ESPN has been re-broadcasting the best bits of the Sochi Olympics, and in true Winter Olympics nature, la creme de la creme of winter sports is usually women’s skating. It’s hard to pin-point what the most popular event at the Summer Olympics is (is it football? volleyball?), but the women who skate are the queens of the gala.

This year, there was a rather nasty controversy between eventual Gold-medalist Adelina Sotnikova (back then only 17) and eventual Silver-medalist and retiring Kim Yuna. The name-calling online got ugly and tiring, proving once again that -as a general rule- fans can suck so much. I can imagine what a cesspool YouTube commenting would be like if it didn’t require Gmail account linkups.

As far as the skating goes, I was dazzled when Kim Yuna won Gold at the Vancouver Olympics, where she skate for her life with such delicacy and grace. In Sochi, though, as much as she could have been pitch perfect in technique (we all do admit skating looks effortlessly when she does it), I was a bit bored. Then again, I’m just a fan who’s never picked up a pair of ice-skates in her life. I’ve never seen a frozen lake or ever stepped on an ice rink before. I’m just mostly disappointed of her fans.

Sotnikova’s choreography, however, surprised me the first time I saw it, and still manages to thrill me to no end. During my second time watching, I thought I might have been influenced by the ESPN Latino commentator who was pretty darn excited with her program, so I decided to look it up-

Still gives me the chills.

I’m the crazy lady of Best Of lists~ so here’s another one.

Do your thing~

But if you’re lazy, I’ve set up (almost) complete playlists on Xiami and YouTube.

Last time it took me 2 years to get my 2012-2013 list out. LOL This year, I’m early. I’m pretty happy with my picks at the moment, so I hope nothing mind-blowing pops up in these last remaining weeks of 2014. In the meantime~ you know where to go.

I swear, for a while now South Korea has been trying to clone Aoi Yu. [1] Thank gods, Yu-chan’s switched styles and has been sporting different hair, and has sorta moved on from her Mori Girl vibe.

I’m terrible with timing, aren’t I?

I’m always dissatisfied with my end of the year lists, but I supposed a WHOLE year of catching up is good enough for me to have a proper idea of what I like, right? I managed to squeeze in 227 movies, the rest is history. I hope you like it, that you don’t hate on me for not including some of your faves, that you celebrate that we loved some of others, and that you love me for introducing you to one title you missed.

After the Razia Sultan movie starring Hema Malini back in 1983, the story needs a modern international-money-backed re-vamp… and Tabu should play her, am I right or am I RIGHT?

Tabu is practically aching to do heavy action on a film (she just wants an action film really… I would put her as Wonder Woman if I could), and though ideally you’d pick an Indian director (Ashutosh Gowariker and Santosh Sivan come close to grand-scale production without the Sanjay Leela Bhansali masala), I’d like to see a full-on international production maybe at the hands of John Woo (enormous scale and grand battles a la Red Cliff are of his fancy nowadays) or have Tabu back with Ang Lee, or go the Korean route with Kim Han-min (War of the Arrows), Kang Je-Gyu (Tae Guk Gi) or Kim Sung-su (The Warrior).

I know Tabu chooses projects at times with set comfort in mind, and I don’t know how the others are on set (you don’t want one that’s as extreme as Von Trier… or such an asshole as David O. Russell LOL), so Lee would be a safe bet. Or… we could go the American-Indian, British-Indian or Indo-Canadian way. Asif Kapadia is looking like a good choice.

Historical political action drama sounds good, avoiding to outright do a dancing sequence unless it’s a court sequence and it’s not Tabu doing it. LOL

Ever since she said she wants to do an action film, I’ve been trying to think of a project for her to do… even though she wouldn’t be my first choice of an action star. But if she wants to put in the work for it, who are we to deny her wishes, right?

Now it’s time for the boys~

Who made it and who didn’t? I was surprised myself. LOL Don’t forget to comment and share ;)

Seo Taiji’s been busy this past week with the release of both versions of Sogyeok-dong (소격동) [IU Version][Seo Taiji Version], and now here’s the much awaited teaser for Christmalo.win (크리스말로윈), which will be his 9th album.

And it will release the same day as Marit Larsen’s 4th album!

So much music~

I finally get the LOEN 1theK thing re-brand. WON-DAH-K, Wonder K? Right? Too slow? Didn’t care much maybe? ANYWAY~

SunnyHill released the first part of their Sunny Blues album (which is pretty good), and have just released one of them videos where they teach how to dance for Monday Blues, but they never seem to time that release to an ACTUAL Monday. But still~~~ SeungAh is being ridiculously over-the-top Aegyo cute. I can’t seem to resist it.

How can this be dork, cute and sexy all at the same time?

Last night, I got the chance to watch a Nora Noh documentary, simply titled Nora Noh. She is Korea’s first fashion designer to ever put on a fashion show in the country. There were some highlight comments, like when Seo Eun-young points out all these Korean celebrities are trying to ride the Korean Wave, when the wave has already been ridden by Nora. Way back when there was no wave.

There was also the comment on Korean pedigree when paying foreign creative directors, makeup artists, photographers, models, etc. more just for being foreign, when they all have talented people in Korea.

I need to gather my thoughts~

And though the docu has an official poster, I played around with some photos… because I got my computer back.

That would be… a triple poster~

I preferred the single sketch poster (3), I think.
