How old is Se7en supposed to be? I feel like he should be contemporary of Bi Rain, but he looks as young as the “younger” DBSK, Big Bang, 2PM, 2AM and every other goddamn K-pop boy band released in the past 3 or 4 years.
Okay, having said that… did anyone else thought of Europop when listening to the song? I mean, the song it’s okay – but okay only. It’s too much autotune from the beginning, and the choreography is okay. I dunno if I’m being too “gay” now, but the women in K-pop are kicking k-pop “boys” butt lately. Hyori and Narsha alone look so much cooler than Bi and Se7en.
Like I told Julz now, I like BEG. xD Well, I liked GaIn better in the Abracadabra video, which I spent all weekend listening to. However, I also listened to Narsha’s new mini album… which was pretty ok.
This video, however, wow… is this a nominee for Most Use of Hair Styles or what??? xD I’m not gonna say I love it, but I’m probably gonna be caught humming it — just like I say Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Hyori style now.
You know what I like now? I like that the Kpop music scene is keeping the worldwide pop scene in good shape, with loads of style, colors, choreography, well-cut videos and quite danceable pop. Yeah, as much as I could criticize the commercialism, I can sit back and tell all of you, at least I would make an effort to pay for it. The Kpop scene has good quality pop acts… despite the ones whom you could be labeled as “guilty pleasures” *coughGeecough*
Yeah! Take that Miley, Bieber and… are the Jonas still relevant?
柴米油鹽醬醋茶 (Chai Mi You Yan Jiang Cu Cha), the first single of the just announced new album by Lee Hom Wang – probably out by the end of the month and titled 十八般武艺 (18 Types of Martial Arts?) – has just hit the net with a concept strikingly familiar to the first 15min. of Pixar’s UP.
Which… still kill me apparently. GOSH. Damn you, Leehom – you made me teary.
and the song, literally meaning “firewood, rice, oil, salt, sauce, vinegar, tea” but it just names the simple “daily necessities”. At first listen, the songs seems average LHW style, but on following listening, it makes so much more sense… especially with the video.
Earlier in the year I listened to one of Tsuchiya’s albums… I think it was Nudy Show? Anyway, I really dig her on Kamikaze Girls. I mean, she’s really funny in it. But Sakuran is okay… the album was okay-ish… and the music video included on the Kamikaze Girls dvd was very Alejandra Guzman to me.
I hope she doesn’t end up like Alejandra Guzman.
Anyway, here comes Tsuchiya’s new single – Atashi – after having her second kid… whom she called Simba (SHIMBA) LOL Too much Lion King. xD Lucky for the kid Tsuchiya didn’t decide on Hakuna Matata.
Atashi is an okay song. I’m not too fond on the word “atashi” mainly because it’s used for I/Me for women. I remember one of my Japanese lessons, and my teacher (a guy only one year older than me) told me this, and I went “But WHYYY?” Because that’s how it works. BAWWWW~
Asia is having a Women Tuxed-off. First with the likes of Chris Lee and BiBi…
Now~~~ Hello Jing Chang!
She won the first season of Super Idol in Taiwan, and is actually signed on Gold Typhoon, which is also BiBi’s label now — someone’s got a fetish for girls in tuxes… LOL
I really wanted to change one of the songs, but the song I wanted to add has escaped my mind. I have only heard it a couple of times, so the group didn’t stick with me… only the description as “they look like the Japanese Rolling Stones” – They lead singer even looked a bit Mick Jaggerish with his skinny pants and his movements. The song name — I suppose — is KIMOCHI, but because it has such a name, it seems impossible to Google. Do you know the song I’m talking about?
The guys kept singing KIMOCHI, and I’m pretty sure it was written in Katakana.
Anyway, if you know… leave a message~
*EDIT* Yes, I found it. I’m so good. xD Took 2hrs though xD
In the meantime, you gotta listen to this new Japanese mix~
Actually, can I just say Bibi’s face in the last few seconds of the video, on the close-up, she looks really really GOOD. Like her face is amazing on that shot. And you get DOUBLE amazing face. I was wondering there… “OMG, is she going to do it?” It was tension… did you feel it?
EDIT The Youku version seems to look better than the YouTube one. After all, it does say it’s HD (高清) – Gao Qing means High Clarity, hence HD… though had to look where to turn the HD on xD HD is so much simpler…
EDIT 2 Found the proper version by Typhoon Group (Bibi’s company), so in case you want the Youku one.
as far as music goes? I think it works with the image, though I don’t know how that will translate on overall album work… I am getting curious. I miss original Bibi though, I need to hear her original voice. Her lower voice is so awesome… she’s so eclectic on Canned Fish.
I wonder why Canned Fish too…
All I think about when saying Canned Fish is THIS Canned Fish. You know? The One? With rice… I grew up… or I mean, didn’t grow up with that one. Guilty pleasure. Always reminds me of my grandfather. That and fried eggs on white rice and soy sauce. Classic.
You know I’m a sucker for traditional music fused with modern music, so it wasn’t a surprise that I’ve gone pretty nuts about the Yoshida Brothers thanks to this post.
Though I am unsure on how their discography works (Japanese releases and International releases), since I don’t know if all of the albums contain different songs, or if some of the releases are just compilation of others.
I know there’s so many posts today, but this is so frakin’ contagious. It is a bit unsettling to put Hanson and the word “dancing” in the same sentence, but this song is just… so… damn catchy. I can’t even remember the lyrics, but I want to clap my hands and learn the dance. I am suspecting I am so totally buying the album next month.
Also, maybe not a candidate for Breakthrough video… but definitely a candidate for Music Video with Dance in It… I might just not give it a choreography title, but it’s a dance video nonetheless~~~
