Archives For yoko takahashi

Are you guys following Yoko Takahashi’s instagram account? If not, you’re missing out on the snaps she’s sharing of Mikako Ichikawa traveling to Osaka with Masako Motai and Satomi Kobayashi— aptly hashtagged “Noppo to Masako no Futari Tabi” (#のっぽとまさこのふたり旅) and “Noppo to Jukujo no Futari Tabi” (のっぽと熟女のふたり旅). In this case, Mikako Ichikawa is Noppo because she’s lanky. xD There’s only one Noppo in my life, but it makes so much sense.

I also learned how to say a version of MILF in Japanese, coz Jukujo (熟女) is the word used for “attractive mature lady,” which is refering to Kobayashi.

Masako-san is just Masako. xD

I’m almost hoping Hairi Katagiri shows up at one point in an actual photo.

I’ve also added a travel/tourism tag, finally. xD

Yu Aoi has a brand new book release simply titled 8740 DIARY 2011-2014, which is (from whatI was able to get) a collection of text and photos gathered between those years from different directors, screenwriters and co-stars. I am pretty sure there were texts from Shunji Iwai, Yuki Tanada and photographer Yoko Takahashi among many others.

The book is fairly priced… and the yen is down, so I think I might get it. We’ll see. In the meantime, Yu’s been promoting it with this cute little video for MORE Magazine, as well as the customary press event.

You can get the book on HMV Japan, which is my usual choice for Japanese items, even though YesAsia also delivers (but I find it extra pricey for them).

I know that except from my 5th Year Anniversary Wiki Update [1], things have been usually pretty quiet on the Yu front. It usually is pretty slow during these months, as Yu’s activities tend to pick up by August all the way into December, January and February.

Though my fandomess (that’s not even a word) has diminished, Yu still has a special place in my fangirly heart. I would totally be giddy with a new movie, and specially with starring on a new jdrama (as a lead, not guest). I’m not as an ardent fan of Yu’s passion for shaved ice, so those books are missing from my collection, as well as her first few photobooks. But as you can see, I’ve kept on supporting her any way I could.

I’m still waiting to catch Vampire. The Shunji Iwai Festival team on Weibo told me it would be “soon” when I get to catch it on a proper online channel, so I’m crossing my fingers.

I do miss that doki doki feeling I used to get when this fandom started. Maybe I’ll re-watch Osen to recapture that feeling. LOL

Yu-chan will be gracing the cover of H Magazine… again. She was previously on the cover with Ninomiya for a Tekkon photoshoot… and then she was on the Futari no H cover. I have never been able to find high quality scans of that Futari no H shoot… so if anyone has, let me know.

Also, a quick reminder~ Uso. has officially been released. You can get it through HMV Japan… though I pre-ordered it, and they emailed me with a delayed message. BAW~

On the Futari no H link, they mention Travel Sand and Yoko Takahashi. They say Yoko and Yu make up a dream team. xD They do create magic together. You can still buy Travel Sand [YesAsia][HMV JP][Amazon JP], and Dandelion [YesAsia][HMV JP][Amazon JP].

I think both books are pretty big sellers… it always goes out of stock, and if I recall correctly, my Travel Sand book (or is it my Dandelion one?) is already a second print.

Yu Aoi for Jane Magazine

It’s been quiet in the Yu Aoi news lately (weird, considering Otouto was released), so I did my usual search on Google and came up with a couple of things. First, that cover.

Two, my HMV order is supposed to get shipped the coming 24th [Salyu’s new album with DVD, Shiina Ringo old albums], and I’m actually pretty excited to get the back issue of Eye Scream magazine with one of my favorite Yu magazine shoots. I think I’ve crossed that fan line with that buy… LOL

I swear, this is the first time I’ve bought a magazine for a photoshoot with my “fave idol”.

If I could have my way, I would have Yu do all her PBs with Yoko Takahashi… or Marisa Shimamoto… and finally Keiichi Nitta. If I could have my way. Of course, Mario Testino would be awesome too. xD

And finally… Anyone know what this article is about? Many news on this, and one of them Google-translated as “Aoi Yu produced” but I doubt she’s producing, or she’ll be all promoting in her website.

ps. I’m fascinated with how those shoes work with the socks…
and the bombachos ha! And that smile is so damn contagious…

Dear Yu-chan~

It’s been like year and a half since I started fawning over you and the work you do. I feel like we’re on -chan terms by now (joking, joking). But please, PLEASE announce a good project for next year already. And I mean it like a good substantial (not like Honokaa Boy) role, and not a magazine batch. xD

I love your Photobooks, but you’re making me broke. LOL But if you’re working on a new PB, please PLEASE work with Yoko-san because you two work your magic together.

If you want to work on some series, I would also be happy. xD

There’s only one place for fandom in my life (if there were more, I wouldn’t work… sleep, eat or do other stuff) – and right now, Family Outing is pulling my strings hahaha, so hurry up! xD You are lucky I’m not particularly too fond of Hyori-unnie’s music. LOL

Pimp the Blog!

From time to time, I link back to Julz blog, even though most her postings are now locked. What’s up with that, Julz? xD Anyway, I think it’s time to pimp blogs from time to time because, well… some blogs have simply good taste.

So I’m here to PIMP murmure*

murmure* is a Japanese blog in Japanese – don’t worry, you can still try to read it with Google translate – that talks about some different things, among those things are 3 mighty fine topics~~~

Thanks to visitor, kitty!!

Leave a message in this post, and thank kitty for her hard work!

Let’s also leave a big shout out to aoinohoho for the information and clips he brings.

So far, kitty has been kind enough to leave translations for the following posts…
Club Keiba Quiz CM – and…
MTV: Yu Aoi + Yoko Takahashi

I love Yoko-san’s personality, LOL – You know some classic Hollywood stars worked really well with certain cinematographers or photographers?? Yu works so well with Yoko-san. Yoko-san and Shunji Iwai.

If you wanna beg and grovel for anything else you think would need translation, grovel in this post too. – I mentioned the Jounetsu interview from 2006, since it seems to be a popular interview for her Asian fanbase. I’m willing to test my luck at timing.

LOL’

Does that say enough to you? Really, read the editor’s note. Lots of things on this new issue… new problems, new films, new music…
