  • Guilty Pleasures Regarding Reality TV

It is common knowledge that I’m not really partial to un-scripted television. I grew up with things like MTV’s The Real World in the background of my mind, sometimes watching it quietly when I was a teen. But then it just exploded, and it’s not like I’m bothered by the actual programs… what bothers me is that contestants later become “celebrities”. It’s like being a celebrity means nothing. You can eat crap (literally) for money, win and become a “celebrity”. That’s sad.

Having said that, I have a few shows that I do watch. It doesn’t have to do with who’s in it, or who’s going to be in it… who says it’s what, or if it’s hot or not to watch it.

It’s simply 3 things I would like to be able to do.

    First, dancing.

  • OK Go – Last Leaf

I think it’s safe to admit that OK Go has the 2010 title of best set of music videos. First of with the incredible-blowing-your-mind This Too Shall Pass, followed by the pretty good End Love, followed by the doggies on White Knuckles… and now~

A video with some 30 toasts per second~

This Too Shall Pass still remains the best of the year, I think – and the year is almost done.

  • Peruvians are so very Chinese

Ahh… Peruvians and Chinese, Peru and China – countries so far away, but with so many links. Almost a year ago I read a book called 1434 by some guy Menzies. He also wrote 1421 where he says China arrived to America first. It’s an interesting thought considering how similar our cultures can be.

I mean, sure – Peru has the biggest Chinese colony in Latin America. Many of us may not speak Mandarin or Cantonese, but it sure has caught on everyday life. I mean, not only do we have a dish called Lomo Saltado (Sautee Sirloin?) that’s made with soy sauce, and that’s now a landmark dish.

    lomo saltado

Obviously, we don’t call soy sauce “soy sauce,” Peruvians call it “sillao” [si yau in Cantonese]. Everyone in Latin America doesn’t — just saw some Colombian “chef” doing some ceviche with lime and “soy sauce” and “ginger”. As well as an Argentinean doing “Chinese noodles” with “soy sauce”.

  • Cute Overload: Yu Aoi for Blush CM for Calbee Chips *updated*

The CM was taped using a high speed camera and only used 2 seconds of it to produce the whole CM. The CM shows Aoi Yu eating the chips with her mouth opened wide and gnawing it in very slow motion.

“I feel a little embarrassed,” said Aoi Yu with a smile. She also said that she loved Calbee’s Pizza flavoured potato chips and has been eating it as a child.

    via Japan Now.

Well, that is embarrassing, to be honest. Imagine someone taking a photo of you as you close your eyes to chew on your food — I’ve done that, to my mom buahahahaha — now imagine someone shooting you on high-speed camera for just 2 seconds to probably make a 15sec commercial. Embarrassing! xD

  • The Happy 101 Award

Anomalous Material just posted a Meme about 10 Things that Bring You Joy.

But before we start with mine… let me just say… “Forehead Titaes!” *giggles*

Okay, moving on… what are some of the things that bring me joy?

    1. The sight of chocolate

    Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie

In any shape or form. It doesn’t matter how pissy or how gloom I may be, I see chocolate and suddenly the world seems a better place. And forget about having a taste of the chocolate-y goodness.

  • Jesse & Joy – Chocolate

I sure wish the song was about Chocolate, but it’s just a song how “our love” is like chocolate. However, the video is really cool with cookies and ingredients animated =D

I hope they didn’t just throw away all those cookies after the shoot.

  • Maid Cafe, Karaoke and Yakitori for the BSB on their Bigger MV

Maid Cafe. The very concept makes me giggle.

But you can never go wrong with Karaoke and Yakitori…
okay maybe the same can be applied to Maid Cafe too.

I wasn’t a big fan of the This Is Us album, and Bigger wasn’t my favorite track in it… and the video is normal, but it just kinda works. I mean, it’s Japan~~~ And did I mention the Maid Cafe, Karaoke AND Yakitori?? xD

This link seems to look a bit better, but can’t embed.

  • Bad Ass Fruity o-Mochi

    xD

It was seriously good, and pretty.

it was so effing tasty… the green one had a Guanabana (Soursop) filling, which was my fave. Then there was the chocolate one, and the Lucuma one~~~ The rest, I think, had a sweetened bean paste… which is the most common. We also had a lot of Japanese food, which was popular because we don’t normally get makis, sushi and sashimi on New Year. There was also pancetta with crispy skin (like REALLY crispy, really so effing good). We had sticky rice, spicy jellyfish, sweet potato noodle salad, and egg tarts xD

Food is so good, why would anyone not eat?
