Flickr user JOEYBLOG made an alphabet in the shape of monsters to help his son learn it. Pretty cute and fun! I made myself a wallpaper.

This is an un-official “Why the 90’s Ruled or Not”.
Remember those days when Discovery Kids (Latin America) was actually for kids – you know, 10-13 year old kids – and not babies~~ I mean, COME ON! Teletubbies??? Shoot me in the face already!!
Back in the day, when I was a 10 year old kid… my family first got cable. If I recall correctly, Discovery Kids Latin America used to be in channel 65 or 85 or something, and it had awesome programming for intellectual kids like me~~ Truth be told, most my younger cousins didn’t watch Discovery Kids ever, but I did… and I’m an avid TV watcher since I was a kid. That’s my market~
What did I used to watch on Discovery Kids? Well, I had my first introduction to the Internet thanks to them! Cyberkids was one of the programs I used to watch, and probably shaped me in the way that I am today… you know? Blogger, Web Designer, Web Surfer~~~
It’s V-day, so my non-V-day gift to all of you it’s more YAM. Yup, 2nd issue is done.
Featuring Coraline, which opened this past Thursday here in Lima (only dubbed). We are also taking on Best Picture Nominees, and our picks that shoulda been BP. We are also talking about Duncan Sheik, Melinda Doolittle, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Lee-Hom Wang, Franz Ferdinand… and many other reviews!
Now, if you’re ready~~~ head over here to get it.
It arrived yesterday ^o^ !!!
I actually celebrated my b-day last night with a proper meal, and apparently my last YesAsia order. Belated Happy Bday to me!!! And happy 5 year blogging~~~ xD
My first EVER Japanese DVD – all because it listed ‘English subtitles’. I just couldn’t help myself.
Gu~ Gu~ Datte Neko de Aru, which was translated to GuGu the Cat, was not the movie I was expecting – in a good way. I think I had only seen a short clip of the film, perhaps the 30 second tv spot, where they open the box, GuGu shows up and they all go “kawaiiiiiiiiiiii”. So I thought the film was a comedy, but just like some other WOWOW projects I’ve seen, they border on the dramedy field (like Camouflage, 1 Million Yen Girl, and Don’t Laugh at my Romance).
– See, WOWOW people~~~ if you’d release those mentioned above with subs, I’d probably buy them. –
In GuGu, Asako Kojima (Kyoko Koizumi) is a manga artist who hasn’t had much time for life, other than taking care of her pet cat Ça Va and seldomly writing and drawing for her manga series alongside her team of assistants, including Naomi (Juri Ueno), a fervent fan since her teen years.
There’s a lot of fun moments… sometimes dealing with romantic relationships, and overall human relations… as well as some cat relationships xD – so if you like cats, you can probably enjoy this one.
Woah~ I was just checking my Google Calendar, and holy! I saw “First Blog Anniversary” on February 13th – at first, I didn’t remember what I was talking about, but then I clicked on it and said “First blog published, 2004 on Flash”. And finally got it! Remember it!!! LOL’ And actually, I’m so good at keeping track of my stuff now, that I have a screencapture of what I was FIVE years ago.
I’m even a little ashamed. LOL – I made a quite-tacky-Flash-based ‘blog’ because I was taking Flash in Vancouver (I got a pretty good grade, btw). I remember the first post ever was to say that I had posted a review for 50 First Dates, and The Corporation. Of course I kept reviewing films, and it became tedious to handle all that data in Flash at the time without XML. Then I made one with XML, but still… I ended up with a HTML version just a few months later.
And just for the sake of it, this is my first online portfolio – made also 5 years ago (but finished and uploaded in June).
Changed? xD
it would be a boring movie about watching movies and listening to music? That’s like… SO sad.
Maybe I’d be a little experimental independent film… maybe just chronicling my life outside Peru. xD Although… that would include a lot of the above mentioned to tell you the truth. But a littlte more excitng.
But if there were a movie about my life, who would I want to play me?
Hmm… maybe Juri Ueno? x’D She’s like funny, dorky, kinda cute, but serious. She can rock the short hair too. But could she rock a Mohawk or a shaved head? Plus, she’s Asian… not Chinese, but Japanese… but close enough, non? xD
Or… maybe~~~ Bibi Chow? She rocks the short hair too, but she’s got like Chinese hair, you know? Like really really straight like my cousins~~ could she rock the curly hair? How about a Mohawk and or a shaved head? She’s also Chinese, funny, dorky and kinda cute. Eh… she’s a singer, but she’s done a bit of acting I think~
How about Yu Aoi? No, no~~ don’t laugh. LOL’ Well, she’s Asian… funny, dorky, kinda cute? I dunno if she can pull off the Mohawk though (even if she suggested getting a Mohawk on All About Lily Chou Chou), and would she pull off the shave head? But Yu Aoi’s kid photo reminded me of me… dunno, something about the quietness of the photo~~ looking to the front of the class, and being still.
Hmm.. if there was a western version of me? Well, I think everyone wants Natalie Portman to play them. xD – She rocks the shaved head~~~ She’s tiny, almost Asian-like tiny… funny, dorky, kinda cute? xD Well, just saying~~~ Hmm… how about Jena Malone? She also rocked the Mohawk last time I saw her~~ But I think she’s taller than needed be. I dunno much about her, as I always kind of see her in roles that are a bit dark, and always like a love interest of someone. I can only remember Cheaters for a starring role, so that works for me. I still remember that quote “if I catch one of my students cheating, I’d turn the little bugger in not because I think it’s wrong to cheat, but he was stupid enough to get caught.” Paraphrasing~~
So who would play you if they were to make a movie of your life?
Did you watch the Grammy tonight? I mean, not like I had a choice to watch BAFTAs instead, but I did watch the Grammy on an off, while having dinner and chatting on MSN.
Woooooo! I actually rock~ lol, my wishlist of winners wasn’t too far off on the General Field categories. Quickie predictions weren’t that bad~~
My only pet-peeve miss was Coldplay winning Song of the Year, instead of Adele. I mean, DUH! Adele with Sugarland was pretty amazing, I must confess that I never really paid any attention to Sugarland (I saw them on some Billboard award, so I didn’t think anything of them) – but they were GOOD.
Coldplay also did a better performance than I expected, since they were doing a bit of a crappy job on live performances. Must be the mic, I tell ya. Radiohead also did pretty good~~
Miley with Taylor Swift? Like ZOMG! Miley totally made herself looked SO AWFUL next to Swift. Swift is 19, looks younger, writes and sings better. Miley is 16, looks 25 and sings like she smokes a packet a day. That’s all I have to say. And… Jonas Brothers? Aren’t two of them like in their early 20s? Shouldn’t they have changed their voices by now?
Adele won 2!!! As Sugarland did… Alisson Krauss with Robert Plant won 5 – including Record of the Year and Album of the Year.
All the LONG list of winners, here.
Paving the way to Oscar… BAFTA were just handed out~~ My private predictions weren’t too far off, scoring 15/20… considering this is my first BAFTA prediction, I think I did ok~~
Slumdog got 7 out of the 11 nods it had, including Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay and Score – Benjamin Button didn’t leave empty handed either (finally!, lol) – It took home 3 out of 11 nods, all in technical categories such as Best Visual Effects, Makeup and Production Design (which is Art Direction).
Kate Winslet pushes forward as the favorite in the Best Actress for winning for The Reader, Heath… well, like, is that a surprise anymore? I’m sure a lot of America will tune into Oscar night to see Heath winning. And Penelope Cruz pushes forward for an Oscar win as Supporting Actress for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona – and well, Mickey Rourke~~~ MAN, that’s a tough one to call. Sean or Mickey?
Animation was a tough category, WALL-E ended up victorious against AWESOME animated films, Persepolis and Waltz with Bashir, which also lost Best Foreign Film against I’ve Loved You So Long (Il y a Longtemps que Je t’Aime)
Read the whole list of winners here.
LOL’ Hmm… no wonder “clementine ford” searches spiked all of a sudden. If you don’t know who she is, she’s Molly (Shane’s (Katherine Moennig) love interest) on The L Word.
Did a little search, and found this…
“Clementine Ford comes out” – read a bit about it here.
So… search spiking mystery solved!
off to bed~~~
