  • Yu Aoi – Travel Sand by Yoko Takahashi – rockin’ on

OMG, I’ve got it!! I’ve GOT IT!! On the mail today. Pretty photos *drools* Now I am ready to recommend where I bought this one. If you’ve been following… I blogged Photobooks at the beginning of the month…. I only lasted three days before I hit clicked and bought. LOL I mentioned I had purchased Travel Sand from another online store other than YesAsia.com – Well, I placed the order on July 6th (Paid with Paypal) and by July 14th I received confirmation that the book was on the way =D

So… beNippon.com is good. A bit on the pricey side, but good~ In case you don’t find an item, and you find it there… the site was prompt, and un-insured item made it to Peru. Now you know…

Well, TODAY was the day!!! I got it on the mail. Instant LOVE! I love it when it feels like Christmas when it’s not Christmas… actually, Christmas doesn’t feel as good.

Yu Aoi - Travel Sand Photobook

Now, I’m posting a few photos of the photos (just so you can feel the texture of the photo on this paper)… sorry guys, but my scanner won’t do good with this book. (more…)

  • We Love Juri Ueno, But Where’s the Yu Aoi Love??

I had heard about the Nikkan awards of some sort, which are supposedly based on popularity… and well, I don’t feel up to typing the list of winners, so I’ll be linking to this lovely post that does and even lists the number of votes.

Last Friends didn’t win for Best Drama… that’s sadness. And I was sorry that Eita didn’t win~~ I mean, no offense to Ryo and his Sousuke… but *sighs* Takeru~~

I also understand Juri Ueno wining Best Supporting Actress, though she deserved a Best Actress. LOL’ xD I mean, did any of you watched LF for Michiru??? Really??? Cross your heart on that?? And poor Asami Mizukawa… she was supporting of the supporting~~ *sighs* this world is upside down, I tell you!!!!

  • Bob the Wobble Clock, and Other Nifty Stuff I’ve Bought

I always browse around the web, and I’ve bought some niftyness over the past years. Today I met up with Diana, who gave me a belated b-day. Even more belated than Julyssa’s Greta Garbo Book. And YAY!

Dianisha gave Amy a belated b-day clock. His name is Bob… (more…)

  • Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog – Act III

Act 3 is OUT!!! All will be available until July 20, then you will have to wait for iTunes download or the DVD. I am waiting for the DVD, but go watch it while it’s free! xD

    Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

If you fancy some singing… head over here.

  • Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog – Act II

Act Two of the Joss Whedon web-series was out today, and I love it!!! I LOVE Neil Patrick Harris!!! If you haven’t seen it yet, you better head over there and watch it. Act Three will be out on July 19th, but I’m pretty sure it will be hard  to watch in the first hours of the day just like it was to watch today’s episode.

Fangirl me thinks this is worth buying when it’s out… just for captions and extras. You know you want to have subs and caption for it so you can sing along to it… you know you want it~~~

In the meantime, I leave you with two more photos of it. One of the cast, and another of evil Dr. Horrible.

  • Bright Weekend for Dark Knight

Ok, I admit it. I went to watch The Dark Knight today with my The Joker tee. Call me a crazy fangirl! xD Long story short, me likey. Go watch The Dark Knight this weekend, it won’t disappoint. Word. It’s dark, it’s serious… has action, gets you to the edge of your seat. And yes, the main attraction will be Heath Ledger’s freak interpretation of messed up The Joker. Okay! SPOILERS AHEAD! <-that’s a warning, I still don’t know how much spoiling I will write.

  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Shows You Should’ve Watched

Buffy - Chose One CollectionI always thought Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a popular show, but apparently is not very cool to say you like Buffy. But I disagree. I respect people who have watched the show and don’t particularly like it, but the most uncool of the uncool people are the ones who think are TOO COOL to watch or like a show like Buffy.

I’m one of those people who grew up watching Buffy… something that my writing teacher thought was nifty. The fact is that I was like 11 when I remember watching an episode of Buffy… and I have been a fan ever since. Am now 22, so have been a Buffy (and Whedon fan) for half my life. Le GASP!

I’ve seen the episodes so many times, that even my mom (who despises Fantasy and Sci-Fi) has seen repeat episodes of Buffy. Once, while watching a re-run on Canal Fox, my mom told me “Haven’t you watched this episode before? I know I have seen it at least 3 times… so by now you must know all the lines.”

The fact is that growing up watching Buffy shaped who I am today (I am most certainly sure about that). Being an impressionable 11-year-old with a knack for martial arts (am a fan of Bruce Lee), I thought Buffy kicked major ASS.

So it was so easy for me to watch Buffy… with a combination of ass-kicking, supernatural, and teenager-ness that gave a great transition of viewing habits between my pre-teen and teen years. It does help a lot as a young adult to know that Buffy was metaphorical (but you don’t really know what a metaphor means when you’re 12… do you?). So for those of you who don’t know… What the EFF is Buffy about?

  • Photobook Fever

Okay, I’ve decided! Japanese people are the master of things “must-get”. You’ve no idea how much will power took for me not to click on the “buy” button on YesAsia.com – I’ve got Photobook Fever. But Japanese photobooks are just so effing pretty, WORD.

I’m not talking about the calendars, or bikini shots. NEVER. Actually, I’ve never actively purchased a calendar or a celebrity photobook… mainly calendars, because western photobooks are not common. But calendars… my uncle once gave a 98 Degrees calendar (with a 98 Degrees album), but I’ve never bought one. But Japanese stars photobooks make you want to break your bank account because they’re so awfully pretty. I love me some artsy fartsy photos~~ And at the moment I want to buy those three Aoi Yu Photobooks on sale on YesAsia…. le sigh.

Kyou Konogoro – $21.49 *EDIT* – Scrapping this one in favor of Travel Sand photobook.
    Dandelion – by Rhythmedia – $37.99
Kaiten Table wa Mutsukashii – $34.75

And holy mother of effing god, Juri Ueno photos…. A Piaciere ($39.49) – Lucky for you, and for me… and photo lovers~~~ There’s these two wonderful Flickr sets online:

    Juri Ueno
    Yu Aoi
