Asami Mizukawa for Playboy?

January 13, 2010 — 4 Comments

LOL’

I never expected to see Playboy Japan, let alone post about it. Photos and style seem different, no? Reminds me of the French Playboy edition with Juliette Binoche. Super class!

Tenga Eggs

January 13, 2010 — 2 Comments

Squishy and Oishii have completely changed their meanings.

Someone at NotCot ran into these Tenga Eggs. Obviously, I didn’t know what they were about until I saw the commercial… but maybe I’m just part of the minority that didn’t know. LOL

Yes, this is a romantic comedy post.

Entertainment Weekly has a new post titled What Hollywood Gets Wrong about Women and Marriage, in light of the recent release of Amy Adams’ Leap Year.

Obviously, Rom-Coms are a branch of Chick Flicks, and Chick Flicks are doomed. Especially in the West, where Chick Flick is a super negative tag on a film. Whip Ip (which I enjoyed a lot) is a Chick Flick, and it’s fun. My dad enjoyed it a lot. We should totally watch Roller Derby together.

But Rom-Coms, where they specifically want a female character to find love/get together/get married with someone, they are doomed on a different level. American (as a continent) Romantic Comedies forget that it’s not about people getting together or marrying, and completely forget the characters. In the end, we just don’t care enough for the character to care if she is or not getting the guy.

Do you recall any good romantic comedies of the past 10 years?

I remember I liked Imagine Me & You, My Sassy Girl (Korean version), Saving Face, Love Actually, Were the World Mine, Love me if You Dare~~~ well, that’s a pretty gay selection. LOL

Another Political Rant Post

January 12, 2010 — 3 Comments

Venezuela’s currency is sinking lower.

Argentina’s president doesn’t want to pay the country’s international debt.

Mexico reported 69 deaths to drug-related crimes in just 24hrs.

Peru… been there, done that. Well, except the 69 deaths, I can’t remember anything about that… but I do remember about terrorists and the narcoterrorists.

I’m all for voicing your opinion, but saying whatever you want (like yelling fire in a public place) or instigating violence and hate with what your saying is not permitted. Sorry to say.

Governments should give their people what they NEED, not what they WANT. Obviously, we don’t know what we [as a country, not as individuals] need because we are too selfish to look more than the tip of our noses [is this saying even plausible in English?]. We will never get anywhere if one political party goes left, then the other party goes right — Sadly, that’s the business of politics.

Maybe democracy is just a tiny bit overrated~~~

After all, the one who wins isn’t necessarily the most capable, but the most popular.

And no, I’m not a disillusioned idealist. I stopped being an idealist in high school.

And yes, I just finished watching 4 seasons of Battlestar Galactica. LOL

Maid Cafe. The very concept makes me giggle.

But you can never go wrong with Karaoke and Yakitori…
okay maybe the same can be applied to Maid Cafe too.

I wasn’t a big fan of the This Is Us album, and Bigger wasn’t my favorite track in it… and the video is normal, but it just kinda works. I mean, it’s Japan~~~ And did I mention the Maid Cafe, Karaoke AND Yakitori?? xD

This link seems to look a bit better, but can’t embed.

Behold!

Nominations are done!!

It’s actually kind of exciting, even if not that many people sent nominations. However, it’s actually a really great way to hear about all these many other films that people mentioned so many times, and I knew nothing about.

Of course, if more people had actually sent nominations, the experiment would’ve worked better. Maybe next time… so watch many more films this 2010, so you can participate next time around.

What happened to MTV Unplugged anyway? It feels like it just went away. I do remember Alicia Keys and Maroon 5 had MTV Unplugged albums, right? Or was it only Keys?

Anyway, Vampire Weekend on MTV Unplugged.

Does that mean they’re famous? I thought only famous… like household names had MTV Unplugged albums. I really liked Vampire Weekend’s debut, and their sound translates well on this unplugged scenario. But what’s missing? I guess I’m used to really different arrangements. As it it now, they just sound kind of the same.

Check out some clips (6 songs is a full show?) over at the MTV website.
* seems like the embedding didn’t work for me.

Awww… that is so awesome, non?
Major points for the music~~~
But of course, the big points come
from all that light painting~~~
