Of course I thought what I wanted to say first,
so I hope the Japanese I tried to use did the job I intended…
So… first of all, this was going to be just a Jean Paul Strauss post, but then… you know. I needed a bit of space to clear things up. I know I don’t particularly talk much about Peru in here (especially with my current obsession with Japanese and Asian) – Anyway, I heard this a couple of months ago… just half a tiny clip on television, so I couldn’t do much back then. Luckily, I decided to try my luck again, and surprise!
Vibra Peru is the album by Peruvian Jean Paul Strauss fusing Peruvian rhythms,folk music and the whole shebang, the result I thought was pretty fun (one of those reasons I also enjoyed some of Gianmarco’s productions). But let me just show you instead of writing about it~~~

Now, I’m pretty sure that’s track12 – Huaynos: (Matarina y Mambo de Machaguay). Why? Well, because I’ve heard Mambo de Machaguay before… I knew it when I was a kid because of a sing-along Libro Coquito book that had the music in one of the tracks (La Grua, if you were interested in it… I must have the goddamn tape somewhere). Then, I went all music discoverer, I recognized the tune on the Indian Carnival song by Yma Sumac (track 7) – I couldn’t really remember what the ‘tune’ is called… if Carnaval Arequipeno, or Cajamarquino… but it was a folk tune.
So I ended up on Wikipedia Spanish, and found that it’s called “Mambo de Machaguay” – what it’s missing? Well, it mentions the version by Los Jaivas from ’76, but fails to mention the 1954 use by Yma Sumac, so I just wanted that out of the way since I’m not a Wikipedia editor/user/contributor…

Over the weekend I saw this documentary by Tanaz Eshaghian that surprised me quite a lot. First of all, I had no idea about Iranian policies on sex reassignment, but this documentary is quite an intriguing look into the lives of homosexual people almost being forced into this operation, in order to regain their rights back.
Some of them go through it, and end up more content with the whole support of their family, but in many situations they face rejection, misunderstanding, and even suffer a lack of attraction from their current partners after the operation.
I decided to share this with a few of my friends, and thought to take advantage of that upload to share with some of you~~ Won’t really feel like re-uploading, but you can try persuading me in a comment. LOL~~~ In the meantime, take advantage of the upload… you just need Pando.
I just saw the new commercial for Chanel N5 featuring Audrey Tautou directed by Amelie fellow-director Jean Pierre Jeunet. I personally think they work great together, visually their work is stunning… and this ad is no exception.
I think perfume commercials are very pretty to look at, even though I don’t really buy their products hahaha, but I gotta give them props for them. Anyway, the ad made me think of other perfume commercials I have previously enjoyed watching…

Hmm, yeah… I once saw the girls from Smallville (Alison Mack, and Kristin Kreuk) at the John Mayer (Maroon5 was opening for them, ok?) concert. Since I didn’t watch much of the show back then, I didn’t really recognize them… they just looked sort of familiar. Some people were asking for photos and stuff too… it was not until they went to their VIP zone that I realized who they were~~~ LOL
And… I once saw Eliza Dushku shooting Tru Calling. xP
Then… I’ve also seen a bunch of Peruvian celebrities, and Latin ones… xD Oh! and in a more profesional note~~~ I have worked with someone who worked on The Last Emperor ;) tsk tsk. hahahaha.
2. What music/cd/artist/vinyl/cassette is on ‘heavy rotation’ right now?
Well, let’s see… today I was in the mood for Mirotic by DBSK (you can jump now, Julz), and the Whale Rider OST – I’m also listening to the 3 Doors Down album The Better Life. And the last three albums I heard were Coeur de Pirate by Coeur de Pirate, Joy/Happy Ending by Bonnie Pink, and Love You More and More by Fahrenheit.
3. If we hacked into your DVR/Hard Drive, what shows/videos would we find?
I don’t have a DVR, crap~ You would find the remains of Season 1 of Battlestar Gallactica, which I still haven’t finished. An episode of Dollhouse, which I didn’t really enjoy… Season 2 of Pushing Daisies because I’m still waiting for the remaining 3 episodes~~~ 2nd halves of Season 5 of House M.D and Desperate Housewives.
I also have the first two episodes of Godhand Teru, the Three Colours Trilogy, and Blood: The Last Vampire~ The anime film…
4. What song are you singing in the shower?
I don’t sing in the shower… but I was singing some BBMak a day or two ago.
5. Who’s the actor/singer/celebrity/subject people link you to the most?
I always get questions about Natalie Portman… been a fan for like a decade O.o ~~ and well, lately Yu Aoi hahaha, or specifically Japanese/Asian cinema~~~ it used to be Harry Potter related subjects xP
6. And who’s the one people don’t really know about?
Eh… guilty pleasures? I’m pretty open with my guilty pleasures. Ha! I know a lot about Boy Bands… but people know that, right? BSB, NSYNC, Westlife, 98 Degrees, 5ive… Take That, Boyzone, even New Kids on the Block~ I have many of those albums… I also have albums by Joey McIntyre (NKotB), Jordan Knight (NKotB), Justin Timberlake, Nick Carter, Ronan Keating.
I can be very pop.

Awww… you know~~ Before I was all Harry Potter Shipping crazed, before I learned what the heck shipping meant… and before I knew there were people in communities supporting these ‘ships’ – I had Harrison John and Sam McPherson.
I’m still hung up on them. I still die for Christopher Gorham – woah… long crush much? it’s been nearly 10 years hahaha – and I still hunt films (and shows) with Carly Pope, but I still catch any project Popular-related~~ xD
But looking back… you see Harrison/Brooke~~~ and listening to the audio commentaries – Ryan Murphy does say that Harrison picks Brooke people – it’s time to face it~~~ After re-watching the show you see they do build them up, but still… there’s still part of me that wanted Harrison and Sam to happen. *sighs*
Then there’s that~~~ Sam’s a lesbian. Say what? I can’t recall THAT being mentioned on the dvds… can’t be certain, but I’ll trust the internet this time around, and say it. Anyway, I remember reading a REALLY great awesome script-format fanfiction posted on Geocities (which, by the way… it’s closing! I feel ancient~~~), and it was sooooo great. It began on Harrison’s choice, and focused on Harrison’s relationship with Brooke (steamy much? if I recall correctly) and also with Sam. Man, I should look that up once again and save it before Geocities is gone~~~

I never realized how much dancing was featured on the show~~ April Tuna and Mary Cherry kill me with theirs though.
LOL, that’s how I felt watching episode 1 (out of 6) of the TBS drama Godhand Teru starring Yuta Hiraoka, whom I totally recognize from Swing Girls. LOL But, honestly, I’m watching this because of Asami Mizukawa~~ I just ran into it, saw her and well… let’s give it a try~ After all, I did enjoy the last show I saw with her.
Also, when di Hiraoka Yuta get kind of hot? LOL’ he was totally working the dorkability alongside Juri Ueno back in Swing Girls… and he’s also sporting a bit of a dork vibe~~~ I mean, I did recognize him for it!
The drama seems interesting, and probably will finish watching it… unlike Voice (even Eita couldn’t push me to finish that show) ~~ after all! Godhand is only 6eps, I can deal with that…
As for the Power Rangers reference? Well, Teru (Hiraoka) has sort of a superpower (to simplify things a bit) that was handover by his dad when he died on a t errible plane crash… this power takes over Teru each time there’s a life or death situation, and it’s totally Power Rangers that sequence~ LOL’
