This is the Japanese Kubo We Deserved~

I don’t know what is it about Laika, but Kubo was the second Laika film that I enjoyed the Spanish Latino dubbing more than the original English track. Not that the original Boxtrolls dialog lacked anything, but the Spanish Latino is funnier to me. When re-watching on Bluray, I would choose the dubs over the original audios in both. In Kubo, it had a lot more to do with the fact that Charlize Theron’s voice as the mother and Monkey spoiled the bit of the story, which I suppose was a huge reveal.

With dubbed voices, the identity of the voice is a lot foggier, so it comes as a greater surprise (unless the dubbing had chosen a recognizable voice to sell the project).

I was eagerly waiting for Kubo to open in Japan (just like I watched Los Fantasmas de Goya in Castillian Spanish xDDDD), and since it was taking so long, I was wondering if it was ever going to be released there since Laika hasn’t been making much money there and Boxtrolls didn’t even open.

I was super disappointed when the first trailer for KUBO クボ 二本の弦の秘密 dropped, but it was subtitled. LOL It’s about three weeks to opening date on Nov.18, and this first clip of the dubbing came out. It features Pierre Taki in McConaughey’s place (the Bettle), alongside Rina Kawaei in Mara’s role of the Sisters, Akiko Yajima (whom I think is doing the voice of Kubo xD), Atsuko Tanaka (as, I suppose, Monkey), and Michio Hazama (as, I suppose, the Moon King).

Laika could totally release a collector’s edition with this audio track included.

BEG are my Original Mamamoo

Bless their hearts.

Mamamoo and being a Moomoo has made me realize that I should be a better fan to my idols, so I’ve been reconnecting with my Everlasting roots. Bless Brown Eyed Girls, bless JeA, bless Miryo, bless Narsha and bless GaIn. They were my original favorites back when I got into Kpop, but never had enough to really get into them. I swear, if there was a MamamooTrans version of BEG back then, I would totally be a hardcore Everlasting.

BEG are so SO funny, I’ve been recently watching their Mepsi appearance, and I don’t even have an interest in makeup or actually get half the show since it’s a mix of Korean with Chinese subs, and my makeup-beauty Chinese vocabulary is poor. LOL I caught a glimpse of them learning Mandarin and I couldn’t resist, though. I’m usually a JeA racoon-leader stan [1][2], but I’ve gotten acquainted with my new-found love for Miryo. I really lost it when she try telling her model that she’d be doing her eye makeup, but came out as “Wo EYE Ni” xD

Then there was their presentation on Weekly Idol, of course. Weekly Idol was one of the shows that got me into Mamamoo as well, and I remember watching BEG’s and finding it hilarious. They can be so much alike in their Random Play, but also comically true Adult-dols, especially JeA and Narsha asking for Red Ginseng and Oriental Raisin Water xDDDDDDD

Of course I’m still hung up on the perfection that was Sixth Sense, I do not regret buying the regular version AND the collector repackage. It’s really my most precious BEG possession.

Also! Request for having a show with Mamamoo or BEG where they learn a language. There’s actually several shows on NHK where idols/actors learn French, Spanish and Chinese (and various English language shows), so this can totally be a concept.

Moomoos Will Never Let Go~

Confession; I had been considering revoking my 24/7 moomoo status for a more casual one where I would just listen to the good music, but that doesn’t seem the case after Mamamoo’s Purple Party in Taiwan this weekend. LOL They won’t let me.

I had been considering it because, though my music consumption has gone up, I need to increase my movie consumption. I also need to find the time to exercise once again, which I could easily do while watching movies, but can’t while watching Mamamoo fancams. LOL You’re watching fancams for a reason, you can’t NOT watch them without missing details. They also seem to be doing well financially to the point that they can afford brand stuff that I can’t or would be willing to afford xD

However, after the Taiwan event with fans and listening (then watching) Solar be so moved, asking whether she deserves all this love, it seems unlikely in the near future that I’d be soft ‘drop’ them. I also wanna give a shout out to the Mamamoo Taiwan MooMoo Union because- JOB WELL DONE, you guys~ teaching the fanchants, and doing the event, feeding the staff and even the journalists. You guys did amazing, pushing the bar for fans to behave and show their idols all your love~ You guys make me want to be a better Moomoo.

Mamamoo Keeps On Attacking Me~

I felt so attacked, yo!

This seems to be a presentation for KBS’ Open Concert (열린음악회), where they also did Yes I Am [1], but this re-do of their Immortal Songs‘ Flying Deep in the Night (깊은 밤을 날아서) [1] is sending me to the edge~ like, it’s the same, but they feel so different.

Solar, of course, is killing me softly. xD There was the cute HwaByul moment, and Whee-In giggling, and Moonbyul singing.

Mamamoo also did a tiny broadcast on their CH+, and Whee-In was wearing specs and a 3/4 sleeve t-shirt, so I was dead. I’m mourning because I missed the broadcast, so I have to wait to watch the whole thing xD AND Japanese fans keep posting their photos with Mamamoo and I’m mad jealous. When will I? Hopefully, one day, now that ZanyTV is on.

Even MBC’s Music Core is Doing an Ad-Libs Cut

I know they do stage mixes cuts, but this is the first time I’ve seen they actually include all ad-libs in a video. Like, the editor thought it was irresistible. And I agree. Music Core this era has had some of my favorite stages; the white outfits and the police outfits, but also the loudest fanchants have been those two presentations.

BLESSED.

Also, Mamamoo is doing Zany TV (which is aimed at Latinos), so DOUBLE BLESSED! Latino activities, chuseyo. Peru, chuseyo. I don’t have my Google account linked to YouTube, LOL, but don’t ignore my pleads! I do exist.

ALSO! Solo plans for all four, and more overseas activities. Must setup Mamamoo Fund. WHY LIVE WHEN I HAVE FOUR RADISHES TO MAINTAIN???

Lee Hyori on Making Money Doing Music on Happy Together

Hyori has been delivering on variety shows and interviews all week- people are loving Hyori’s Bed & Breakfast; I’ve been emo because of that moment when Hyori was teaching IU about life as a 20-something. She’s just full of ‘life as a celebrity’ wisdom. She talks about her marriage, controlling her temper, her insecurities releasing music, not having endorsements or doing commercials for a living, and trying to profit from just music.

She’s just realizing that you can’t make a living doing just music in Korea. I’m actually quite shocked that she says that Psy only made $38k with Gangnam Style. That’s a HUGE shock. I also hope that’s only what streaming and downloads did in South Korea, because I’d be super shocked if that includes the YouTube, iTunes and Spotify fees.

I don’t really follow Chae Ri-na, but even she’s super hilarious too! And, damn~ I missed Kahi. And damn~ Narsha the instigator. Damn, Hyori’s variety skills [1][2][3]. Damn, my Family Outing heart. I’ve had so many feels with Hyori’s Comeback -especially Black [MV] with subbed lyrics- and her Comeback Stage at Show Champion. And the crowning of IU, and the looking at the Mamamoo kids.

Bless that Soft Mochi-Cheek Leader

Mamamoo has been delivering all weekend, I’ve been emo all weekend. [I also finished watching Meri Pyaari Bindu, and I was not ready, yo~ Extra emo] I’ve become that kinda fan, tho. LOL The one that finishes work on time for music shows broadcasts, and sets alarms for VLive sessions LOL I’ve set up repeat YouTube playlists and I’ve been checking the charts every few hours. I pre-ordered my double-album (because duh! SUN-BAE-NIM leader-nim said so LOL [truthfully, though, I did that before she said it]), I’m still waiting for it to be shipped (foes of international, farthest away regions) AND I also bought the album on iTunes.

Confession! On teasers and first few listens, Yes I Am [MV] wasn’t my jam. Now it is. It’s kinda how it was with Um Oh Ah Yeh and You’re the Best— those live shows get you going. Have you see the Music Core one? It’s already been subtitled, fan chants and all, BLESSED! Thank you to whoever did that, y’all really take care of us.

AZEGAG, however, damn~ that’s my jam.

There’s different kinds of fans listening to Mamamoo~

  • Listener 1: Those who didn’t like either AZEGAG and Yes I Am (probably just liked You’re the Best or Decalcomanie, unlikely both)
  • Fan 2: Yes I Am > AZEGAG
  • Fan 3: Yes I Am saved summer!
  • Fan 4: AZEGAG! Can’t get it out of my head HELP! Those trolls! Only Mamamoo.
  • Fan 5: Straight-up Moomoo. Loves all songs, has no favorites, all songs are their children.
