  • Hana to ARISU Cast Goofing Around

So just a few minutes ago, I put on my Hana & Alice DVD, because I felt like watching something silly about nothing at all… meaning it couldn’t be a film, because I would have to pay close attention to it. This is my 2nd time watching the Making Of, and it’s serious but kinda funny. Well, apparently Japanese edition, and Taiwan edition have different Making Of’s – Well, I only could find clips on them on YouTube (JapPart9, JapPart15, TwClip) – the Japanese ones are pretty funny…

I’m trying to rip a clip of my own, but it seems to take forever without SmartRipper. LOL’ Will get back to you with that later on this post… in the meantime – Well, just wait!

  • 6-Month Mark…

So… I have noticed, I don’t know if you have, but I seem to have a 6-month mark. It’s basically me finding something, obsessing over it for 6 months, and then sort of… there? It’s still there, but not getting mad over it anymore.

At least it’s been like that since Harry Potter… I am almost pretty sure. I pretty much disliked the last two books, for OBVIOUS reasons, some smart people might notice… and friends will pretty much know. So it all sort of crushed something inside of me…

Main thing is, I don’t read as much as I was reading in my 2003-2006 period, but that’s another topic.

Since then, I’ve been jumping fandoms… now, is it because some fandoms are not good? Or is it something about me? Can’t I hold my interest longer than six months??

  • Where in the World is Yu Aoi?

Okay… I must blog this because I’ve no idea what’s going on. xD

Yu has updated her blog (Oct 2008 Update ) with the strangest message, EVER. Click here for a quick Google translation.

She is apparently in Caracas, Venezuela – for the not so literate… that’s the capital of Venezuela (where President Hugo Chavez is…) – what in the world is she doing there? I’ve no idea, but she’s not having such a good time. Makes you wonder…

It sounds like she’s in the middle of the jungle… but Caracas, as far as I know it’s a city… like any other. I know people from there~~ And… it’s not that close to the Equator. I’m sure of that, I passed my South American geography tests in school…

Also, water pipes or water is not working? I suppose there’s no electricity? How do we get this message? I’m beginning to suspect Google is not translating properly… or what? Could Yu be in the jungle? What for? Saving rain forest one at a time? New PB? Is she suffering like she seems from this translation?

    Can someone translate?

Also… nothing good to eat? Sounds dreadful… and not so PB. She’s up to something, what is it?? I’m sure if she wanted to visit Latin America for its food, she would stop by Peru *hint hint nudge nudge* after all, isn’t Peruvian food known for it’s +400 typical dishes? Plenty to eat, and to photograph I tell you… xD Meh, I’m getting hungry just talking about it… geez~

    **EDIT** (almost 4am)
Okay, tried my “own” translation, HA! It seems this update begins OK, here it is (please, feel free to correct):

  • Yu Aoi Film Discussion – Niji no Megami – Rainbow Song

This is officially my 2nd Yu Aoi film, which I saw right after All About Lily Chou Chou. Considering this is the first time I get into Japanese entertainment like this, I had no knowledge about anything. This is the reason why (I think, I’m pretty sure about it) I thought both Yu Aoi characters in the films were two completely DIFFERENT actresses… until I went to vote on IMDb and noticed that her name was already visited. Same thing with Hayato Ichihara… two different people, I tell you!!!

I also watched Rainbow Song because I liked the simple poster. LOL! Little did I know that it had something to do with Juri Ueno, Yu Aoi, Hayato Ichihara… and that Shunji Iwai’s name was involved. Well, I actually thought I knew Juri’s name from the opening credits because I was watching Last Friends during those days… le sigh, oh how time flies!

Okay, let’s see… a little about the film according to Amy.
This 2006 film directed by Naoto Kumazawa had Shunji Iwai as producer and ghost-writer. It stars Hayato Ichihara as Tomoya, a young man working as staff in a television studio, who finds out his friend Aoi Sato (Juri Ueno) dies in an airplane crash.

Genre: Drama, Comedy, Romance… all mashed up together.
Starring: Hayato Ichihara, Juri Ueno, Yu Aoi
    Duration: Almost 2hrs.

Here’s a link to Crunchy to watch it in 3 parts

    Spoilers ahead!

  • MixTape – Osen-a-Mix

I noticed some of you have been looking for the soundtrack for Osen, I’ve blogged more about this soundtrack than other JDramas, so I thought it fair to get a sample for you to listen! The OST contains 22 tracks, not including the song of the intro (Odore, by Micro) or the closing song (Koi Uta, by Tackey & Tsubasa), but it IS a good Original Soundtrack with pieces by Yugo Kanno.

So I got 6 of my favorite tracks, and put them together with the opening and closing songs… for Osen’s MixTape!! xD

    1. Micro – Odore! – “Dance!”
    2. Yugo Kanno – Osen Main Theme
    3. Yugo Kanno – Tema wo Oshimazu – Effort is Valuable
    4. Yugo Kanno – Omotenashi no Kokoro – Heart’s Hospitality
    5. Yugo Kanno – Honmono wo Mirume – Discerning Eye for the Genuine
    6. Yugo Kanno – Noren wo Mamoru – Protect Reputation
    7. Yugo Kanno – Osen Main Theme (Ballad)
    8. Tackey & Tsubasa – Koi Uta – “Love Song”

  • TalkAsia Editions You Might’ve Missed

I know, my sucky last post that begun as a notification of less buying, turned into reporting that Anna Tsuchiya will (or was) on this week’s TalkAsia. If my calculations were correct, it aired today at 8AM, when I wasn’t really up yet… so I’ll be catching it tomorrow at 8PM instead.

If I don’t get to catch it, I will try to see it online… just like I miss Jay Chou, I thought maybe some of you were looking for some missed editions… so I’m posting the TalkAsia with Jay Chou, Bi (Rain) and Lee-Hom Wang that I found…
