Archives For latin america

I don’t watch as much i.Sat as I used to, but this is my favorite commercial I’ve seen from them.

I’m so glad they have it on their YouTube account. xD

I decided to create another feature in here~ The Wannabe Distributor feature!!! Combining my love for film and design, I’m gonna pick films as if I could afford the rights to distribute them, and imagining I really am going to be showing these films at a theater near me, I’m going to pick suitable titles and “create” a campaign to promote it. LOL

My first pick! China’s little movie that could, Love Is Not Blind (失恋33天).

You’d be crazy, Amy. How can Marc Anthony FIGHT! with himself?

Of course, he can! He’s got exact versions of his songs in different languages! So which ones are better? Obviously, Marc Anthony flies that Spanish/English barrier easily, but his Spanish discography, let’s just say, it’s more prolific and slightly more meaningful.

It’s almost too much of a shame to find the VEVO version of his song I Need You, when the better version — equally corny, but much more meaningful Spanish lyrics — of Te Amare [MV] has only been uploaded by a fan.

I’m trying out a new type of posting.

I found this commercial for Rede Telecine [1], a 2min. short done by Rio de Janeiro-based animation studio BEELD.motion for the campaign Vá ao Cinema (Go to the Cinema).

Titled O Homem que Nunca Tinha Ido ao Cinema (The Man Who Had Never Been to the Cinema), the short tells the story of a bitter man who dreads movie theaters because he doesn’t understand them… until he does.

You can check out BEELD’s concepts and storyboards here.

It was about six months ago (I don’t know why it took so long to cause controversy) when this Latin American Snickers CM featuring ex-RBD Anahi hit the waves.

In it, Anahi is doing her usual extreme biking when she falls and starts complaining about it. Her male friends call her Carlos and tell her that whenever he’s hungry he’s “acting like a girl.” “That’s not what your girlfriend said,” as she eats the snicker.

Anahi turns into Carlos.

I was never able to swallow that commercial, and every time it was on tv — even though it should be tough to run into it without watching much tv — I ended up changing channels with an “UGH”

Worldwide Anthems~

May 1, 2011

This post took a really long time… it’s been on my to-do post-it for a while~ I even have a post-it with the songs that I wanted to include, and the ones I could ask people about.

So check out the list on YAM Magazine ;D

Re-pimping this old list~ xD

It’s always been tough to be a working actress on the big screen, as you turn a little older, offers often seem to be linked to “being someone else’s mother,” but cable television seems to be becoming more and more attractive to not only writers – because they get to write more challenging stories and skip censors – but also to women who were movie actresses and have found new complex roles to take on.

you can read the whole thing on YAM Magazine~

Top-Rated Songs of 2010

April 7, 2011 — 3 Comments

I know it’s pretty late, but I guess that I always put the list off because there was always that “haven’t listened to that yet” issue. I will be probably adding 2010 stuff later on, but it won’t hurt to put my top rated songs — according to iTunes and iPod numbers.

Surprisingly, or not surprisingly… the majority of top-rated songs that are equal or greater than 5 stars are Asian artists with their Asian songs and albums. LOL As you know, I’m trying to mix everything up with languages, so I’m also trying to pick one song per artist xD

I hope you like this compilation, there are links to preview the tracks… and also links to buy the albums via affiliate programs, so if you like anything – please support this blog (or YAM)
