but I miss kids riding these. Now all they do is ride those battery mini-cars (some of them are cute, though xD), or just ride those Fisher Price plastic tricycles… or just play video games. LOL
