TIME Magazine, or better said… TIME’s website is holding a vote for the 100 Most Influential people of 2008, I’m guessing. There’s a broad spectrum of professions, races, nationalities, etc… but come on, seriously?
I like Bi (Rain) and all, I thought he was quite good on Park Chan-Wook’s film, and I’m actually giddy that he’s on the new Speed Racer film. He dances pretty great… and oh Sang Doo, he went to school! LOL’ However, it baffles me that he’s in the #1 spot when probably 75% of people in America and Occident haven’t the faintest idea who he is.
Don’t get me started on #2, LOL. If Chicken Fried should be included, it should be Kentucky Friend Chicken. I mean, I liked Britney and all back in ’99, and I’m still hoping she gets her crap together, but #2??? Seriously? What does that say about us, people??
And #3? Oh my God! J.K. Rowling has been pushed from her thrown by Stephenie Meyer, author of The Twilight Series. A pseudo-fantasy book that is as good as some fanfiction story written for 13-year-old girls who dream and giggle about crushing hard on a good vampire. LOL’ – I mean, really… Influential? Maybe… but the #3 spot?
So this is how the list should be shifted around:
Bi should be knocked down of #1… many-a-few-notches, he can be included in the list, I think. However, I don’t think he should be in the Top20.
Britney could be knocked down a few dozen notches of the list, even if she should make it… maybe she should, after all she did pull How I Met Your Mother to good ratings. So here’s to Britney in maybe the 90s spots.
Stephenie Meyer needs to be knocked down a couple of dozen notches to maybe the 50s or 60s spots.
Steve Jobs (as much as I hate his iTunes policy, and how crappy a few products he released), The MySpace Men (as much as I don’t like MySpace), Facebook Guys (are they even in there??), Google Guys… they should all be at least in Top20… the only one in there is Steve Jobs. Bill Gates sits comfortable in #17, even though Vista SUCKS.
I may not be a fan of Miley Cyrus (see I almost spelled Cyrus with an ‘i’), or High School Musical… but I’ll give them a spot probably below the Top50.
Not a big Perez Hilton reader here, but he deserves an influential place… #6? I don’t know, maybe in the Top25. I’m more of a Lainey’s Gossip reader, but oh well!
Anywyay, I’m bored of going through the TIME list because it’s on Flash. It’s just to hard to go through text info in that… all for data refresh!
“A pseudo-fantasy book that is as good as some fanfiction story written for 13-year-old girls who dream and giggle about crushing hard on a good vampire. LOL’ ” this is why I love u so amy chun!
LOL’ Come on, Julz… you know, I was a giggling 13-year-old when I watched Buffy, ha! I was probably 11 or 12 actually… BUT you don’t see Whedon in there, do you?
Meyer…. *coughoverratedcough*
