Turns out that Faye Wong had been working on the main theme for the Chow Yun-Fat Confucius film. The song, titled You Lan Cao (幽兰操), was finished on December 31st, and will be released on January 6th for the release of the film.
It is based on the works of the Tang Dynasty poet Han Yu (韩愈, 768-824). The director, Hu Mei, is reported to have described Faye’s rendition as ethereal, as “Communication of the earth and the sky’s beauty.”

The new song uses only 64 Chinese characters and is adapted from ancient poet Han Yu’s eulogy on orchids that resonated with the iconic philosopher Confucius.
Yu Aoi is featured on CMs for U-Can (ユーキャン) a company dealing with distance learning courses and communication, among other stuff. One of the promotional materials is an almost-12-minute short film titled Sute Neko OL, or Stray Cat Office Lady, in which Yu plays Mayumi Yamamoto (?) an office lady who finds a stray cat…

You know, if anyone artist deserves to make me broke, it’s Wang Lee Hom and his freaking talent. Not only is he an astounding singer, and a kick ass composer… and producer. He also plays 14 instruments, and freaking speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Japanese and French.
To make it funny, he’s also beaten Angelina Jolie, since he has 10 adopted children from Laos.
He’s an amazing live performer, and I would kill (not literally) to see him in a concert.

Finally got the chance to watch the second chapter of Camouflage fully translated. Why? One, because I didn’t have the time, and when I had the time ViiKii wasn’t letting me stream.

BARAIRO NO HIBI, or Rose-colored Days is the 2nd 3-episode chapter of Yu Aoi’s Camouflage, which aired a LONG time ago. The title seems to be a play on words on “rose-colored g lasses” (aka. pink-colored glasses) which refers to seeing something nicer than it normally is. A common word that is often used (and I often read about 5 years ago) was delusion. Delusional people aren’t really crazy per se, but they are living in an illusion that they’ve created.
In this case, Yu’s character, Makoto.
NHK will begin airing their new Taiga (historical) drama on January 3rd 2010, titled Ryoman den (龍馬伝), and Yu has been announced as a cast member.
NHK’s 49h taiga drama centers around Ryoma Sakamoto (January 3, 1836 – December 10, 1867) a leader of the movement to overthrow the feudal regime of Tokugawa shogunate. Ryoma Sakmoto is thought to have been a visionary who helped spur Japan to modernization.
Yu Aoi will be playing Omoto, and we don’t know anything else. So those rumors weren’t so far off~~~ LOL We have no idea how long she will play Omoto… maybe 4 episodes? When? If you can read Jap, please let me know.

Also, gonna quote NC coz it seems more precise. Yu and Masaki Okada have worked together on Honokaa Boy, but Yu was in such a small portion of the first 10 minutes of the film, that it shouldn’ t really count as working together. LOL
But here goes~
Yu Aoi and Masaki Okada are set to star in an upcoming jidaigeki film called Raiou, which is based on a best-selling novel by Mari Ueza inspired by Shakespeare’s classic tale of star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet.

Okada will play Narimichi, a young man born into the family of the shogunate, and thus bound by the shackles of his own bloodline and the expectations of Edo period society. Aoi will play Yu, a girl who has been living deep in the mountains since being kidnapped at a young age. Under normal circumstances, these two would never cross paths, but a chance encounter in front of a strange tree called “Raiou” sparks an unlikely romance.
The project will be directed by Ryuichi Hiroki who previously worked on Eita’s movie April Bride, which I dunno… gives me some doubts. I didn’t really think much of April Bride, and I do love Eita a lot. However, the idea of Aoi playing a “savage” [insert shameless Savage Yejin plug here] makes it interesting.
