  • Tekkon on H – Yu Aoi x Kazunari Ninomiya

Woah, long time no Yu posting! LOL
    xD

I dunno if anyone’s seen this, but it’s a discovery for me.
Je detest lire, et ecrire en francais aussi.
    Les accents, je les detest!
    lol

    Anyway! From H Magazine~~~
    KOMIKKU06
    Manga mitai ni Ikitai

Something like Comic’06 – Living (or I want to live) like Manga –
or Manga-looking Life. LOL’ Japanese is all about interpretation xD

Tekkonkinkreet is one of my fave Yu projects~

  • Okay, This Is Too Much~ David Tao’s Opus 69

First, Bibi (who loves David Tao, and now shares record company with)
    Then Seo Taiji~~~
Now turns out David Tao’s about to release a new album called Opus 69-
I’m lacking the oxygen to process any spazz~

Three years in the waiting!! LOL

    David Tao - Opus 69

And I love the almost pretentious name explanation, Ha!

David Tao comes back with his new album in three years titled Opus 69. The number in the title references a number of things, among which is that it’s the singer-songwriter’s 6th album and 9th CD. Besides, David was born in the summer of ’69, and the symbol of his zodiac sign, Cancer, resembles “69”. Moreover, in the ancient text of I-Ching, 6 and 9 symbolize “change” and “rebirth”, and the numbers when pronounced in Japanese are similar to “rock”, which is what this highly anticipated album is about!

Damn! Check out the pre-orders in YesAsia.

Have you noticed I’m very Chinese at the moment? xD

  • The Fantastic Mr. Fox Trailer Looks Wicked~

Not Coraline or Alice in Wonderland wicked,
    but still worth watching~
And it’s filled with celebrity voices…
like George Clooney (Mr. Fox), Meryl Streep (Mrs. Fox), Michael Gambon,
Willem Dafoe, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody
Brian Cox, Anjelica Huston and even Wes Anderson who is also directing this
    stop-motion animated film… hmm,
do I see a new Best Animated Feature nominee here?

  • New York, I Love You Poster – Where’s the Film?

    It feels like FOREVER.
    Just like Paris, Je t’Aime.
When did I first blog the trailer??

New York I Love You Poster

How do you feel about the poster? Better than the first image, I think. But Paris, Je t’Aime pawns.

Just like before, the collection of shorts has loads of people. Natalie Portman has two shorts in it, one as an actress on Mira Nair’s short, and one directing (exciting!) – most exciting? Shunji Iwai’s short!! Though it’s with Orlando Bloom, Shunji Iwai makes movie magic oftentimes~ And I’ve been waiting new Shunji Iwai films since… since… since Hana & Alice which was released in 2004.

Not like I waited since 2004, since I just discovered him. LOL

  • Feliz 28 Playlist!

More than half the day gone by, but still time!

    Feliz 28~ xD

I made a YouTube playlist for everyone, with a sort of international flavor. ^^
I hope you listen to all of the tracks, because… well,
that’s the way it’s supposed to be, right?

Also… don’t mind the actual music videos, just focus on the music. LOL
    trust me.

    [iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/videoseries?list=PLF1FD4B5D155873C4&hl=en_US” ]

What’s so awesome about this 10-track list?
It’s got 3 different renditions of the famous El Condor Pasa,
lots of international flavor right there!

    1. Miki Gonzales – Tusuy Puquio
    2. 12 Girl Band (女子十二乐坊) – El Condor Pasa
    3. Gianmarco – Hoy
    4. Pedro Suarez Vertiz – Cuando Pienses en Volver
    5. Jean Paul Strauss – Matarina y Mambo de Machaguay
    6. PAPA SARA (パパ・サラ)- CONDORU wa Tondeiku (コンドルは飛んで行く)
    7. Gianmarco – Volvere
    8. Eva Ayllon – Y se Llama Peru/Contigo Peru/Esta es mi Tierra
    9. CantoAndino – El Condor Pasa
    10. Los Nosequien y los Nosecuantos – Tributo al Rock Peruano

  • My Case Against Jane Zhang

    Who’s Jane Zhang?

She’s 2nd runner-up to the Super Girl contest, back when Chris Lee (Li Yuchun) won, and Bibi (Zhou Bichang) placed 2nd. Meaning… Jane was just behind Bibi.

I don’t wanna start anyone’s fire. Don’t want to attack the fans, but some of Jane’s fans online had been very vocal on Chris Lee even calling her “man-woman” – I can’t take that. While Li Yuchun fans are happy-go-lucky… after all, they did win. LOL’ – Some of Jane’s fans can’t keep their comments down.

Yes, I get it. Chris Lee is not the best vocalist. I know that.
But she doesn’t suck, you know who sucks at singing? I do. LOL

First time I heard Jane Zhang was on the Lee Hom Wang album, and I thought her voice was very generic Chinese pop idol. My friend happened to ask if I had heard of her, which led me to find out she’s sung in different languages. I admit, it got me interested… she’s sung Contigo en la Distancia!

    [iframe width=”480″ height=”390″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/fzA5QrlDhec?rel=0″]

Regardless of understanding her Spanish… tell me you did not just see Christina Aguilera’s gestures there? An interesting comment about her accent being and English Spanish accent, instead of a Chinese Spanish accent – because she obviously took the song from Aguilera, and not let’s say… Luis Miguel, or Caetano Veloso.

  • More Bibi PBs!

    :O

    ZOMG!
a la Juri! DVD + Photobook!

Mainland pop star Zhou Bichang (a.k.a. BiBi) turns movie director! Since signing with her new record company, the 2005 Super Girl first runner-up has directed three shorts that were first released on the Internet. They are now collected on DVD, allowing fans to witness her developing visual creativity and narrative flair. The first one, “Hide and Seek”, was highly popular in the 3rd Global Awards of Chinese New Media competition. BiBi plays an angel in the second chapter “Angel’s Corner”, which expresses her concern for various social issues, while the final piece “One Half Each Person” is more self-reflecting.The DVD comes with a 210-page full-color photobook, in which the bespectacled singer appears entirely without makeup. The book also includes photos she has taken around the world, as well as excerpts from her diaries written between April to December of 2008.

    Ooh la! Short films~~~

Bibi Chow - Make Up Remover, Good to Be Myself

Too bad it’s not subbed. But still, would be interested to see it.
And it’s okay-priced. Would you consider? LOL

  • This is what’s happening~

Everything I know or get from product photography, I “got” as a kid watching Discovery Kids when they showed a clip of how the photoshoot for a sandwich – complete with pinned-lettuce, strategically placed ketchup, soaking-wet cheese, raw-yet-well-done-cold burger and silicon-sprayed buns – and of course~ the ice-cream cup which was filled with silicon squares, and a some other squishy-plastic-like product… so the ice-cream wouldn’t melt, you know?

I also did some “product shooting” in my school days, but really… wasn’t my thing.

But look at this! It’s almost so SO real, except the fries… but still.
    O.O CRAZY!

    Is product shooting going extinct?

  • Carly Pope Thinks Vancouver is Awesome~

    me too, me too.
though it’s always a love/hate relation with any city I stay in.

I’m headed to bed early tonight. “big” day… er… today.
    let’s see how it goes~
    in the meantime~~~

    Here’s Carly Pope!

    Carly Pope by Shea Pollard

What are your fondest memories growing up in the city?
My parents used to always take us down to Granville Island on the weekends.  Kids Only market was my hotspot, no doubt.  We’d also take drives along the Seawall, and I would be nothing short of fascinated with the Girl In a Wetsuit Sculpture sitting out in the sea.  I tried (every time) to convince everyone she was actually the Little Mermaid…my version, anyway.

I actually thought it was a mermaid too. LOL Granville Island pawns.

What’s the most awesome restaurant in Vancouver?
How do you choose?!  Vancouver’s seriously got the most awesome restos.  I’m practically a pundit for anything and everything Japanese. Hapa Izakaya, Kingyo, Miko, Bistro Sakana, Tojo’s (kind of preferred the days of old there though…something more unruffled about their former setup, but I get it), Shijo, Yuji’s, Yoshi’s, Daikichi (for takeout).  Asian fare, though, across the board, makes me a happy girl.

Bolding, mine. ZOMG~ She’s so awesome. xD
I’ve been to Hapa Izakaya once, it was pretty nice. Loads of people. Pretty nice food.
    But double ZOMG! Daikichi!!!
I did most my Jap takeout from there since I lived right across the street. xD
I did hang out with the Asian crowd. We went out to eat almost every weekend…

  • Emmys: The Main Title Nominees

Motionographer made a post on the nominees for
    Best Main Titles
(yes, motion designers can win Emmys too)

Of course, my favorite one (and crossing my fingers for its win) is
The United States of Tara… because!
I love pop-up books… the level of detail in it,
the style… and I also loved the theme.
it gives you the proper idea of what the show is,
it evokes the show and the style.

    [iframe width=”560″ height=”349″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/ivFAuqpeaz4?rel=0″]

Forget the Film (or show), Watch the Titles also had
a special on the titles for United States of Tara~
as well as True Blood, and Taking Chance
