I had so much fun watching Moosical last night, and though I’m waiting for the Bluray release, I might keep the DVD if the BR release doesn’t match the current packaging for Mamamoo goods RBW has going so far. Feelings. Feelings were had. Maybe not the song as a whole, I still think World Without Tears (沒有眼淚的世界) [LV] is much more interesting musically, but the music video for Dearest (親愛的) [MV] by Chen Hung-i (陈宏一) totally sells it. I cried so much, I’ve been crying quite easy these past couple of days. Hwasa made me cry with her short version of Lee Moon Se’s (이문세) Whistle (휘파람). Then this, and now Leehom.

This is just hitting the right mood tonight. Discovered a couple of weeks back on the latest Xiami compilation– it’s called If I Lose my Youth (如果我失去了青春) by the band ZhaoZe (沼泽). Great thing they’re on Bandcamp too!

Mamamoo and being a Moomoo has made me realize that I should be a better fan to my idols, so I’ve been reconnecting with my Everlasting roots. Bless Brown Eyed Girls, bless JeA, bless Miryo, bless Narsha and bless GaIn. They were my original favorites back when I got into Kpop, but never had enough to really get into them. I swear, if there was a MamamooTrans version of BEG back then, I would totally be a hardcore Everlasting.
BEG are so SO funny, I’ve been recently watching their Mepsi appearance, and I don’t even have an interest in makeup or actually get half the show since it’s a mix of Korean with Chinese subs, and my makeup-beauty Chinese vocabulary is poor. LOL I caught a glimpse of them learning Mandarin and I couldn’t resist, though. I’m usually a JeA racoon-leader stan [1][2], but I’ve gotten acquainted with my new-found love for Miryo. I really lost it when she try telling her model that she’d be doing her eye makeup, but came out as “Wo EYE Ni” xD
Then there was their presentation on Weekly Idol, of course. Weekly Idol was one of the shows that got me into Mamamoo as well, and I remember watching BEG’s and finding it hilarious. They can be so much alike in their Random Play, but also comically true Adult-dols, especially JeA and Narsha asking for Red Ginseng and Oriental Raisin Water xDDDDDDD
Of course I’m still hung up on the perfection that was Sixth Sense, I do not regret buying the regular version AND the collector repackage. It’s really my most precious BEG possession.
Also! Request for having a show with Mamamoo or BEG where they learn a language. There’s actually several shows on NHK where idols/actors learn French, Spanish and Chinese (and various English language shows), so this can totally be a concept.
Confession; I had been considering revoking my 24/7 moomoo status for a more casual one where I would just listen to the good music, but that doesn’t seem the case after Mamamoo’s Purple Party in Taiwan this weekend. LOL They won’t let me.
I had been considering it because, though my music consumption has gone up, I need to increase my movie consumption. I also need to find the time to exercise once again, which I could easily do while watching movies, but can’t while watching Mamamoo fancams. LOL You’re watching fancams for a reason, you can’t NOT watch them without missing details. They also seem to be doing well financially to the point that they can afford brand stuff that I can’t or would be willing to afford xD
However, after the Taiwan event with fans and listening (then watching) Solar be so moved, asking whether she deserves all this love, it seems unlikely in the near future that I’d be soft ‘drop’ them. I also wanna give a shout out to the Mamamoo Taiwan MooMoo Union because- JOB WELL DONE, you guys~ teaching the fanchants, and doing the event, feeding the staff and even the journalists. You guys did amazing, pushing the bar for fans to behave and show their idols all your love~ You guys make me want to be a better Moomoo.
I started listening to Chen Weilun (陈伟伦)’s album, Think Miss Sorrow (念思愁), which just came out last week. While adding it to my iTunes library, it struck me how difficult it was to translate the song names. xD
For those who don’t know because you’ve just stumble upon this post, I usually keep a very organized library of foreign music, which includes ‘Original Name (romanization) – English Name/Translation’; so I was looking if there were official English titles for the songs on Chen Weilun’s album available on Xiami, KKBox or iNDIEVOX. There were not. On my search, already on title #3, I realized they were all titles (or most are, I haven’t gone through all of them yet xDDDDD) for Li Qingzhao (李清照), who is known as the greatest Chinese female poet of the Song Dynasty, mostly for her ci (词)/lyrics form of poetry [1][2].
So this is going to be a (hopefully brief) project to translate just the song names xDDDDDDDD

This seems to be a presentation for KBS’ Open Concert (열린음악회), where they also did Yes I Am [1], but this re-do of their Immortal Songs‘ Flying Deep in the Night (깊은 밤을 날아서) [1] is sending me to the edge~ like, it’s the same, but they feel so different.
Solar, of course, is killing me softly. xD There was the cute HwaByul moment, and Whee-In giggling, and Moonbyul singing.
Mamamoo also did a tiny broadcast on their CH+, and Whee-In was wearing specs and a 3/4 sleeve t-shirt, so I was dead. I’m mourning because I missed the broadcast, so I have to wait to watch the whole thing xD AND Japanese fans keep posting their photos with Mamamoo and I’m mad jealous. When will I? Hopefully, one day, now that ZanyTV is on.
I know they do stage mixes cuts, but this is the first time I’ve seen they actually include all ad-libs in a video. Like, the editor thought it was irresistible. And I agree. Music Core this era has had some of my favorite stages; the white outfits and the police outfits, but also the loudest fanchants have been those two presentations.

Also, Mamamoo is doing Zany TV (which is aimed at Latinos), so DOUBLE BLESSED! Latino activities, chuseyo. Peru, chuseyo. I don’t have my Google account linked to YouTube, LOL, but don’t ignore my pleads! I do exist.
ALSO! Solo plans for all four, and more overseas activities. Must setup Mamamoo Fund. WHY LIVE WHEN I HAVE FOUR RADISHES TO MAINTAIN???
Hyori has been delivering on variety shows and interviews all week- people are loving Hyori’s Bed & Breakfast; I’ve been emo because of that moment when Hyori was teaching IU about life as a 20-something. She’s just full of ‘life as a celebrity’ wisdom. She talks about her marriage, controlling her temper, her insecurities releasing music, not having endorsements or doing commercials for a living, and trying to profit from just music.
She’s just realizing that you can’t make a living doing just music in Korea. I’m actually quite shocked that she says that Psy only made $38k with Gangnam Style. That’s a HUGE shock. I also hope that’s only what streaming and downloads did in South Korea, because I’d be super shocked if that includes the YouTube, iTunes and Spotify fees.
