Archives For Fun

So just a while ago I saw Ep09 of Last Friends, but don’t worry! No spoilers in this post~~ Besides, there were no subs, so I probably don’t have any idea what they talked about~ I just cracked up with this following scene so much that I had to share with you guys.

If you’re a fan of Disney, you might notice or remember this song in the clip is a play on the famous Zip-Ah-Dee-Doo-Dah song on the infamous non-dvd-released Song of the South. You can actually find a torrent of the film thanks to someone’s hard-working-self who digitized the film.

Aren’t Eri, Michiru and Takeru the cutest singing??? And I just laugh so much when Eri goes “Ruka! Ruka!” xD

LOL’ No, they are not in Lima, but I have just gotten my Yesasia order, which rocks my world!!! It was relatively fast, as it only took 11 days… when Amazon.com usually takes 2 weeks or a month! It didn’t use to be like that, Amazon.com used to be prompt in orders, sometimes getting my stuff in a couple of days, instead of a couple of weeks. Even worse, Amazon has increased its shipping cost……….. when Yesasia offers free international shipping~~~~ So if you’re buying Asian music or films, don’t hesitate and buy Yesasia!

As the weird obsessive fan that I am, you might not find my dying for these cups weird. Anyone watching the show must have noticed and over-analyzed the meaning of the cups… so INSTANT LOVE! For those who don’t know, Okaeri Cups or the Welcome Home Cups are heavily featured on one of Japan’s favorite dramas of the season, Last Friends.

Okaeri Cups - Last Friends

And as my preference (and my dad’s) for Juri Ueno, we have a certain preference for Ruka’s blue cup (of course, marked by my swirling hearts). For certain, for otakus of the show who are not ass broke like me. LOL

You can find the cups  at the FujiTV shop Online. Prices on US$ are roughly, $15 USD for the Tall Cups (that belong to Ruka/Michiru/Takeru), and $18 USD for the Latte Cups (that belong to Eri and Ogurin). Pricey! ain’t it??

Just been having too much fun singing these Hawaiian lyrics, so I’d better just post the lyrics here. LOL’ Has any of you tried singing in Hawaiian? Pronunciation is pretty much like in Japanese when you read Romaji, I think… You know like “Mahalo”, which is for thanking would be pronounced MAH-HA-LO, HA as in Japanese “Hajimemashite” and MAH as in “Matsuri”… I guess it’s way easier for Spanish speakers because our vowels A-E-I-O-U sound exactly the same, unlike English.

The only difference I’ve noticed is “W” which is pronounced like “V”, I think… oh, and all those apostrophes hahaha. Anyway, I leave you with the lyrics for He Mele No Lilo and Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.

Crossed some films on my “Want to See” list. Continue Reading…

Just got back from watching a screening of the newest Narnia flick, and let me tell you, I enjoyed watching The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, but this one is far more better than that. Sure, purist might be a little ticked off by switching lines from characters to characters, but I’m telling you that I enjoyed Caspian a whole lot more.

Just read Lainey’s Gossip. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. You all must read it!

People can’t tell Asians apart.

Believe it or not, we Asians don’t all have grandmas called Mrs Wong.

Funny. But I did! I never met my Grandma Wong, but I did have one. LOL’

Talk to Asians, and they will tell you all black people look the same… or white people. The funniest thing, Bi (Rain), the biggest star in Korea… almost topping the TIME poll of Most Influentials, and People messes it up.

There are people that meet my mom and my aunt, thinking they look exactly the same, when in reality they don’t even seem related. On the other hand, when we went to China, no one related them. My mom looks more like she’d be Malaysian, or Thai… or Vietnamese. My aunt, she looks like Yoko Ono. Word. She looks so much like Yoko that even a group of Japanese tourists asked her if she was… and we were on our way to Helsinki from Stockholm. She looks that much like her.

I have been watching one of the latest Japanese Dramas (JDrama), Last Friends… or RASUTO FURENZU as its read Katakana name. It is the first Asian drama I have seen (Chinese, Korean… or any other) – and despite the fact that I have seen my fair amount of Asian films, or listened to music in an Asiatic language. Last Friends is my first EVER Asian Soap… or as I call it, my AsiaNovela.

Last Thursday, we saw the fifth episode… so I have been roughly watching this weekly for the past month, and I can’t wait for more! Continue Reading…

All the way back in September, I made a small list of some of my favorite actresses that people didn’t have idea who they were. But I don’t seem to have the same knack for spotting unknown names for male actors… funny, eh? I just realized this when making this list. Since most of the names are probably known, will post them from the ones I think are less known to the most known. And notice? No TV stars that I can recall~ WEIRD.

*EDIT*
How could I forget him??? Just added him on the first spot of actors that you probably don’t know.

The date, September 1999… It was a Wednesday on The WB channel. I was getting ready to watch a new episode of Charmed, because I was (and still am) a fan of the supernatural. So as I used to do, turned on the TV at 7-ish in the evening, while doing some homework… re-runs of Friends and Caroline in the City would be on, and I would watch more than doing my actual homework, ha! – But that day… 29th of September (according to Wikipedia), Popular began. It was 8 pm. I’m guessing, and the show began as two ‘teens’ began talking in a diner. Summer vacations were over, and both were discussing the issues of teenage beauty. Is Sam foxier than Brooke McQueen??
