  • Yu Aoi, Tokyo Disney, and Narration

More Yu Aoi narration work, this time for a 30sec. animated commercial for Tokyo Disney Resort… “where dreams come true,” that carries more of a storyline than some of the movies we watch in theaters. LOL

I hope Yu-chan doesn’t only focus on narration work in the future, coz I’d be pure disappoint. But as I’ve noted before, she’s developed her narration voice now. She’s expanding her voice range.

  • Bounty – Let The Spills Begin (London 2012 Olympic Games)

I was watching my YouTube upload feed, and was shown this commercial instead of the Telefonica Movistar one, and thought it was really good. At first, I thought it was just an Olympics commercial, then I went “duh!” it’s a Bounty commercial.

It was directed by Bram Van Riet for Caviar Content.

  • Rurouni Kenshin Poster~ Yu Aoi and Emi Takei

The Rurouni Kenshin poster is out.

I don’t know many Yu Aoi fans who are excited for it, but I know Rurouni Kenshin fans are pumped. I know a few.

Yu Aoi has bangs… I don’t think I’ve seen Yu-chan with bangs since her early acting days. She looks mad weird, and the photoshop makes it look like she’s carrying that kid. No? Maybe it’s just me? xD

Last Jdrama season, I gave W no Higeki a watch. I don’t think I mentioned it on my review, but Emi Takei gave me a strong Yu Aoi vibe in that show. Since then, Takei has popped up in a LOT of projects I’ve been reading about. So much, I only remember saying “ohhhh, she’s in it too?” xD

I think she’s lacking a little bit of the Yu-chan charisma, but she’s okay.

I’ve been re-kindling myself with fandom, so… I guess you’ll see when I post about it when it gets here.

  • How to Train Your Dragon – Live Projections

    This is just amazing.

A show of live projections, puppets, and music was developed to put on a How to Train your Dragon performance. It brought memories of Walking with Dinosaurs [1]… but, you know, with digital displays.

I don’t know what I would think of it if I were a kid… I know I probably complain about how kids don’t know how to be kids any longer, but things like this make me want to be a kid to experience it like I should. xD

  • Kidman for Harper’s Bazaar by Will Davidson

    Oh, gosh.

I was looking for a suitable still of Hemingway & Gellhorn, when I ran into this cover for Harper’s Bazaar and I thought it was an old shoot until I read it was a fairly recent one.

  • Miki Nakatani: You Miss Me, Admit It!

No Nokaze link to Miki is a deal-breaker for me.

Okay, maybe not a deal-breaker, but I was astounded when the Memories of Matsuko banner with Nakatani-san showed up all Happy Wednesday on me when discussing the Korean re-adaptation of JIN.

Sure, we only have like 50 banners… but still, 1/50 chance xD

  • My Current 2012 Albums Heard

I haven’t done one in a very long while, huh?

Since the demise of the LivingSocial application on Facebook — TuneSocial — and my shift from downloads to streaming… it’s been hard to keep track of the music I listen to and rate. I tried Discogs.com, but I’m thinking of dropping it because they’re such an uptight community. Every time you add an album that doesn’t adhere to their guidelines of barcodes, catalog numbers, and milimetric genres, you get voted down.

I don’t buy or sell anything there, and I find myself adding more than I’m actually just searching for… and still there’s people who vote me down and are bitchy about it, instead of helping out and finding the lacking info themselves.

I rather keep my own database without hassle. I’ve added about 350 albums tonight… in the time it took me to add just a few albums at Discogs.

These are the albums I’ve heard this year. There aren’t TOO MANY amazing ones yet, but there are a few very good singles that shall be contenders for the Top50 list this year~

This year I’m doing better with my music than with my movies. LOL I’ve only seen like new movies this year, hahaha. If I don’t work harder on that, I’m not going to be able to pick my Best Movies this year.

Light blue highlight only points out a “special edition” xD

  • Imogen Heap’s Album 4 and Asia

    When did this begin?

    [soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/playlists/1051864″ params=”color=ff0090&auto_play=false&show_artwork=true” width=” 100%” height=”450″ iframe=”true” /]

I wasn’t a very HUGE fan of Imogen Heap’s last album Ellipse, but she is still more interesting than 95% of people out there. I got really excited with the first track, Xizi She Knows, because it partly reminds me of my Yat Yi Sam song… but you know, in Mandarin xD

That one and the Indian track one. xD

The first five tracks of the album are pretty good, I wonder when the album will be up for purchase.

  • Fukushima Hula Girls Trailer

You know, Japan is YouTubizing itself. I didn’t know Asmik Ace had a YouTube channel.

ANYWAY, browsing their uploaded videos I found the trailer for Fukushima Hula Girls (がんばっぺ フラガール!), which has narration by Yu-chan… because, you know, she was a Hula Girl. xD

Is that Yu-chan’s voice in the trailer? Coz… she sounds, so different. If I didn’t know she was doing the narration, I wouldn’t know it’s her voice. This is a new voice… different from the one she uses in CMs, her screaming (Shiro, Raiou) voice, and different from her talking voice. Yu-chan is developing her narration voice.

If there’s a DVD with English subtitles, I will get it to support Hula Girls and Fukushima… coz, was this done to support them? Are we donating money with this? I just realized I have no idea. O_O
