Archives For spain

The commercials for Nintendo featuring Penelope Cruz and her sister work great. They still make me laugh. This one is still my favorite though;

Though, the other one with Mario Bros still has its charm. It’s also great to see that both versions in Spanish or English are difficult to pin-point which one was the original language. It doesn’t look like it’s been dubbed… or maybe it was shot twice, but it’s hard to tell if both version are slightly different.

Ahhh, one for the memories~
I remember that I had bought Alejandro Sanz’ Mas (More) album back when it was released, so it’s one of the first albums that I bought when I was a teen xD

I might try a couple few more other translations for Alejandro Sanz, but in the meantime, here’s a translation for Amiga Mia (Friend of Mine).

Ooh la la, Sr. Testino.

I remember the Thyssen Museum was huge. I don’t even remember what I saw there, I just remember it well because as I always do in my travels, I was looking for a memorable key-chain that would remind me of Madrid. Of course, key-chains are supposed to be cheap, and I always put them in my backpack… that’s my thing, key-chain from whatever city, and/or coins or paper money.

However, in my short time in Madrid I couldn’t find a single decent key-chain that said Madrid. Americans seem to have the best name-of-city key-chains made in China. LOL So… I ended up buying  a super expensive Thyssen Museum key-chain which was about 10 Euros. At that time, probably $15. Frack. That’s why I remember the place.

And for all the key-chains made in China, I was never able to find a decent key-chain there. All I brought home was Yuans, and Hong Kong dollars. xD

But alas, we’re here for Mr. Testino. I wonder if they will be bringing this exhibit here?

Javier Bardem for Glee

July 6, 2010 — 1 Comment

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Javier Bardem will be a guest on Glee — because he’s on Eat Pray Love, which was directed by Glee creator Ryan Murphy.

Academy Award winner Javier Bardem is expected to appear this coming season as a rock star who befriends Artie.

And he’s got us all beat~

became an unabashed Gleek after watching the entire first season in one week. “We’re going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.”

It sounds like a storyline out of Amy’s fanfiction ideas. I’d better finish my episode, and send it ASAP to Murphy so he can make it happen. LOL

via EW.

It used to be really difficult to watch shorts before the Academy Awards gave its shorts prize, but now it seems many filmmakers have decided to show their work online… and well, people have taken into uploading more shorts xD Obviously, except for the BBC and Wallace and Gromit in ‘A Matter of Loaf and Death’

Ever since the internet began playing a bigger part on what is music today (with places like MySpace, YouTube and Peer to Peer), I said it… there will never be a fuly 100 Greatest Songs for this past decade. You will watch a VH1 (or MTV) Greatest Songs of 2000-2009, and you will always feel they will be nothing compared to their list of Greatest 90’s songs, or Greatest 80’s songs where you would sit, listen and say “Wow, I remember this song. It brings such memories” – Those days are over, and it’s kind of nostalgic.

With the internet, the market for music was open in such a way that you do not need to listen to the radios. You are not obliged to listen to what the record companies decide to send the radios… you simply do not need to listen to anything they produce as there’s a market from pretty much any small artist willing to put themselves out there. With the internet, you do not need to restrain yourself from listening to something just because it’s not sold on your region. You can find out about any group around the world, singing in any language, and you can most likely get their albums digitally or through online stores.

And so my list of 100 Best Songs of the Decade doesn’t reflect what was supposed to be popular in America… or America Latina… or Europe… or China… or Japan, but it reflects the best of everything that was available anywhere in the world. There is most likely you will find something here that will bring memories to you.

Best Albums of 2000-2009

December 23, 2009 — 7 Comments

Well, I’ve found it easier to narrow down the number of albums for this Top100 Albums of the Decade, than to narrow my list of songs to 100. LOL I have around 350 songs at the moment. This is gonna be difficult… and also in every possible language xD

Anyway, I’m sure that I had to take out some albums to include other albums. It was all a very difficult process to figure out what to include… going from “do I really have to take this song out?” to “OMG, I really love all these songs from this artist!!! Which one should I choose!- So please, bear with me, and comment what to add.

Full Cycle YAM – 007

December 15, 2009 — 1 Comment

Congrats, Amy! You’ve made it a year!
Now please, get to work on that website you’ve been talking about all this time.

Yeah, where is Nate? Yeah, that. Nate and I are working on something else, which is nothing at the moment… just a random gig, which will hopefully fuel our bank accounts a bit and let us work on YAM fully for a month or two…
