Archives For Music

is go international for once and for all.

iTunes is not international. For one, if you’re from Peru (just found this one out, hahahaha) there IS a new iTunes Store Peru, which you can possibly use ONLY with a Peruvian CC. Makes sense that there is a Peru iTunes Store, now that they sell iPhones here. Only BIGGEST problem of them all…

THEY DON’T SELL MUSIC.

Same with iTunes Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Panama, Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela and Vietnam.

Yes, I went through all the stores by country when I found the one from Peru to check that I’m not the only one getting screwed here. What good is something called iTUNES if I can’t get tunes… *rolls eyes*

Then there’s the issue with “only one-region” exclusive download, which could be in either of their country stores and you won’t be able to buy unless you got the cc and billing address from that region.

If Amazon is intelligent and goes international without regional restrictions (meaning no US IP addresses or minding the billing address) they will gain market. Availability is all. iTunes is still more available than Amazon since Amazon only works with a US IP.

So… you probably should know Marit Larsen’s music video and song for Under the Surface to find this funnier.

If Only

December 10, 2008 — 1 Comment

Just taking apart my notebook. LOL’

If Only

I never thought that coming back
would take a piece of heart apart
and as time passed, each piece of heart
just started fading away.

I understood saying goodbyes
was always a part of this life,
but it’s never stopped this mind
thinking about the time, if only…

If only I hadn’t left,
if only I’d pass this test,
we’d still have the time.
One more summer, one last fall…
winter passes, springtime falls
One more cycle, life and death.
If only.

Taking the Leap

December 10, 2008 — 2 Comments

So I asked my friend Jose (no, forget the joSE… say like JOse… lol) and he said okay, so I am sharing.

One day, I was doing whatever I do at 3AM, and came up with a song that I titled Taking the Leap. No, I am not suicidal… Anyway, I liked how it turned out in my mind, but I’m musically talent-less, so I sent it to Jose, and he work with his music sutff that he does.

We are not PRO, obviously… we don’t have fancy software… just some freeware called Audacity, and some crappy web-mics recording in mono. Care to listen to it? MP3 listening, lyrics and download after the break.

  2. Taking the Leap [instrumental]

Well… during the past week, every time I’d wake up, there’d be another award nomination announced. Beginning of last week, it began with the Spirit Awards, then Grammy nominations

Then there’s the interminable Top10 Films list around… then there was the National Board of Review’s announcement~ They named Slumdog Millionaire as best film, and included Let the Right One In as one of the Top5 Foreign Films…

Apparently the Satellite Awards nominees were announced on Nov30 –

Today, the Critics’ Choice Nominations were in – There’s a lot of love for Milk, and Benjamin Button… which will probably lead through award season, including Academy Awards. There’s also a lot of love for Anne Hathaway, who will possibly include an Oscar nod for Best Actress. Love for Meryl Streep in Doubt, as well… but apprently no love for Kate Winslet, who was a favorite of many award sites throughout the year as Best Actress for Revolutionary Road, but no love for the film in any of the previously mentioned awards.

There is also love for Let the Right One In, that appears in various lists as either Top Foreign Film, or Top Films of the Year…. I must get the DVD as soon as it’s out.

LOL’ You gotta love Dancing Queen to enjoy anything with this playlist. I was gonna do an ABBA playlist of covers I found around, but there were a bunch of Dancin’ Queen covers… I made some interesting findings… like Black Sabbath~~~ xD

  1. Black Sabbath
  2. Solal (presents the Moonshine Sessions) Featuring Melonie Cannon
  3. Glow
  4. Michael Brown/Will Rapp
  5. Sixpence None the Richer
  6. Frank Turner

Grammy Nominees 2009!

December 4, 2008 — 3 Comments

Did you know that they changed the way they announce the nominees? I didn’t. Just found out tonight they were doing presentations and stuff, instead of just naming them… didn’t watch, did you? Anyway, I’m not really impressed with the music… Coldplay with Viva la Vida, REALLY? I thought the album was pretty rubbish…

Viva la Vida got 7 nods, including Record, Song and Album of the Year. Really? Lil Wayne apparently has 8 nods, but I can only count 6… so whatever.

Other nominees include… Sara Bareilles with Love Song in the Song of the Year category – it baffles me how she can get a nod, when Regina Spektor has NONE. Jason Mraz is also nominated in this category with I’m Yours, while Duffy and The Jonas Brothers are nominated in the Best New Artist category.

And I’m too lazy to go category by category, so here’s a not-so-tidy list of some of the names in the list…

Pink, Leona Lewis, Katy Perry, Kid Rock, Alison Krauss, John Mayer, Paul McCartney, Eagles, Maroon5, Alicia Keys, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Sheryl Crow, Rihanna, Daft Punk, Kylie Minogue, Moby, Robyn, Natalie Cole, Josh Groban, Rufus Wainwright, Metallica, Radiohead, LeAnn Rimes, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Juanes, Ximena Sariñana, DLG… etc etc.

Including nominations for the films American Gangster, August Rush, Juno, Mamma Mia!, and Sweeney Todd for Best Compilation Soundtrack. The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones, Iron Man, There Will Be Blood, and Wall-E for Best Score Soundtrack… AND, Wall-E, The Bucket List, Walk Hard the Dewey Cox Story, and a double nomination for Enchanted for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture.

For the long boring list of nominees… lol – you can go here.

:D

Who was aware that EMI Music Norway had a Flickr account? Well, I was looking for some photos for my project, and foudn that they do. EMI Music Norway uses Flickr and host some pretty high quality photos of their artists, concerts and promo packs. Major cool!

So I found 13 photos (in reality 11 + 2 cd covers) of Marit Larsen from The Chase. Very PRETTY photos, most taken by Julie Pike. Enjoy the link! I’m sorry, Yu xD I’ve found my new wallpaper… LOL

Bibifying One Person at a Time

November 26, 2008 — 1 Comment

Half a year ago… I did my fair share of RASUTO FURENZing people, now it’s time to Bibify people! As a gift, I gave my friend NOW & WOW for her birthday… last I checked on the Bibi Facebook group, she’s been Bibified. And I have not only Bibified her… she’s only my latest Bibifying…

I have also Bibified my dad (he says Bibi is my ringtone on his cell), my two older cousins are also Bibified as well… are you ready to be Bibified?

When I watched Memories of Matsuko, there was one scene when Matsuko’s life was already going to the gutters, she was lying on the garbage bags, and she was watching TV. I immediately recognized the song as an Okaasan to Issho song… today I decided to look for it, and found it!

Okaasan to Issho 1999 song, at first I thought it was a Takoyaki Mambo song, but I was lucky enough to find it on a website listing all the songs. Video and Romaji after the break!
