Archives For October 2009

I’m always a sucker for drums and claps. xD

for one thing or the other~~~

We are halfway through the list of 20 Actors Between 20-25 to Watch Until They’re 30, so it’s time to stop for a minute and talk a little about the few actors… or in this case, actresses that didn’t make the list for different reasons.

You should know that I’m writing as I think of those names and reasons, so I’ve got nothing planned. Forgive the possible lack of photos, lack of other info and ramblings.

Why am I singling out “actresses” – well, mainly because I already have a few of their names right on the tip of my tongue, and like I said before… my list of guys was very limited from the get go, but don’t worry. I will also talk about guys. LOL

Well… I’m not sure about the albums I’ve heard either.
Hahahaha. I really don’t think I heard enough albums to
excuse the amount of films I watched this past month.

Hmm… weird. I wonder~~~ Continue Reading…

Well, I don’t seem to have seen many films this time.
Hmm… I wonder why. I still haven’t made a countdown
of the music I’ve been listening to, so maybe I’ve been
busy with that. xD You know me, if I listen to much music,
I don’t have the time to watch many films, and if I read too
much, I don’t have the time to do either. LOL

So let’s begin… Continue Reading…

1434 by Gavin Menzies

October 10, 2009 — 3 Comments

1434 by Gavin MenziesI was browsing books at the local bookstore (weeks ago) and picked up a copy of Gavin Menzies’ book 1434 in Spanish, well because it’s hard to look away with a caption like “The Year a Chinese Fleet reached Italy and started the Renaissance.” I’m not a book reader, I’m not a historian, and I’ve learnt to take everything I read or hear or see (documentaries) with a grain of salt… even more so when my sources tell me “they are free and independent” because I know how the media works. I hate journalists, and I hate news reporters…

To be honest, I’m very likely to believe things written on this book, because at this point in time I have a very deep dislike with everything dealing with the West.

You gotta admit that’s a pretty bold statement, and it is interesting. If you think Menzies is full of shit for saying this, what makes you think anything written anywhere else is true? Take my school days as example. When I was around 13, we used to have a Chinese Culture class where we learned about Chinese geography, a bit of history, folk tales. In this class we learned about The 4 Great Chinese Inventions. Later the same week, we would get History class on universal history, where they would tell us Gutenberg invented Printing. So, what the fuck. What gives?

So should I believe one or the other? Why should I believe one over the other? This is all I have to say after reading a lot of hate towards 1421 (Menzies’ first book).

Fact is, there are some similarities between indigenous people in Peru and across the Altiplano, and the Amazon, and minorities in China, Taiwan and all across South East Asia. And you didn’t have to read the book to notice that, you only need to watch the news, and documentaries to see their cultures, rituals and physical traits.

On the book itself… it’s a pretty messy read. Like a experimental film edited to jump back and forth, only in written form. Book could’ve been shorter and more straight to the point, instead of musing over Menzies activities. I don’t fucking care if you were a sailor, or if you went with your family to the DaVinci’s exhibits around the world. LOL

The illustrations and other image inserts is also a mess. I hate it and makes the book very amateur, but I think all these books suffer from the same crap. Cheap design. After all, it’s all about content, right? Whatever.

Rating: 3/5

I was never a huge fan of Toy Story,
mainly because I find Woody and Buzz very annoying…
they have their moments, but overall – not very likable to me.

But this trailer is so sad. xD

It’s so sad when we gotta grow up, and move on.
Think of Christopher Robin and Winnie Pooh!!!
Imaging having to tell someone you care that you
can’t come and see them again because they
must go on living. Aww, saddest.

So finally~~~ The bottom 5 of the Top10 actors you should be watching until they turn 30. And here’s another asshole. Because there is a 95% chance that he is a douche with all those reports and things he says. Plus, he’s short… that’s probably where the bad attitude comes from.
Not everyone can be Tom Cruise.

You may ask why he is ahead of freaking Shia LaBeouf, after all LaBeouf has 2 franchises – but those are pretty boring franchises. Skull wasn’t that good of an Indiana Jones film, and Transformers 2 was rubbish. ANYWAY, why is Hirsch on #6 of the list???

Emile Hirsch

His jump from TV to the big screen was on The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys (with Kieran Culkin, Jena Malone and… Jodie Foster!) — so that’s pretty awesome. He later was placed into the spotlight with The Girl Next Door sharing screen with Elisha Cuthbert  (oh, what the heck happened to you) and Paul Dano.

He’s also been involved on Imaginary Heroes (Sigourney Weaver, Jeff Daniels, Michelle Williams),  Lords of Dogtown (with a whole bunch of people including Heath Ledger and Michael Angarano), he later should’ve been nominated for his role on the Sean Penn’s directed film Into the Wild, and became part of Milk sharing the screen with Penn himself.

So that’s freaking impressive, liking his attitude or not. Would I dish my hard earned cash on someone who’s such an asshole? No, I wouldn’t. This is why Hirsch’s thing isn’t a blockbuster. But is it worth keeping an eye on the roles he chooses? Yes, he has chosen interesting projects since he left the small screen for the silver one, and there is no reason why he shouldn’t be looking for other roles like that.

And no. Hamlet is not a brilliant idea, but Hardwicke could make it work.

LOL~
I seriously can’t believe this is a Fox promo for House M.D., Lie to Me, Bones, Dollhouse and Fringe.
has there been that many strippers on the shows?? xD

Courtesy of Sue Sylvester again!

Glee - 1x06 - Procreation

I’ve always thought the desire to procreate was a sign of deep personal weakness. Me? Never wanted kids. Don’t have the time, don’t have the uterus.

Hahahaha.
And come on! That journal entry! xD

bmw-electric-scooter

Okay, not as cute as let’s say a super roundy hot pink scooter designed for Hello Kitty, but it IS cute for a brand like BMW. Plus, I would so totally get beat up if people see me riding one of these, but I would so totally want to ride it for at least one time. Check out more photos here.

I also want a green mint Vespa. LOL
