We all miss supermodels. And damn, that’s some crazy pose Cindy Crawford is pulling for that hourglass shape (as hourglass as we can pull nowadays, anyway) she’s got going on this shoot for Muse mag by Mariano Vivanco [1].

I’m sure there’s a photoshop tweak here and there- after all, it IS a one-color wall.

And though Crawford remains quite flawless, there’s this bit weird about her face that you can notice faintly in some of the shots [which you can check out on Fashiontography], it’s even more noticeable on the cover for Muse, sadly. I would have preferred this shot.

Damn, I know very little about Sammi Cheng — I may have heard a song or two (maybe?) — but damn~ that’s hot. Super hot. Vampire Shane Hot. LOL

I’m not much into fashion, but I ran into this documentary called About Face: The Supermodel, Then and Now, which featured (besides Isabella Rossellini and Christy Turlington) Carmen Dell’Orefice. I was immediately struck by the shape of her face, the lines that form when she’s posing.

I have been looking… for years and years for that perfect beanie [1] I saw Yu Aoi wearing on her Travel Sand book. I’ve looked at thousands and thousands of knitted hats of all types, but none has ever struck me the way that beanie had on those beautifully printed pages. The colors, the material… the amount of the openness of the weave, it was perfect.

Slouchy, with ears, pompoms, tails, tails with ears and pompoms… the ones with scarfs knitted out of the beanies… my collection might not be vast, but it’s certainly varied. I’m also terribly cheap, so I really can’t see myself paying $45USD for the Mango Knit Beanie with beads or worse… £216 for this Inverni Monnier Freres cashmere beanie — as awesome as they are.

This search for the perfect beanie is becoming an OCD of mine. I need help.

Urgent help.

The fashion industry is in the throes of recognizing that their new consumer is not the white middle class — it’s multiracial, it’s international, it’s transcultural.

Eff you, Disney, for allowing this to your brand.

Eff you, Barneys, for doing what you do.

And a big eff you to the marketing team behind this for even thinking it.

Yu Meets Right On~

September 14, 2012 — 1 Comment

So Yu-chan has short hair for reals! She sports her new look in the new commercial for Right On and everyone is tweeting the hashtag #yumeetsrighton (if you’re interested in checking it out).

Yu is also all over the 2012 Fall/Winter catalog for the company xD, and she’ll also be sporting this new look in the cover issue of November 2012 of Mina Magazine.

The Right On YouTube channel also has a brief “interview” with Yu, as well as a short Making Of the CM. You can also browse their website~

While the regular edition of l’Officiel has Katy Perry on the cover, l’Officiel China — which is celebrating 32 years of something — has Gong Li on the cover. There’s an accompanying piece (in Chinese) if you’re interested [link].

Also, I found a new photographer! Very excited when I googled his name and ended up looking at some very awesome fashion shoots and celebrity portraits. Sadly his Weibo isn’t so active :( His name is Feng Hai (冯海), in case you need his name in Chinese characters xD

冯海是天才的摄影师啊!

Anyway, Gong Li is always class. She looks stunning, and the styling of the photograph is great as well, but since my Chinese is so poor, I haven’t been able to find the info I want. ~~~

There was a surge on Yu Aoi searches today, so I was browsing what I was missing~

First~ there’s a new batch of CMs for JINS glasses that were released in early May and on May 31st. This Making Of clip is from the last batch of commercials.

–EDIT–

The JINS YouTube channel has released most of the videos.

Obsession with hair is obsession. xD

I think I might cut my hair like the first one, though without the colors. My hair can’t take the dye any longer. Maybe highlights… I haven’t done things to my hair in ages.
