  • Revolutionize, Give Your Music for Free!

    Lol’

Like ANY artist would. They should like soooo totally do it. Kick it Radiohead style!! They do make you feel kinda guilty over that, I ended up giving some money – Good music deserves $$ =D

Moby, he’s not cool… but totally earned some bonus points when giving his tracks for non-commercial videos/films etc etc.

Major labeled artists shouldn’t complain about illegal digital copies. They’ve got enough money, and they make all their $$ in their concerts anyway… just ask Madonna.

  • Spice Up Your Life!

There’s something seriously wrong with the world around me, when the first thing I check out once I open my browser is a gossip column. I admit I even checked it out before going to sleep, and I knew that when I woke up, Lainey was gonna have her review and pictures.

Yes, Spice is back! And for some weird reason, they’ve made me nostalgic even though I don’t have any of their albums, and I was never a big fan of them… so I can’t imagine how Spice fans would feel. For the record, I’m not in Canada… and I won’t even get close to going to their Argentina concert…

    Wanna read? Check Lainey’s review.

PS: Lainey needs a RSS Feed, so I can add this to myGoogle.

  • A Warner Bros’ B.O. Theory

This post has nothing to do with Body Odor. HAHA.

I just recently found out Guillermo del Toro was interested in directing HP7 (a.k.a Deathly Hallows) – which would be nice… and a smart move by The WB. I mean, Yates… bah. Buhumbug! HP5 was one of my favorite books on the series, but the film was just annoying. Watch it as clips, it’s great… watch it as a whole, it’s utter trash. Why they hired him for HP6, which is also a crappy book, it’s because HP5 made more money $$ for The WB than HP4 and HP3, but the master of money-making has been HP1, so this is my theory.

Everyone wanted to see Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone (HP1) because it’s a novelty… all fans go, all curious go… that equals a lot of cash into WB’s pockets, they think they have a success thanks to Chris Columbus. But let’s face it, HP1 wasn’t so good looking back, so people kinda lost some interest in it, people lost the novelty… there’s no curiosity factor anymore, so Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (HP2) comes out, and surprise! It doesn’t do better than HP1, probably something The WB didn’t expect. Critics and the public are not very surprised, and Chris Columbus is gone! Ciao!

By this time, people have lost interest… and critics are not attracted… yet here comes Alfonso Cuaron, a decision that sparks a bit of interests in movie buffs and critics, but not your average movie goers. People have already lost interest over HP1, and the horrible HP2… so they are not expecting to see HP3. Results? Only hard-core fans and movie fans go see it. Results again? Hard-core HATE it, movie fans LOVE it! Critics praise the film, yet Hard-core fans are the one who go to the film over and over to watch it, but since Hard-core HATES HP3, it makes even less money. Cuaron is dropped! Ciao!

Mike Newell comes on board for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (HP4)… critics want more Potter now, but fans are skeptical. Hard-core fans think it can’t be worse than Cuaron… HP4 results in a summer flick full of action, but no meat. Results? Critics are divided over the fact that it was entertaining, yet lacked growth… but the average movie maker finds it fun, and the hard-core fans are in peace. In the end, HP4 is more successful commercially than HP3, but not even close to HP1. Oh, well… Newell! Ciao!

So The WB goes and picks David Yates… most people go WTF – but this decision sparks interests from movie buffs and critics. People enjoyed HP4, it was fun! Such a great summer flick… yeah, yeah. We should so totally see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (HP5) – then the keywords here were, Clips & Trailers. Everyone wanted to see, oh! the trailer looks amazing, the clips are so good! A rebellion you say? Voldemort’s back? Results? Everyone flocks to the theater to catch HP5. Results? Critics aren’t so sure, new fans from HP3 hated the choppiness of HP5, and they would’ve preferred watching separate clips, than watching all as a whole. But hard-core fans don’t care… they have their precious book… it’s the last book, oh yeah~ we should all go see the movie, because it’s the last book. Results again? Best commercial success, but still not as good to push HP1 of the #1 spot. Meaning, Yates is back for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (HP6).

M y B.O predictions are, people who didn’t like HP5 will not go watch HP6… they will probably catch it on TV, or find a digital copy. Book 6 is a bad book, meaning there’s a slim chance it will make more money $$ than HP5, meaning… Yates! Ciao! What will happen with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (HP7)? That will depend on how HP6 does in Box Office, how the critics treat HP6, and who they will choose for directing HP7.

If HP6 does as crappy as I think it will do, and critics aren’t as excited about it, as they were with HP5… The WB will need to choose some high-profile director… be it Peter Jackson, or Guillermo del Toro or someone critic-friendly to create a new buzz for the last film… because HP7 was a pretty crappy book, and The WB will only cash in more money $$ because of the director.

  • Decent on Search Engines’ Rankings!

This post will not be fun. LOL’ – that’s a warning xD

I did a little Googling, and Yahoo-ing……. by typing ‘amy’ – my blog showed up on page six! Not bad really, if you count that I have to compete with Amy Winehouse, Amy Smart, Amy Lee, and a bunch of other Amy people… and most importantly, Amy Wong from Futurama. Now, I’m just hoping my porfolio climbs up in the following weeks, since turning it from Flash to WordPress.

By googling ‘amy wong’ on Google I showed up as #2 or #3, both my portfolio and blog – and did #1 and #2 or #3 on Yahoo! which was pretty nifty. Amy Wong from Futurama is pretty tough competition! That’s for sure.

Even though I do better in ranking on Yahoo! – I think Google is the best searching tool, by searching for ‘amy wong chan’ I was pretty much the only one showing up in Google, yet a few bunch other non-related stuff showed up on Yahoo. And for sure I’m the only ‘amy sue wong chan’ which was pretty nifty., except for the non-related Yahoo results.

  • Amy’s concert laments

I’ve no idea why I checked the Ticketmaster site, haha – probably coz I like to suffer for the next 60 days.

Arctic Monkeys @ PNE for only $35

Klaxons @ Commodore Ballroom only $17.50 MYGAWDDDDD T_T goes cry in a corner

Tokyo Police Club @ Plaza Nightclub only $15

The Thermals @ Richards on Richards only $15 – *ucking Chris… it goes even lower and lower!

    *Amy dies*

I actually hate it when people start getting famous and begin charging over $50, lol… like Maroon 5. Hahaha… I actually paid like $40 to see them before, but that was in a John Mayer concert… they were opening for him. And how about Liza Minelli and 12 Girl Band? Pricey~

  • I’m a Maniac, Maniac!

    … of languages!

Ok, here’s my story. Japanese is pretty awesome, but let’s get real. Any Asian language that I will ever try to learn, will eventually come to a sudden halt with the different writing… (more…)

  • When life gets you down

You stop and curse. Yeah, that’s what you do. You curse at 3rd persons, you curse at yourself… mainly because of stupid mistakes, and appeal to the better nature of Peruvians. Because, really, in times like this, they SUCK. (more…)

  • Eighteen, Pirates, Everyone and The Fountain

Just updated the list of films I might watch or wanna watch this year – HERE

The past few days, besides from obsessing over watching the Celtic Woman concert DVD, I watched a few films. First in the list are two Canadian indies, both very similar in casting, and both pretty good.

Eighteen tells the story of Pip, an apathetic Canadian middle-upper class who decides to live in the street due to several reasons. On his 18th birthday, he receives a tape with a recording of his grandfather (voiced by Ian Mckellan), who tells Pip about his 18th birthday spent on the run during war time. – The film is quite a good drama, definitely worth a watch. Loved Carly Pope, Paul Anthony and Brendan Fletcher (both of them were on The Adventures of Shirley Holmes). – 4.5/5

Next was Everyone, an odd dark comedy, that also counts with the talent of Pope and Fletcher. This film is about a gay couple who’s getting married, and all their guests for the event, including a failed TV actor who hates kids, his anorexic actress wife, a pot-smoking-couple who spent their time playing video games, a mom who’s desperate for a grandchild, her picked-up-from-the-bus-stop guest, and a caterer that just can’t stop talking. Carly Pope has a few great one-liners in this film xD – 4/5

The Fountain was just plain awesome to watch. The visuals of the film are superb, and the story is so freaking out there – some will hate it, some will love it for sure. The film is about a couple dealing with death, parallel in three different times. HOWEVER, it can also have a different interpretation. It’s really open, but it’s good because it’s different to so many films. – 4/5

And last but no least… Pirates 3. It was a decent film, the effects and action sequences were great as expected. Davy Jones looked as great as Pirates 2, Barbosa was decent, and Jack was great as always. The film didn’t work out for me because I had an issue with introducing all those international pirates, and not using them. What a waste! Even if Chow Yun Fat was pretty good in his few minutes of film – I wish he could’ve been more important. It was just pure filler – and I wished for Elizabeth to just be an independent woman, captain of Sao Feng’s vessel, and king of all pirates~ I hated she had to marry… and I sorta disliked I got an expected ‘happily ever after’ ending. Besides, Jack/Elizabeth kiss on Pirates 2 was hot. Hands down. Lol – 3/5

  • If you say RED, I do RED.

Ok, this is just a short rant. Some people will get it, some other might not.

Now, if you ask me to do RED… I will do RED or at least….. LIKE RED. But then, if I show you RED and you don’t like RED, don’t blame ME for doing RED because now you FEEL like doing BLUE. OK?

    GAWD.

  • Hell Friday!

    Ok, this last Friday sucked!

First, there is NO sign of episode 6 of ANTM8 coz YouTube sucks. Then, computer was supposed to arrive today, but it hasn’t and my uncle said maybe later in the night, it’s Saturday already and nothing… I also decided to format my cousin’s laptop… HP laptop. For some reason, it didn’t wanna accept and wipe clean the whole Hard Disk with a copy of XP Professional, so now I’m stuck with a useless HP laptop with only 2GB free. I have to wait for the freaking HP installation CDs now.

I was also trying to make a small network between the computers in my house, because I’m tired of running around when I want to print something from my laptop in the printer of the desktop. So that also blows!! I mean, it’s supposed to be so easy, but for some reason it just REFUSES to work properly. I have officially rebooted my machine over 10 times today. And the Microsoft Support Center? Yeah, not much support in there… It figures.

After all was said and done, I ended up having a chat with Mrs. Cow inside a bun. It turned out she was from Hamburg – actually, I learned some things today. First, that thing we, in Spanish, call “Gentilicios”, it’s called “Gentilics” or “Demonym”. I also learned that people from Croatia are not Croatians, but Croats, and that people from Hamburg are NOT Hamburgers, but Hamburgians!

There you go, tell other people!
